'Disconnected gas service for a past due bill of $46.22. Charged me $50 re connection fee and had to miss a days work to meet local gas company to turn back on. In essence they charged me $300 late fee on a past due amount of $46.22. Slimy. Nasty. Worthless.' Paid bill. Infinite energy sent me a confirmation email service will be restored between the hours of 12-4, someone must be home. I waited all day. No one showed. I had Infinity energy install solar panels on 09/04/2022 and as of 05/17/2023 I still don't have a PTO. They have failed the inspection 5 times, the last tech that tried to fix the problem, calls on the phone and tells me he can't fix the problem. He wouldn't even come to the door and tell me. Said I need to reschedule, I call their customer service and ask what's the problem they have no answer. Also complained twice to the State Contractor Board. read more

Typical use of small print to take advantage of the customer even when there was an issue on their side. I joined Infinite Energy because it was my only option. When I was signing up, they had luring plans that gifted you a Nest item on sign-up, so I took a Nest Camera. Of course, silly me assumed it came with no strings attached. This item broke 3 months later. I didn't give it much thought, since it was free. However, 6 months into my lease, I had to move out for personal reasons. I was hit by all the usual early termination fees from the apartment complex, and on top of that Infinite Energy charged me for the Nest camera that was supposedly free, giving me no option to return it, even though it broke 3 months in! Another sad company with no respect for their customers. They have turned their backs on me after asking for an explanation and disagreeing with them that this is wrong and even if it's legal, it doesn't make it right. Will never use this company again. I signed a two year agreement last year (after asking for a year agreement & was told I couldn't) & ended up moving back home a year into the contract. the kind people (sarcasm) told me if showed I was moving to an area they didn't offer service they'd wave my early termination fee. so I provided this to them & then they tell me I will have to pay the NEST recovery fee. Funny thing is when I signed up for this service I was told this was free. Kinda like those people who give you gifts then hold it over your head & want to get it back or make you pay. And to add to it, after providing my documentation to show I was moving to an area they don't service, they slap a late fee on my last bill. When prior conversations with reps for this horrendous company said we'll send your final bill upon review of the documents you provided. And my final bill shows gas usage for the month of June - I haven't lived in that place all June.. I moved out may 31st. It just baffles me that they treat their customers, especially customers who ALWAYS pay on time & pay early every time, this way. So here is a company making a fresh out of college woman pay $189 bucks for some bs "free" gift. Terrible company, they charge for way more than just your usage. Base charges & customer service charges ON TOP OF your usage. They commit you to a contract that includes an "early termination fee" that they don't tell you about. If you get the Nest, they tell you it is free & it is yours to keep. Until you want to cancel & they want to charge you an un-waivable "recovery fee" for it. Another thing they don't tell you. You can't send it back. You're stuck with it & with Infinite Energy's ridiculous & expensive fees. Good luck finding any kind of contractual agreement or proof of anything, it isn't readily available to you. Holy Moly! We switched to 'Infinite Energy' when we realized we were being ripped off by a company called 'Everything Energy' here in Houston TX. Ever since the switch, Infinite has kept our account up-to-date with notifications that detail our usage and has always kept us informed of outages in our area so we don't have to call in. No other company ever done that for us and we've NEVER felt wronged by them, which is why I am so surprised to see the low rating. Maybe the people complaining are in one of the other states Infinite serves like Florida, NY/New Jersey, or Georgia. We can vouch for the Infinite branch that serves Texas and its nowhere near as bad as the ratings here show. Its an energy company and most people don't get overly excited about things like that, but from what we've been shown they're a top tier organization. Every time we've talked to anyone over the phone, they've been super nice and super helpful. Very professional. Heck, I'd say we're pretty excited about them, because we know what it feels like to be ripped off by a provider. We're thankful for Infinite serving our area. Thank you Infinite. Please use the branch that handles the Houston area as an example and get some of these negative reviews off of here. You're better than that. I'm very careful about weighing both pricing options and customer service. I can confidently (and suprisingly) say that Infinite Energy has been a really good choice! My rates are always very competitive and a friendly human being answers the phone in usually a few seconds. In my 4 years with them, I've found them to be thorough, knowledgeable and articulate. When I had an unusual issue arise, it never felt like I was dealing with someone who was stuck on a script. I also like that they call me to renew since I don't pay attention to snail mail! This company just feels like it gives you a more personal experience than the traditional utility. read more

