The four stars are for the doctors and nurses they were all really helpful and very attentive to my son. They helped ease my stress and comforted me because it can be very nerve-racking and they are very appreciated for that. However the two receptionist upfront we're very rude and impatient I forgot their names but I get like a burden for being there. The other receptionists that were there later in the day were really nice. The wait time was long but we came prepared and brought a blanket and tablet which helped the time go by they also have movies that help keep the kids distracted. read more

I'd like to give this place more stars but all in all in wasn't the most amazing experience because we weren't prepared properly on what to expect. First of, They told me over the phone that the appointment might not start exactly at the scheduled time, but they didn't tell me it would take hours. We got there at 8:30 and didn't leave till around 3:30. My poor son (4years old)was thankfully great during the whole wait, but they should tell people ahead of time that once you enter the lobby you can't leave back to your car until your child gets taken back for surgery (not that very morning when you get there), they should inform about the wait time without sugarcoating (because I too was fasting, unintentionally), and they should also let you know about how heartbreaking it might be when you pick up your child after surgery because they're crying uncontrollably & slobbering all over the place. Because that too was sugar coated by the nurse when they took us back to do vitals. She said he'd fall asleep in my arms, and that that would be the last thing he'd remember, and then he'd wake up in my arms. But no, instead they called me to go pick him up and he was already awake and crying. And for the drive home ( 1 hour away) I would have wished that they suggested someone else rode with us to help me with my son in the back seat because I couldn't very well clean up his spit or anything from the front seat as I drove. And the nurse also said he would fall asleep in the drive, and of course that did not happen till the very last 20 minutes or so. So most the drive I drove literally in tears along with him because he was crying, barely being able to hold his head up & having to to and clean himself up with the gauze and spit in the spit cup. It just wasn't at all what I expected. Not to mention, the anesthesia is given via a shot on the arm, which I wasn't prepared for either nor was he. So that moment seemed a little cruel, unnecessarily too. And trust me, I used to work at a family practice and have no issue with vaccines or anything, but I would have started prepping him mentally, days ahead if I had known. So all in all, this is not a happy memory. But I'm still impressed by how clean the place was. And the staff truly was very nice. And they played kids movies all day in the lobby. So that helped during the wait. Oh! And definitely take sweaters because the lobby does get cold. And pack a little bag for your kid with a drawing pad, a book, or a couple toys. My son was seen hear twice. The first time he had to be rescheduled because the dentist took extra precautions to make sure my son was perfectly healthy before his procedure. On our second visit we were called to move up his appointment so he can be seen before a possible shut down due to the current coronavirus pandemic, i was so grateful because they could have cancelled until it was over. We did wait long but it was understandable due to them fitting in more appointments like my son's. They kept me informed the entire time and the staff was sincere. I recommend this place. I only give 4 stars because if you cancel without 48hr notice you must put a deposit down to reschedule. read more

Worst experience ever! Arrived for my daughter's appointment after waiting a whole month for it. When we arrive we are forced to wait outside for someone to even come and screen you, with their front door locked which is a fire hazard. It's 110 degrees outside and we waited out there for quite a few before she implies that her temperature is high. She then asks "did you have your air on" well obviously its 110 degrees at 9am why wouldn't I. She then goes in and out two times before she says oh well your daughter has a fever call and reschedule. Okay how unprofessional! You guys should be calling and making call confirmations and you should not be having people stand outside and wonder why they have a fever. To top it off it's tympanic which is the least accurate. I was told that there could be up to a 5 hour wait regardless of the time of the scheduled appointment. My 4 year old son was seen today for much needed dental work, his primary dentist gave us the option to do his dental work at Indio Surgery Center and after reading the reviews on yelp I decided to try it out. I was very nervous before his appointment just because I was worried about him being under anesthesia. This place is awesome all the staff is very friendly and are willing to answer all questions I absolutely loved it. They really took good care of him. The dentist that worked on him introduced himself to me before the procedure and came out to notify me that things went well after the procedure, it's things like that which really make a difference. They understand how scary it is to trust someone with your child and I feel like they take that into consideration. If you are skeptical about taking your child here don't be they will be in great hands! Also, I just wanted to mentioned that they have a very clean facility so that's always a huge plus for me! read more

