You can take your time looking around even though you have a timed tour as there is a studio tour every 10 minutes. When you're ready for the tour, you go to an auditorium to see a short video about the studio and the history. This is updated with recent films (I saw a relatively different video when I went here 2 years ago). You then ride a long cart with other people in your group and your tour guide drives the cart around the lot. There are stops in different areas in the Warner Bros lot and you go down and walk with the guide. Photo opportunities are there as well. Different film/TV clips are also shown on the cart as you go through these iconic spots seeing how they were used in these films/TV shows which is cool. After this, you go to another studio where a Central Perk Cafe, a museum, and souvenir shop are located. You can take your time here as well. You then proceed to the next part of the tour. If you bought Superman experience, you go there. If not, you then go to spot where there's a Friends' couch and have pictures taken there. Next is the more interactive part where there's Harry Potter sets, some figures of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. Costumes and cars can be seen here as well. You'll end again where you entered and there's another huge souvenir shop with different toys, shirts, mugs, magnets, key chains, and so much more. Items are cute but can be pricey. Allot 3 hours for the entire experience without the Superman experience (since we did not do that).

The tour was mostly of sets that included sitcoms like "Friends" and you simply walk around them and visit them. Most of the buildings are empty on the inside to show you but the novelty wears off quickly. You will do this for about an hour and then are dropped off in a museum section which has lots more. They did have other unique things to see like the force perspective and sound effects but that's just it. You exit into a gift shop that is near entirely made of "Friends" souvenirs. You return to the main building for a small DC and Harry Potter section and then straight to the gift shop. I was fairly underwhelmed by it. I expected a bit more in explanation and showing things instead of here's so and so from this show. The museum portion was more of a photo op than anything. I don't think I would return.

Typically running about 45 minutes to an hour, the studio tour is a perfect break from escalators, lines, and walking around Universal. The guides are funny and engaging and though they usually touch on the same things, I find that each guide has a way of making the tour their own. I always enjoy going through the lot and getting a glimpse of what's being filmed, while also learning about the iconic movies, shows, and even music videos that have utilized the lot before. As a huge fan of Desperate Housewives, my favorite set is Colonial Street. While I'd love to see some updates or new things on the studio tour, having been on it more times than I can count I can still say it's my favorite ride and the thing I look forward to the most at USH.

You still the psycho scare, a look at the faux NYC filming backdrops, and or course Jaws. Which warms my cold nostalgic heart. I really enjoyed the 4-D King Kong adventure in the beginning, but I really missed the giant animatronic King Kong that I remember seeing as a kid. Make sure to sit in the second or third tram car. We were placed in the first tram car and basically missed everything from the flood to Bruce the shark jumping out of the water. My wife and I enjoyed the ride, but our kids (5 & 7) were over it after about 20-minutes. Shout out to our tour guide for all of the knowledge and fun behind scenes anecdotes.

Afterward, we all headed over to Greystone Mansion & Gardens. I had visited this place once with friends about four years ago, and I remembered how beautiful it was. Since I thought my parents would enjoy taking a walk here, I suggested that the whole family come together. The scenery is stunning, with beautiful gardens, plenty of trees, and peaceful walking paths. It's also a fantastic place for taking photos. Years ago, I took some pictures with friends along a pathway lined with tall trees on both sides. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, and the photos turned out amazing. Unfortunately, I couldn't find that exact spot this time, which was a little disappointing. After enjoying a nice walk, my mom said she was getting hungry, so we started thinking about where to have lunch. Then suddenly, my dad disappeared. At first, we thought he might have gone to the restroom, but he wasn't there. We searched all over the property, checking everywhere we could think of, but we couldn't find him. It was honestly very stressful. Thankfully, my brothers informed one of the park rangers, and the park rangers immediately began helping us search for him. As it turned out, my dad had walked to the parking lot by himself. Earlier, we had told him that we would bring the car closer to him so he wouldn't have to walk too far, but he apparently didn't hear that part and started walking toward the parking lot on his own. When he couldn't find us, he simply sat down on the grass and waited. When the park rangers located him, one of them asked me if I wanted to come along. I immediately replied, "Yes, yes, of course!" and hurried over with them. When I finally saw my dad, I was incredibly relieved and happy. I must have thanked the park rangers more than ten times that day for their kindness and help. Even now, it makes me nervous when I think about how worried our entire family was that day. This property is quite large, so it's easy for people to get separated. For most people, it wouldn't be a big problem because they could simply call each other on the phone. However, my dad suffered a stroke in mid-December and had to be taken to the ER by 911. Thankfully, he has improved significantly since January, but he still cannot reliably make or answer phone calls on his own. Because of that, we were especially worried and anxious while searching for him. Thankfully, everything turned out well in the end, and we were able to find him safely. I am truly grateful to the park rangers who helped us that day. Not only is this place absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous scenery and wonderful views, but it's hard to believe that parking is completely free. To be honest, this is one of those special places that makes you want to keep it a secret and enjoy it all by myself. But great places deserve to be shared, so I decided to write this review and let others know about it.