Infinite Energy, ney, Screwup 10/09/19 What a horrible company. They hook you into signing up online for programs without being very clear in their plan descriptions. Then, months later a package shows up on your porch on a Saturday. The return address means nothing to you. You open the package and it contains a Google Home Hub. There is nothing inside of the box besides the Hub. No packing list or invoice or letter. Nothing to indicate who/what/where/when/how this thing ended up at your house. So, you start calling all of you family and friends asking if they sent it to you (your cell phone minutes are dropping). Nope. Then you start spending lots of time checking all of your bank accounts and credit cards, examining months of statements to find out if you've been charged for such an item (more minutes wasted). Nothing there. You go back to the box and examine the shipping label very closely. The shipping company name means nothing to you. But, above the name there might be a phone number. You call it and end up in telephone hell. You keep trying all of the phone options trying to get a real person on the phone but that is impossible (minutes are melting out of your phone). So, you decide you'll have to wait till Monday. Maybe you'll find a real person then. Monday comes, you pull up your determination and start calling. Many calls and minutes later you hear from the shipper that you should call Google. You start feeling faint because you know that's going to be like calling AT&T or Comcast - pure hell. However, they give a slim ray of hope, they have a number you can try. That number leads to a 2nd Google number. That leads to a FedEx number. After many more minutes a person says, "Do you know Infinite Energy?". Damnit, yes, I do. I had to buy more minutes for my phone during all of this. Which was a nightmare I'll save for their websites. I didn't dare try calling Infinite Screwup that Monday because I was so angry. I was on the phone for 4 hours Monday plus the 3 hrs. on Saturday. I was beyond exasperated. I called Infinite Screwup today and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I was on hold 15 minutes waiting for a 'manager' to get on the phone. Finally, the associate took my name & number then said he'd have the manager call me back. 45 minutes later, the phone rings and it's David. To make a longer story shorter, now I have to ship back the Hub. He says he's doing me a great favor (not) by emailing me a return address label (so I don't have to pay for postage (just waste more of my time)). He's adjusting the monthly service fee, because I'm such a great customer. I asked for a refund for all the phone minutes I wasted over their debacle, was told No. And, I'm still paying the Hub/Nest term rate which is $.10 more than what I should pay without the Hub/Nest. I just looked at other companies and they have MUCH better rates. More research and Infinite is screwing me again. I can't cancel this nightmare because of the outrageous early cancellation fee. These guys are rip-off artists. Bigger cons than tRump and his clan of clowns. Stay away from Infinite Screwup. If you live near the Infinite Screwup Center/Arena in Duluth GA, and if you think you want to attend an event there, do me a favor and do not go. I am going to begin this review by stating that Infinite Energy would be much better off by severing their connection with the absolute most disgusting, terrible, loathsome, abhorrent, gruesome, unpleasant, and hideous excuse of a company, Atlanta Gas Light. Although my issue was unable to be resolved, My roommate and I received out-of-this-world customer service from Elizabeth and her supervisor, Nicole. The two of them went above and beyond to help solve my issue, helped me look down every avenue for a solution, and even helped hound Atlanta Gas Light to answer my calls. They carefully and patiently guided me through every step of every avenue we went down, and really helped calm my frustration. Although I am very frustrated that Infinite Energy would partner with such a pathetic excuse of a company, their customer service staff is A+ material and are grossly underpaid. read more

I might be the person who gives the highest rating here, but compare with other gas companies Infinite isn't really that bad. I signed up up 24 month with Nest plan, which has $9.95 service fee instead of $5.95 (I am not sure if they will take my Nest away when I cancel or switch the plan.It will be very bad if they do). Overall it is a normal energy company, and customer service is friendly as my experience. In my opinions, gas companies has to tell customer all the fees, like activation fee, AGLC Base Charges, and etc before hand. But this might scare some of us off if we don't understand that almost all companies charge these fees. read more