I was referred here by another Dentist during COVID 19 so the options were slim and this office was one of the only that could see my 5 year old daughter who had a dental emergency per her Dentist. I arrived early in the morning with my daughter and we were taken back right away. Everything went well up until this point. Once in the back and sitting on a bed with my daughter a lady obtained my daughters vital signs and began to go over the procedure. Mind you, this place specializes in Pediatric Dental work under anesthesia. There were two reasons for having my daughters Dental work performed under anesthesia. First was due to the amount of work that she needed done and second was to provide a trauma free experience. The lady proceeded to go over the procedure in such detail in front of my daughter that my daughter began to become hysterical. The lady informed us that they were going to put my daughter to sleep and pull out her teeth and then showed us a giant picture of silver capped teeth and white capped teeth. My daughter was under the impression that she was going to wake up with either no teeth or all silver teeth by the break down this lady gave us. My daughter has very mild anxiety when we go to the dentist regularly so this is not normal at all in any way for her. At this point the Dentist walked in who was very professional and polite. I asked if we could speak away from my daughter as she was very upset by this point. The Anesthesiologist came in to give my daughter a shot to put her to sleep. My daughter was more hysterical then I have ever seen her because she was literally scared for her life from the lady telling her she was going to be put to sleep and have her teeth pulled out. Usually they place the children in hospital gowns but my daughter was not placed in one prior to being put to sleep because she was scared and I am not sure why I was not given the option to put her in a gown after she was asleep or why the staff did not place her in a gown. I understand that is in fact what was going to happen but there is a better way to deal with children and I would expect much more from a Pediatric Dental Surgery Center. The surgery went well and all was done as expected. My daughter woke up hysterical and still scared for her life. She had urinated in her pants and had no clothes to wear home. After this terrible experience I called and spoke with the Office Manager Diana on 5/20/2020 and she felt terrible and agreed this was wrong. I asked for refund on my Anesthesia fees because it was pointless to have done under Anesthesia because my daughter was traumatized beyond what she would've been at the dentist office without it. She stated that she would talk to her team about this, that she could refund me, and would get back to me in a few days. I have not heard from her again. I tried to call again on 6/11/2020 and left a voicemail with no return phone call. I would not take your children here for dental work and I will be sure to let the office that referred me here know about this experience. read more

Everything was cool until they actually did the work on my son. They told me it was only 3 fillings then I run into the dentist and he says it all went well and he did 3 filling and 1 crown....i was like what are you talking about your assistant said it was only 3 fillings and that was his plan all along. So the receptionist says if it's to deep of a cavity then they would have to do it, but my complaint is why was I told one thing and then another was done. I'm the parents this experience is hard enough to go through without getting a play by play of your child. Plus the wait is ridiculous when you think about how long these kids go without eating and how far away we are for them not to make you feel at ease that the communication will be there. read more

I had to bring my daughter in for X-rays, a tooth extraction, and a crown. They gave me an appointment quickly, they honored appointment times, they over prepared me for the wait time so we came prepared for a long wait but it actually was not so bad, the staff was all friendly. I was not super excited to leave my 6year old with random people during her little surgery but the anesthesiologist and dr made me feel comfortable right before her turn. The person who left the biggest impression, however, was the nurse who was with my girl as she was waking up from anesthesia, she was friendly and caring and im glad my daughter had her there when she first woke up from it. read more

Staff was very patient with my 3yr old daughter who has anxiety when it comes to Dr.'s offices who was already throwing a crying fit outside because she was scared. They made me feel comfortable by explaining step by step each procedure. The part I loved the most was how the nurse was very comforting to my daughter when she was waking up out from recovery. She was so caring and gentle she rocked her in her arms until I came to carry her out. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because we checked in at 7:15 my daughters appointment was at 7:30 they didn't start the procedure until 10:15 and she kept telling me she was hungry and thirsty the whole time we were in the waiting room because she had been fasting since 11pm the night before. read more

I was absolutely happy with our experience at this Surgery Center ! It was a very clean and sterile environment. The timing of every patient was perfect to where you weren't waiting in a room full of people. The wait time wasn't as long as anticipated either, which was a big plus for us considering toddlers have little to no patience. I had received a referral for my son to get his tooth taken out and I did everthing they asked and because my son has microcephaly they told me i had to get medical clearance. so I scheduled an appointment with his pediatrician and I got the full clearance. Monday they said everything looked great just sending a referral for him to go under through my health insurance. Tuesday comes around and they called staying they cant see him due to them feeling uncomfortable treating him and told me to find somewhere else. Originally they told me it was the anesthesiologist that did want to but when I called back to told to someone higher up and that when I was told it was the medical director. so for one they couldn't even get the story straight. They didn't want to treat my son due to him have a disability and they also turned away my nephew when he got medical clearance as well. They are discriminating against child that get cleared but won't treat them because of they're disabilities and that does in fact go against the discrimination act. Do not waste your time going here on especially for your child has a medical problem because they don't want anything to do with them. read more

Worse experience ever! Front office staff doesn't like being called out on their short comings. Office Manager was extremely rude. When she asked about their inability to schedule, she became even more defensive . Multiple people in the waiting room. All either a 9am or 9:30 am appointment time. Due to the sensitivity of the procedure a child cannot eat after midnight. Come 2pm in the afternoon my child was still not seen. Finally, at 3 pm we were called back. Our appointment was 9:30am. I was then advised that they wouldn't do the procedure because my child had left the building twice to go out to the car to see her relative waiting out there. They don't allow more than one person into the office. They then said that older children go last because they are older. So why have us there at 9:30 am? A young child should not have to go without food/water all day long. Maybe they shouldn't schedule so many in one day. They definitely in it for the money only. When I told them I was going to file a complaint..they pointed to a sign on the counter with the medical boards phone number. Something tells me I'm not the first person to complain. read more

