*this review is just about the viet coffee* My guy wanted some viet coffee so we made a stop here. I'm super picky with my viet coffee, but I enjoyed the one from here. Not the best I've had, but I ended up drinking more of it than I had planned. I'm definitely not normally a coffee drinker. Would like to come back here to try the food sometime.

The Original: Why Pho Hut is the Only Heart You Need in Glendale ------ A good bowl of pho will always make me happy, take me to that special place where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts." Anthony Bourdain was right, of course. It's a special kind of magic. But you don't find that special place in a sterile, centrally-kitchened, corporate-optimized noodle factory. You find it in places with grit. Places with heart. You find it behind an unassuming glass storefront on the boulevard, under a simple green sign. In Glendale, that place is, without question, Pho Hut. The First and the Few // They aren't newcomers riding a trend. Pho Hut is the O.G.--the original pho spot in Glendale, holding it down since 2007. They are specialized practitioners, not generalists trying to please everyone. When you speak to the owner, you immediately understand the philosophy that drives the place: "There is no bad food--only food made with or without heart." His mission is beautiful and simple: use this food to educate the community on what real Vietnamese cuisine is supposed to taste like. The Vibe and the Fuel // [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is exactly what it needs to be: clean, simple, and functional. Wood-paneled wainscoting, hanging industrial-style lamps, and a few canvases of fishermen casting nets at sunset.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a dining room built for eating, not for Instagram. Before the main event, you get your mind right with a deeply roasted, unforgivingly strong, and beautifully sweet Vietnamese iced coffee. It's a pulse-quickening caffeine hit that wakes up the palate and sets the stage for the heavy lifting to come. The Daily Labor of Love // While the big chains are busy maximizing efficiency with pre-made, industrialized broths shipped in plastic bags from a central facility, Pho Hut is engaged in a daily labor of love. They make everything from scratch. Every broth is created daily, simmering and developing over 20 hours. It is a painstaking, exhausting process, but you cannot fake that depth. It isn't optimized for profit; it's optimized for taste. The Specialist's Table // If you want the titans of texture and flavor, this is your table. We're talking pho with melt-in-your-mouth Filet Mignon and massive, rich Beef Ribs that make standard cuts look pale in comparison. The tripe and tendons are masters of their craft--tender, yielding, yet still retaining that necessary, authentic bite. But the absolute hidden gem of Glendale? The Oxtail. If you know, you know. It is rich, cartilaginous, and deep--a treasure buried at the heart of the original spot. The Ritual // There is a beautiful, necessary ritual when the steaming bowl finally hits the table. The tabletop battle station is already prepped: Sriracha, Lee Kum Kee Hoisin, and chili paste standing at attention. The process is critical. You take that side plate of vibrant, fresh herbs and plunge every single basil leaf and crisp bean sprout deep into the hot broth. You aggressively squeeze the citrus and drop the spent hull right in for that sharp, acidic punch. The jalapeños? Those are eaten separately on the side--a necessary, raw heat that accompanies every complex bite of meat and noodle. The Verdict // The service here completes the experience. It has a personal touch that you rarely find anymore--it feels less like a transaction and more like a relative bringing you a bowl at a family gathering. If you are seeking a bowl that will truly take you to that special place Bourdain spoke of, skip the chains. Go to the original. Go to Pho Hut, watch them work, and eat a bowl made with a damn heart.

I usually do build your own. I like both chicken and beef broth so it doesn't really matter which one. I order it with broccoli, tendon, and flank. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is clean and the service is good and there is always a place to sit down, even on busy days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

If you we want yo have a bad experience go to this restaurant We visited a Vietnamese restaurant called Pho Hut in Glendale, California, hoping to find an authentic local Vietnamese spot, especially since my husband and I love Vietnamese soups. We ordered the largest soups for ourselves and a friend and everything was ordered politely and respectfully. When the soups arrived, we were given only two very small slices of lime and part of another small piece, which was clearly not enough for three large bowls of soup. So we calmly asked for some extra lime. Instead of a normal response, the waiter, a man who always wears fake luxury brand clothing, brought two large plates filled with cut limes, far more than what we asked for or needed. What shocked us was not the amount, but his behavior. He aggressively pushed the plates toward the table, almost slamming them down, in a very rude and hostile way.We were all stunned. We looked at each other, confused, wondering what just happened and why he reacted like that. It was extremely uncomfortable and honestly a behavior I have never experienced anywhere else in my life. Neither my husband nor our friends had ever seen anything like it. We had done nothing disrespectful, said nothing rude, and simply made a normal request.I later asked another staff member, a female waitress, if everything was okay with him. She replied, "Don't mind him," which made it clear that this behavior is known there. That made the situation even more upsetting. We live in the United States, and basic customer service and respect should not be optional. We did not go there expecting free food. We went as paying customers, treated the staff politely, and even left a full tip despite the way we were treated, simply because we believe in proper manners and respect.Unfortunately, this was not a one time experience. When we went there again, the same waiter behaved in a similarly rude and disrespectful way. I believe he is an employee, but I truly do not know who hired him, what qualifications they saw in him, or whether he is a family member or even the owner. I honestly hope he is not the owner, because the way he treated us was unacceptable. There are many Vietnamese restaurants out there, and we have had wonderful experiences at other places where we were treated with kindness and respect. Poor service like this only hurts the restaurant in the long run. I hope that if the manager or owner reads this, they take this seriously and make sure no other customers have to go through such an unpleasant experience. We will not be returning, but I genuinely hope others are spared from having the same experience. If I could, I would give this place a zero star sadly we don't have that option