So, I found out today while establishing new service at my new home that the preferred provider for my area is Infinite Energy. I'd never heard of them before. Since I hadn't really enjoyed my service with Georgia Natural Gas I decided I'd call them up and see what the deal is. I don't even have service yet and these guys are hardly clinging to 2 stars. I consider the second star the possibility of room to grow. Really they couldn't have been worse so far. I was juggled to 5 different people to speak to while trying to set up my account. The first guy I talked to couldn't find my address for some reason. I have a very common address. He asked me if you're supposed to spell out the number that goes before the street name. I asked him about the company. I asked who they serve in Atlanta and how long they'd been around. He said, 'Oh we serve a lot.' Finally he found it. He said I was supposed to talk to someone else. He sent me to them. They sent me back to the same department as the first guy. No one seemed to know how to turn my gas on. The gas is still on. It was in the name of my homeowner's association. Finally at the end a woman said I'd have to wait 2 days to call back because they had to do some paper work so I could open an account? Her explanation made no sense. I asked if there'd be an interruption in service. She said there were no plans to disconnect. Uh. I'm confused. But I think I'm going to see if Georgia Natural Gas can come to me instead, even though I already know they suck. Is it really that hard to find people who aren't mutants on the phone? read more

I completely forgot about this company until a few months ago when I got a copy of my credit report. I've only lived in one apartment where I was responsible for the gas payment and that was in 2003. Before I left there were two consecutive bills that I hadn't paid and they sent me a notice after I moved. I paid everything in full to Infinite Energy by the due date, yet they apparently sent my account to collections. I contacted the collection company and sent them the canceled check, so they stopped trying to collect and my balance was zero. Unfortunately, there is still a collection account on my credit report and despite disputing it every year since then it still remains. read more

I suggest users find an alternative natural gas provider as it seems this company has an issue with record keeping, or attempts to trick its users out of money. I had Infinite Energy for just one year, scheduling was a hassle to begin with. I discontinued my account with them and set up a service cancellation date weeks before my move. Within the month, I continuously checked my account to ensure that all balances were paid. To all those considering using Infinite Energy, I suggest you reconsider. It is not worth the headache. And whatever you're saving in rates, you'll probably pay for in some bogus charge/fee. Currently, I have a balance on my account: 1. There seem to be discrepancies in my usage reports. Depending on which report I view, my usage is 11therms or 9 therms. 2. This balance is for a period in which the property was vacant. For a span of less month, over 9 (or 11) therms were used. Which is more gas than was used since the coldest months of the year (January and February). I was told this was just for water heater usage on the property. Still doesn't quite add up: 9 therms used to heat water in a property in which no faucets/fixtures are being used. 3. Apparently "All calls are monitored and recorded." But for some reason, the representative was unable to locate any activity on my account (save one call regarding service initiation). Here's why this is strange: I made several calls to this company to inquire details about my account and coordinate with the property manager to prove that service was in my name (but none of these calls are on record). The representative I recently spoke with informed me that he has "sent a request to research calls made from my phone number regarding my account." 5. Toward the end of the month in question, another tenant moved into the apartment. According to the representative, this is when my account was set to inactive. Here's why this is strange: If (according to the representative) my account was active and payments were up to date, how then was my account deactivated without notification of the account holder? 6. I paid my last bill on the account at the end of the month in which I moved. At that time, I was sure I'd taken care of all of my dues to this company. Apparently, the last read on my account was a day before my payment was processed. Though I saw no records of usage until over a month later. Infinite Energy is either very disorganized or has some crooked practices. Save yourself the time, stress, and money. read more