I would give this place less than one star but it will not let me. Very poorly managed dental center, If I were the dentist I would fire the office manager and all the staff. Appointments are overbooked and you may have to wait hours after your appointment time to be seen. Because the dentist time is valuable, YOUR TIME HAS NO VALUE. They call the wrong number to remind of the appointment and then cancel without trying to find the right number. Stay away from this place, we drove 2 hrs one way from home our appt is at 10am, its 4pm, and they still havent called our kid to be seen. Their is only one dr to examine and operate on the kids, the waiting room is full of people waiting. Kids are fasting and crying. This is the most dishonest and disorganized place. If you want to wait for hours with your kid fasting, crying that they are hungry and need water, i am sure no matter who you are you will get pissed off. Customer service sucks... #1; my daughters appoitment was at 8:30am; she didnt go back for "pre-op" untill 11:45am (mind you, she hadnt ate/or drank anything since about 7:30ish the night pior) #2; the procedure itself, we didnt get callef back till 1:35pm, the staff in the back, they deserve the credit they were amazing made me n my daughter feel comfortable and safe, we didnt leave untill 3:30pm... A little ridiculous for some cavaties to be filled.... I asked multiple times "if this is normal" & was informed rudly "there is a 2 to 5 hour window from begining to end". Well if it is explained pior, i believe they'd have better reviews and happier patients... Never taking either of my children again, i will drive to Loma Linda and deal with them next time around.... Complte b.s if you ask me.... And also to top it off, at one point in this 7 hour "procedure"(which took 30 mins, and 30-45 mins for her to wake up) i asked if we could just leave and schdule with Loma Linda and was told "you will need to pay a $50 CANCELATION FEE" so long story short, DONT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE. read more

I should have read the reviews first. First of all the purpose of an appointment is you get in at a prompt time and avoid waiting for too long, but this place is setting appointment for kids who have not eaten the night beforehand and make them wait 3-5 hours of their appointment time. I cannot stress much how frustrating it is as a parent to see your child get hungry and tries to sleep the hunger from waiting. It is ver unprofessional for a place like this. This place is so unorganized. We tried to set up an appointment for our daughter who needs surgery asap. And I mean like yesterday. Its been nearly 30 days and we haven't heard anything. When we contact them they say that there's no info on our daughter. Although they confirmed days prior that they received it. They even said "if you had medical it would be easy but since you have private insurance its a process" so we're getting penalized for finally having private insurance. With my daughter here today, last year with my son, awesome professional staff, sweetest and most patient nurses. I don't know how these girls keep their composure with these rude and disrespectful parents, obviously it's going to be awhile and the amount spent with each child will vary so they can't predict how much time is necessary with each child till they get in there to see. My kids dentist tries to send me to Loma Linda due to it being closer but I'd rather drive the hour out here because both experiences have been great. Heads up expect to spend most of the day here remember your child is being sedated and not everyone reacts the same but the outcome of your child's smile is worth it. I came here after a bad experience from another office, which my child was not able to be attended due to lack of the services that my regular dentist provided. So we were referred to Indio Surgery Center . Where we got a fast scheduled appt and once we arrived, they took superb care of my child. Dr. Appleton was awesome and answered all my questions. I felt very safe with the treatment that was given. My nurse was so helpful and kind, but most of all my son was in the best hands of professional staff and such a clean environment. My son got transferred to go here by his dentist. We scheduled an appointment pretty early. When we arrived, they were performing very safe procedures as a response to COVID-19. Checking our temperatures, and making sure we are wearing masks and are maintaining social distancing. Keep in mind that only 1 parent can enter. Next, we waited for a little bit. After some time passed, my son was taken into a room where they checked his heart rate, asked some questions, etc. After that we had to sit in the waiting room until 12:00pm. Pretty long wait. This is the only reason why I'm giving them 4 stars. So my son was just taken in that same room to change into a gown. Then they asked me some questions regarding to anesthesia. After that the dentist (Dr. Jino Park) took a look at my son's teeth, and explained some brief details on what he's going to perform . Dr. Jino Park was very kind and sweet! Then, I had to wait for a bit while my son was with his dentist. Around 30 minutes later, I got a look at my son's teeth and what was going to be done. The lady in the front told me I could go get something to eat, while my son was in surgery. The surgery took approximately 1 hour. While in the car waiting, Dr. Jino Park came by to tell us what he performed on my son's teeth. Which I really appreciate! After an hour, we came by to pick up my son and drove him home. They also gave us directions on what to do. All in all, I recommend this place. The only con is the waiting time, even when it's not that busy. But I fully understand! The waiting is the hardest part. We spent about 3 hours in the waiting room before he was finally seen but it was well worth it. I spoke to multiple nurses and doctors about the dental work that needed to be done and they explained every detail about the anesthesia and the procedure. They were kind and it was very obvious they are passionate about their work. My son is doing very well and its all thanks to the indio surgery center. Had a very great experience here. My 2 year old daughter had chipped her tooth and had to get a root canal and be put under. The doctors and dentist were so nice and caring. This place is a joke so unprofessional over the phone. I have been trying to schedule an appointment for about a month. No one ever calls me back they have supposedly been trying to get a pre Auth from my insurance I kept calling to follow up and 3 weeks later they said they were still working on it and I would receive a call back that same day.
