Authentic and very good food, attentive service. The only issue is that they're still serving on cheap styrofoam, plastic and paper disposable dinnerware. All other restaurants are back to using regular dinnerware but I think Indra found it more convenient and are sticking to it, even if no longer necessary. It's tacky and informal, I think it changes the flavor of the food too, not enjoyable. Not to mention how it pollutes the environment, they're not even using the eco friendly or biodegradable kind. I won't go back until they start using more formal dinnerware. It's a shame because I really like it, we've been regulars for many years. read more

I have been coming here for over 30 years since I was a teen, and I must say the food is still good. I have since moved out of the area, I was glad to taste the green curry chicken again. The wonton soup was also tasty. I'll let the pics speak for themselves, they say, ''you eat with your eyes first." The taste is distinctly Indra, and I have yet to find it's equivalent in West Covina. 4 for the food taste. It satisfies you when you have a crave for Thai food. Ive tried their pad see ew, pad kra pao, Thai ice tea, and mango sticky rice, and seafood curry in clay plate - I like them. The fillet fish with ginger is okay... nothing great about it. I wouldn't ordered again. I probably tried a few other dishes but couldn't remember (and that means they were just okay). 3.5 for the place itself. This place been there for probably 30 years, I heard. It's an okay place not a fancy restaurant. Restroom is small but pretty clean. 3 for the service. Unfortunately, they are slow and I think maybe they're understaffed. I understand things are hard recently and they have to make some adjustments but yeah, sometimes it can take too long. Went here on Mother's Day with my parents and boyfriend. It wasn't too packed, but the service was too slow for our liking. They not only had options for dine ins, but they also have the option to do take out since they have a case filled with food you can pick from to get it to go when you first enter the restaurant. Other than the slow service, the food was really good and we just ordered enough for our small group. We ordered the Calamari de Thai, pork ribs, seafood curry, fried fish with garlic chili sauce, pad thai, steamed rice, and ended the meal with fried bananas and sticky rice with mango. My absolute fave was definitely the seafood curry and I just loved the presentation of it as well. It was creamy and served in this platter with little pot covers and under each was a scoop of seafood curry. Super hard to explain, but that's why I took pics! I called and spoked to the manager and her answer was "oh it's like that" Portion wasn't enough for two, I tried explaining but she wouldn't hear me. This is exactly why I rather not do take out. I am very surprised to see so many positive reviews. My parents and I didn't think so when we ate at this restaurant last month while we were staying at a nearby hotel. We ordered one of their combinations and the Pad Thai. Both were just OK. Also, the portions weren't large and overpriced. Not sure what happened, but I'm thinking they are now under new management or have new cooks? When we came to pick up our food we noticed it wasn't the usual older ladies inside. We ordered from here the other week and got the usual spicy catfish and pork ribs. The fish was cooked a little differently and for a lack of better words the fish tasted muddy. Now, I haven't eaten mud before but if I had to guess how it tasted, the fish tasted like it. And unfortunately we ordered 2 orders! The pork ribs were still good but also cooked a little differently, they were not as fried as they usually are. Didn't really care for their version of the thai iced tea. It was a darker color, served in a small cup. Tasted kinda funny =/ I was here a year ago, and I swear they had a better kind of thai tea, you know, the "normal" looking color! Their seafood curry was pretty darn good. I totally love their presentation of it as well. But they don't give a whole bunch of it =( The drunken noodles taste virtually the same as pad see ew. Wish there was more of a distinct difference. Unbelievable food in an extremely underwhelming setting. Standout dishes I have had so far are the Beef Numtok, Cha Cha Fish, and Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork (pork belly). I can't believe the quality of the food. The nuance and richness of the flavors in these dishes was extraordinary. I'll try more. This is one of those places we've been coming to since the 80's. But it ends here. This place has always had bad customer service, very rarely are they decent. But we come because the food is tasty but having to endure their poor service and rudeness is too much and no longer deserves our future visits. Since the pandemic, they have been serving sitdown but in to-go ware. Every other place we have ever gone in 2021 has stop this ridiculous practice but they continue to do so. This place will say they can give you crispy fried Tofu but they don't. I ordered 2 dishes there and it was my first time. I confirmed fried crispy tofu 2x and they just lied instead of telling me they use soft and low quality tofu. Avoid this place if you want a good tofu dish done right. Ordered two beef panang curry for takeout. It was the worst panang curry I have ever seen. We received two very small bowls of simply beef in oil. There were no vegetables or rice. It did not even contain the coconut milk that is essential to make a panang curry. Each cup of beef oil costs more than $15 (around $38 total plus tip) not including rice. We ended up having to make our own curry and rice when we got home because the food received was not a meal. To top off our disappointment, we called the restaurant to tell them about the mistake and they tried to tell us this is how the panang curry should be. I grew up eating panang curry and I know what it should look like. There are easily 3 thai food places within 2 miles of this spot that give better quality and quantity. I've been coming here for almost 30 yrs. I used to live in Glendale and would eat here several times a week. I now live in the South Bay, but still come here since I work in Pasadena. They have the best fishcake curry! Also love their pork ribs and chicken curry. The restaurant has been recently remodeled, and the prices now slightly higher. Still my favorite restaurant! At first the smell of the dish is unusual but the taste is amazing. Another signature dish is their Fried Shell Shrimp. This has to be the most favorable dish they offer and I always get this every time I dine there. The prices average around $6 - $9 dollars for most of their selections with the Haw Mok Talay being the most expensive at $14.95 The service is always great here. Usually it's all nicely cooked and such, but the egg that night was all messy and runny on the noodles. The menu says something along the lines of "due to familiarity, american broccoli will be used, but chinese broccoli available upon request," so I was like oh great, I like american broccoli way better than chinese broccoli, but guess what? I GOT CHINESE BROCCOLI INSTEAD!! WTF WTF WTF!! So I'm asian enough to get chinese broccoli without asking for it, but not asian enough to get a pair of chopsticks? Interesting... Now about the non-noodle dishes... The ginger chicken was too "oystery," so if you loooove extra oyster sauce flavor and ginger, go right ahead and enjoy that dish. The garlic beef was good, though the portion looked smaller than the rest of the dishes. The chicken satay seemed a bit dry compared to the other chicken satays that I've had elsewhere. The thai tea was sooooo bad! It was very diluted and it just tasted like sugar water with some milk. Where did that wonderful thai tea flavor go? Certainly not at Indra! Oh yeah, the boba was dry as well. Comes in a clay pot with individual clay covers per serving. You have to check it out to describe it. Looks like a lot of little huts. Now normally I don't prefer beef panang, but the one here is just perfect! The beef was tender and the sauce wasn't too spicy. I also ordered the pad thai and it was delicious. If you're thirsty, I highly recommend the thai iced tea! It's the best I've ever had in the Glendale area. The only thing I regret is not making my normal cup size a large. read more