Infinite Energy needs to change their AR- processing methods. I, like many other people, pay my bills online, and I pay my bills on receipt. I pay well before the due date, and the money leaves my bank account with a check dated well before the due date. But for some unknown reason, Infinite energy is incapable is posting payments on time, therefore, stinging us with a stupid $10 late fee. we've called many times to have the fee removed, and about 50% of the time they comply, but I'm sick and tired of it. It shouldn't happen, unless I'm genuinely late. After too many errors, we canned Infinate and switched to a new provider. Infinite Energy, if you read this, you need to get with the times, and update your operating system, or hire competent AR people. This seems to be an ongoing problem with your customers. Posting payments to customer's accounts 10 days after a check clears is just flat out wrong. Get it together read more

This is the worst Natural Gas company I have ever had. I signed up for a great rate things were going well until I was a few days late on payment then they locked my online account. We do not have an office near our home so the only other option was to call. I called multiple time to reset my account to make payment since this is the only mode I could do so securely. They would not unlock my account. I found a way to pay them through my bank account and by that time they closed the account. I have made monthly payments to them since it was closed and still they forced it to collections and provided them with an incorrect amount. The Google rating on their homepage of 4.9 lead me to trust them. I believe they falsified this as well. read more

Called today to have my account transferred to my new apartment 3 miles away and still in the city of ATL. $135 deposit for a loyal customer that pays on time and historically has NEVER had a bill over $50. My deposit for the first year was only $116 for an older, improperly insulated apartment. Unbelievable! Extremely high deposit for someone that averages $45 a month in a gas bill bc everything is electric including my space heaters from big lots bc I refuse to pay a high gas bill when my electric bill is only $20 higher in the winter using a space heater from big lots at night. And I don't own or rent washer and dryers but the apartments only use electric for those anyway. The deposit is based on historical usage of prior residents (first rep told me it would be based on my usage) and that the rep does not have access to nor can they give you the formula or transfer you to someone that knows what it is. She tried to transfer me to a supervisor but the supervisor wouldn't come to the phone - Go figure So basically I'm paying 2+ months up front for gas as a customer who typically has below average usage - and the rep actually reviewed my account and agreed I use below average amounts of gas. Even GA Power found a way not to charge a loyal customer a deposit for transfer of services. read more

I had Infinite Energy for a one year contract without any issues and the price was low compared to other providers. However, just before my contract was about to expire I was a couple months away from moving to another house and the new rates with Infinite were much higher than other providers. I decided to just keep Infinite on my current house for the remaining two months on a month-to-month plan. The first month of the month-to-month plan I paid 8.9 cents per kWh for a full month bill $73.76. I then notified them that I would be moving out the next month. The next month I received my partial month bill and it is 20 cents per kWh for a total of $213. I think it is unethical to increase the price that much knowing it is the customers last bill. I tried to get in touch with Infinite but was unsuccessful. read more

Today, i received a bill from Infinite Energy and it was $174.10. Now I've had Infinite Energy for over 2 years and my bills average around $45-$55 monthly. In December, my bill was $76, and I used more therms in December than I did this month and I signed up for another 6 months of service. I could not be upset about this bill. I'm being told that when I signed up there is some small print that says I'll have to wait months for the new rate to kick in; even though I signed up before my new term expired. I explained how unhappy I was and she could care less. I told Amanda that I was going to go to another company and she then told me that I would have to pay a $150 cancellation fee, even though I'm in some gray period of a contract. Then she asked what date to disconnect my service. She did not offer any concessions. This is so horrible. I feel like I've been scammed. I pay my bills on time each and every month and I'm never late. I see they do not value their loyal customers. read more

Forget these fools and go electric! The first red flag was when I signed up with them; I had to pay 71.23 for absolutely NOTHING. let me break down "nothing" to you in case you are curious: 35.00 account setup fee, 25.00 activation fee, 5.95 customer service fee... add taxes. It amazes me that in 2016, adding an entry to a computer database can cost 71.23 (it should be noted that there was already gas service in the apartment when I moved in). Because only my water heater was gas operated, I consumed between 5.50 to 6.00 of gas each month, yet the bill is always around 33.00: add base charges (around 20.00) and (yes, you always have) a 5.95 customer service fee. The day after I moved out, someone else moved in. It was only a few days into the billing cycle, yet I got charged the entirety of the "base charges", which were broken down to me when I asked why that was the case: they explained that it was to rent the pipes from gas light, and that they own the lines in Atlanta. I am pretty confident they charged the entirety of the "base charges" to the person moving in too: why sell a single thing once, when twice makes more money! My 4 month experience with them totaled: 230.78... and the only thing using the service was my water heater. Draw your own conclusions. read more

