It has changed - after the pandemic, the vibes and atmosphere is not what it was back in the 70s,80s,9Os,00s! and since the lovely owners passings. The food remains the same though. Many of us in the area grew up on Indra! We had Hundreds of family dinners there! The cravings for Indra will always be there for us! Garlic fried ribs, tofu soup, crispy pork with broccoli, tom kha, garlic beef, pad se eww, spicy bamboo chicken ( not on menu ) , fried fish, crispy pork bits prik king ( in container on counter), shrimp prik king, braised eggplant, tom yum, so many too name. I usually order tom ka to get an idea of the quality of food. The tom ka here could be best summed up with one word: meh. It was not lively, barely sweet, barely spicy, the vegetables and chicken were tired. This place is how you would expect Applebee's to do Thai food. The papaya salad was equally unremarkable. Fried rice, same. The only dish we had that was somewhat palatable was the eggplant curry. It had the consistency of the tom ka but the vegetables were fresh and seemed to have a little spice. It was more of a soup than typical curry dish. I ate it with the soup bowl and spoon. The pad see was tired, with withered overcooked broccoli and a thick gooey gray sauce covering the overcooked noodles. It was very bland. There may be better choices off the menu, but we will not be returning to find out. read more

I used to love this place, we've been coming here for the last 40 plus years frequently. I hate to see an establishment go down the drain. It seems like for a while the owner's son took over the cooking/kitchen & diff chefs. I stopped coming to this place because everyone retired the chef, the owner died, the service staff quit and the overall ambience and food changed. It was inconsistent and the food was not good anymore the way it used to. Today, a day after Thanksgiving I decided to try again bec i feel nostalgic for some reason. I was pleasantly surprised because my favorite dishes are coming back to life. The catfish & the beef red curry(panang)... I remember the way it used to, not 100% but it's almost there and worth coming back. I talked to the wife of the son who took over and apparently INDRA has a new chef of two years. I certainly wish that there's hope for this establishment to be resurrected. You old patrons & loyal followers of INDRA come and try again this old beloved Thai establishment. Does anyone know if this place is under new ownership? We have been coming here for about 44 years. We know the owner but haven't seen her in years!! About half of those years, after we moved from the area, we drove about 45 minutes for the good food. However, for the past two years, we have been disappointed!! The cat fish tastes muddy - not crispy and garlicky as it was in the past! The chicken curry with bamboo shoots lacks the lime leaf flavor and the slight sweetness from palm sugar which adds a nice balance to curry. The beef prik king was just okay but had better flavor, however lacking the spiciness we asked for. The shrimp fried rice was a joke! Come on now - Thai fried rice is supposed to better than what was served - simply white rice swirled with egg and oil! Disgusting! Where are the vegetables? Even carrot and peas would have satisfied!! Even Panda Express has better fried rice!! The so called spicy squid with Mint had curled up calamari that looked alien like! It's truly a gem. I hold alot of fond memories from coming here with friends and family since the 90s. The food and service is excellent. I ordered to-go for Mother's Day. They had a 7% discount special for the entire bill, which was a huge plus. We go here often, which is why my mom picked this place for Mother's Day. I placed an order the day before. Everything was ready by the time I got there. The portions are big for the price you pay. I absolutely adored the Garlic Pork Ribs. It is juicy with the right amount of Garlic. The Chicken BBQ was huge and flavorful. The Pad See You had a generous amount of protein with the right amount of saltiness and greasiness. My Mom's favorite is the Beef Salad because of the variety of vegetables and the tender beef. The Crab Fried Rice HAS REAL CRAB! It is so flavorful that you can eat it by itself, so good! Make sure to ask for their Chili Paste and Vinegar with jalapeños since they both can go well with any of these dishes. I also like to get the Fried Banana with Sesame seeds since their bananas they use are not too ripe. Thai Iced Tea is a must as well! It has less sweetness and more of that Thai Iced Tea flavor. This review is loooooong overdue! I have been going to this restaurant since the 90's. When I first visited this restaurant...the staff don't speak very good English and the owner's children were very young. Fast forward...the owner and some of the original staff have retired and the owner's children are all grown up with their own children! This place has stayed true to their DNA from day 1...serving delicious Thai food at an affordable price. It doesn't matter where I moved...I drive to this location when I want authentic Thai food. My fave here is the chicken chili garlic (I think they're calling it Krapow now). It stayed consistent and yummy since I first discovered this dish back in the 90's. I have tried dishes like chicken chili garlic in other Thai restaurants but for some reason...it's not the same. It's a small hole in wall Thai restaurant with easy parking. Food stayed consisted and still affordable (especially in today's inflation). I pray this restaurant never close and I already told my hubby that if he moved me farther from this place...we'll probably need to order it and ship frozen so I'll survive! There's so many Thai restaurants that come and go. But this place stayed strong during the pandemic and continue to serve delicious authentic Thai food that's good to your belly at a price that's kind to your wallet. My family has been coming here for years, it was our go-to spot for family occasions. Honestly, I haven't been back here very often ever since our family moved further away but the food has been the same since. It is SO good, i highly recommend the seafood curry as it is their well known dish. You really can't find it anywhere else. I got the Prik King lunch special with veggie and loved it so much. I ate the entire thing, I felt it was a very good portion for lunch, but it was too good not to finish. What can I say about this place! First off let me say this, I have been going here since I was 14 in 2004. I always did my laundry at the corner laundromat next to it! I've probably seen that place have three different owners but anyways. Indra, my go to thai spot when I used to live in glendale. Even now 2021 I still go there and I don't live in glendale anymore. Everything is good here! But my main go to for a long time is the same thing I get all the time. The beef Pad see ew with tofu and two Chile sauce poured over it! The food wasn't really good. I ordered the Pad Thai lunch special for $10 and it's super bland. No flavor of sweet and sour like other Thai restaurants I've been to. The noodles seem overcooked and the chicken wasn't great. I ate a couple of bites and than threw the food away (which I rarely do. I don't like to waste food but for rare times) since it just was that bad. The lunch price is fair but I wouldn't order this again or come back here.
