If you're on the Southside of Indy and particularly want authentic Muay Thai (on top of BJJ +…read moreBoxing), this is the place I would recommend. I was in town visiting family still in the Greenwood area and didn't think I'd be able to find any gym nearby with good bags to train on. I'm coming from the old Fairtex camps out of NorCal and was happy to see they had a Fairtex banana bag and similar heavy bags setup to hit on. They even had 3 separate speed bag stations (for varying heights) with the smaller, quicker speed bags which are great to use. Kru Ian was very hospitable. Took time to even chat it up a bit on top of giving pointer (and reminder!) on my "lazy" teep! If you want to get in shape and learn 1 of the best martial arts for self-defense and/or be a competitive fighter, Muay Thai with a supplemental foundation in Western Boxing is where it's at IMHO. You are NEVER too old. I'm 52 and even new members I meet think I'm in my 30s. Kru Ian is in his mid-40s and could easily pass for 30! Thank you Sir. I am very grateful for your time and use of your facility! -Edgar https://www.beatsbysiredgar.love/ Yelp's #1 Ranked DJ for Napa Yelp's #1 Ranked DJ for Calistoga Yelp's #1 Ranked DJ for St. Helena Yelp's #1 Ranked DJ for Yountville Yelp's #1 Ranked DJ for San Francisco Yelp's #1 Ranked DJ for Palo Alto Training out of KOA Fitness, Newark CA

I'm still very new to this gym but am loving it so far. I signed up for the trial month which I…read morethink is $67 and includes gloves and wraps. A few things I appreciate about this specific gym: 1. Personal greetings from the trainers and receiving occasional texts checking in. Accountability is key and it really helps me when I feel like I have someone who helps hold me accountable to my goals. 2. The gym is small but never really feels crowded because of how fast each round goes by. The 3 minutes in each round with a small break in between helps the workouts feel super manageable. 3. The workouts change every day and I know that even though it's 30 minutes, I'm getting a GREAT workout. I've been feeling sore (in a good way) as my body adjusts to this. And because it's only 30 minutes it's very easy to work into your schedule. 4. You can go as many times as you want during their open hours which is stellar. 5. I've met Mindy and Sadie and they are both wonderful! Looking forward to my next workout!

9round is a HIIT gym with a focus on kick boxing. There are 9 rounds each 3 minutes long and a 30…read moresecond active rest break between. You're able to get a great workout in 30 minutes, I'll typically get around 400 calories per round but have gotten up to the 600's depending on the day. The workouts change each day so you'll be able to get something different each day. 6 out of the 9 rounds will use bags and the others are a jump rope, core, and free weights. Kickboxing is a great workout overall and I can't emphasis enough the stress relief it'll provide! The workout will hit a little bit of everything with arms, legs, and core. There are no class times so you'll be able to come in whenever it's open. The hours vary but typically will be open early in the morning and later in the evening. I will say what gives this gym 5 stars is the 2 primary trainers there, Sadie and Savannah. Although they are younger l, it's clear they have a strong interest in the field and wanting to help you achieve your fitness goals. They quickly offer easier alternatives for injuries and more challenging progressions if you want to repeat the cycle a 2nd time. They also are very good with feedback on proper boxing techniques as well.

I've been a member for almost 2 years, and barring vacations and sickness, I would consider myself a regular. ME! The gym is open different hours each day: Monday 8a-12p, 4p-8p Tuesday 4p-8p Wednesday 8a-12p, 4p-8p Thursday 4p-8p Friday 8a-12p Saturday 8a-12p The premise is an all women's gym of boxing, kickboxing, self-defense at stations, all completed in 30 minutes. There is a trainer on the floor with you at all times, and they are wonderful at changing up the moves for you based on your abilities. You are at each station for 2 minutes, changing from single to double time every 15 seconds. Rest for 15 seconds, move on to the next station. Rinse and repeat. The owners, Matt and Tami, the trainers, and the HIT community are all amazing. You can come in at anytime during open hours (no sign ups necessary), and as many days each week as you'd like. There's also an option to do Hit at Home. The gym is very clean, and parking is available right outside the door. Your first workout is a free trial - give it a try and find out for yourself how great it is!