I don't mind paying late fees if i end up missing a payment, but now I have to wait a week for my connection to be restored, especially when I have a family coming over. There are just too many things that bothers me with this connection, and i felt consumers reading reviews should be aware. First when i called for the connection, the sale guy was trying real hard to get me go for the Nest offer, and even didn't hesitate to misinform about rates being same irrespective of tenure. Next day, browsing through their website, I found that 12 months rate without nest was lesser, so called back them. He apologised for mis-informing but still kept trying to sell me the nest offer. Anyways after declining politely manytimes, i opted for a tenure suitable for my needs. Then comes the billing part, I moved into the apt on 1st of a month. They sent a bill for 15 days, with adding their service charge. In the next bill starting from 16th day there were other charges 25 for something, 35 for something else in addition to gas consumption. In addition to the gas charge they charge an amount for "AGLC Base Charges" whichhas been around $23-$24 per month!!! My boyfriend and I moved in with each other previously having had Reliant and Veteran Energy. I loved Reliant but was hoping to get a cheaper rate having had more information this time around. Last time I clicked on the first link that popped up. This time, I did research on power to choose. Infinite had cheaper prices than our previous companies and had fairly good reviews with no hidden fees. There were no problems until the bill came. Our bill was twice as high as our previous bills with other companies and we're keeping the blinds closed, the air above 80 consistently, unplugging misc items. After the first bill we decided to cut back our energy (specifically air) and the second bill WAS EVEN HIGHER?! How does that even happen? Our energy usage has consistently gone down per our weekly energy reports but our overall bill was higher, which makes absolutely no sense to me. Have no clue where the Delivery Charge comes from and why it's half the bill. Feel like they just pick a random number and charge it with no explanation. I feel like we're getting ripped off...it would probably be cheaper to pay the dumb early termination fee and switch to another company. We would probably even recoup our fee and save money over time because our bill is way too high. Feeling frustrated and cheated. Definitely won't be going with infinite again. The only good thing is the weekly reports sent.....but that seems fake now. read more

I was impressed by the customer service this afternoon. I was calling to sign up with automatic payments with this company, since it got turned off when I moved. No big deal, a late fee that I should have avoided since I wasn't paying much attention: Whatever. So I go to do it online and I don't have my customer number. Call up the lady and she is quick to get it to me without making feel like I was a criminal trying to break into the system. I'm pretty computer savvy but I did appreciate that she stuck around on the line to ensure I got everything taken care of. After we hung up and I tried to set up my automatic payments, apparently there was an issue with the ACH system for me. Whatever, I'm an engineer, I know how things go. What I didn't expect was for her to call me back when she saw I was having trouble online and offered to override it for me on her end. That's a level of initiative I don't usually expect from underpaid call center staff. Good on them! read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Two years ago I switched apartments within the same building and Infinite Energy got very, very confused and billed me twice on both apartments. The customer service may as well not even exist. I called and complained and was told some one would call me back. No one ever did and so I let it be, only paying what I should have been charged. Next thing I know, I'm getting a letter from a collection agency. A few more calls to Infinite Energy to try to straighten it out with no luck whatsoever. I finally decided to pay up for fear of ruining my credit score. Terrible customer service and way too quick to hand you over to a collection agency (presumably out of laziness on their part.) Never sign up with this company, you will be ripped off!!. We had a very bitter experience with this company for a contract with Natural gas. First of all they make sign up for a term so that the contract will expire on a winter month and they won't even send you a contract expiration notice 45 days prior which they are obligated by the NJ Board of Public Utilities. When we decided to go up with another they held our account for more than 75 days and charged at an exorbitant rate which created a huge loss of $3000.00 to our company. Please be aware of these energy companies. read more