Great pho spot on Brand in Glendale. The ambiance itself is a typical pho place, no frills. The crispy egg rolls were fresh and delicious. I had the seafood pho and my friend had brisket and steak pho. The regular portions were a good size. The broth wasn't as flavorful as I usually prefer, but with some Sricha sauce, it was nice and flavorful. Service was super quick and friendly.

We've been here a couple of times since my daughter loves pho. We usually get the Pho Hut special, egg rolls, and spring rolls plus milk tea. Food is flavorful even the condiments (peanut sauce and vinegar for the rolls). Service is fast too. We really like it when the soup is served hot! Price is reasonable and portioning is just right.

Ordered the Salad Rolls and Steak Bahn Mi on the cashiers suggestion for about $20. The spring rolls were big and packed full of tofu, but it was almost entirely shredded lettuce which was disappointing. Bahn Mi had a good flavor and had a lot of gristle. I ordered to go and it took a while for it to come out, but the restaurant was quiet and had the original Sonic Cartoon playing so it was a nice wait.

My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to Korean food for dinner and typically we would go to Jincook, but I wanted to try something different. I found K-Street on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. There's plenty of parking in a safe parking garage which is nice! We arrived to the restaurant at around 8pm? Upon walking in we saw that they have a B rating so my boyfriend was a bit weary of eating there. Upon walking in, it was completely empty-- understandable because it was a Wednesday night. The server was a super nice woman who gave us recommendations and explained things I needed clarification for. The restaurant was cute, had street signs for streets in Korea and a huge projector that screened music videos on the wall. I'm sure the place is usually poppin' on nights when it's busy! It was really quiet because we were the only ones there but the music was a nice addition to break the silence. My boyfriend ordered the Bulgogi Dolsot, which is bulgogi with rice in a hot stone. He said the bulgogi had great flavors and the crispy rice was his favorite! The bulgogi wasn't fatty or too tough, he loved that they didn't skimp on the meat. I ordered the Hot Pot Bulgogi, it was a soup with bulgogi, some rice cakes, and some noodles. It was served with rice, but I skipped on eating the rice. The soup to me was a bit too salty! It had great umami flavor and depth to the rich flavor but I needed lemon or vinegar to break up the saltiness. The bulgogi in the soup was nice and tender, I ate basically all of the bulgogi. The rice cakes were nice and chewy, and the noodles made it feel like a complete meal. Was it worth $22? Not to me, for what it was I think it should've been around $15. The also gave us complementary banchan, but it wasn't the best. I understand we were only two people and they were bottomless, but 4 small pieces of pickled radish and 2 bites of kimchi? I could've easily eaten 5 plates of each but I didn't want the server constantly coming back to bring us more. Again, we were the only ones there so I didn't want to feel like a burden. Would I come back here again? Unfortunately not. My first impression at K-Street wasn't the best and there are plenty Korean restaurants that I personally like!

They share a restaurant space with a Korean corn dog spot which is a little confusing, but what's…read moremore confusing is how this place is super inconspicuous. You could easily walk past it and you wouldn't even know. That said, the food is pretty good. My one and only gripe however is that for some reason they do not offer pick up orders to be placed by phone OR on delivery apps. It's the strangest thing, and having to go into the restaurant in person to order to-go is a big inconvenience. I typically order the Chadol BBQ. Not many korean restaurants offer brisket (it's usually bulgogi, galbi, or chicken). So whenever I have a hankering for brisket but not AYCE, I know where to go. The brisket is tender and usually not overcooked. Their steamed mandu is chicken and pork. It's nothing special but you get exactly what you expect. Parking is pretty convenient in the parking garage right above it, with the first 45m free (no validation required).

The wings were huge, perfectly seasoned, crispy, and fresh out of the fryer. I'd order them every time. My only small criticism is the pricing. Some dishes are on the expensive side. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor. The meat seemed more steamed than grilled, and not even vinegar or chili oil could save it for me. Other than that, everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.
