That said, this has nothing to do with the staff.. the front desk is very friendly, and the instructor I had for yin was wonderful. No complaints there at all. I'd probably avoid this particular location moving forward though, that's all.

I'd had a bad experience at the Pasadena studio with a girl named Megan, so I decided to try a different location, and I'm so glad I did. This studio is waaaay cleaner. The mat towels smelled fresh, everything felt sanitized, and the space was clearly well taken care of. My instructor, Jimmy, delivered an amazing workout, he incorporated moves I've never seen before and actually walked around correcting form, which is rare in larger fitness classes. He was fun, energetic, and really set the tone. Playlist was baddie certified! LOVED him! I also appreciated how well maintained everything was, soaps fully stocked, cozy studio rooms, and an overall vibe that felt intentional and inviting. I think this might be my new go to location. I don't even mind the drive :)

The Ketchum location, named after the late Stuart M Ketchum, a huge philanthropist, civic leader and real estate mogul. Is very modern and stylish on the outside and the in. If you want to volunteer for various programs you can do so via their online portal. Opportunities from Sports Assistant to Food Distribution and more. YMCA Downtown LA partners up with great groups such as the LA Food Bank, LA Civil Rights, Students Run LA, American Red Cross and numerous others. Passing through on a Saturday morning, the fitness area was filled. And they offer some great wellness programs including group exercise, various indoor sports and even online programs. Check out their youth and adult programs ranging from hobbies and sports to summer camps and workshops. Additionally the DTLA Y has monthly, annual and day pass memberships. And their layout as well as the outdoor landscape with beautiful statues, colors, designs, etc... that make all feel welcome.

The manager straight-up lied to to me in a phone call and refused to escalate my situation when I showed him my cancelation date. This is a very common problem with this company, definitely take your membership elsewhere. The collection agency they have hired will break the Rosenthal Act and harass you.
