Ended up in the ER with a severe infection due to the negligence and bad medical advice given by a…read morestaff member here. Came in for a very routine infection - should have been given a broad spectrum antibiotic with potential change after culture came back. Was sent on my way with a prescription for an antibiotic but wasn't given any "red flag symptoms" to watch out for with an active infection. Got the results from my culture back the next day that showed my infection was not going to respond to the antibiotic I was prescribed. Not a problem, but it was several hours before I heard anything from the clinic, and I had to call first. By the time I got a call back I was already in the ER with nonstop vomiting. The staff member from this clinic who originally saw me dismissed my vomiting as "viral" and not related to my infection. Turns out it was absolutely related. My blood pressure had skyrocketed and the infection was extremely advanced. Staff at this clinic are kind but do not know what they are talking about and miss clear warning signs. Could have avoided the ER if better attention had been paid, if test results were followed up with in a timely manner, and if better advice had been given. As a future healthcare professional myself, I do not recommend going here.

My diagnosis was upper respiratory infection aka common cold. The cure is just to wait it out. I did however get a prescription for an oral anesthetic which helped relieve the annoying sore throat pain. The prescription was conveniently transmitted electronically to the adjoining CVS. The nurse practitioner did a quick test to rule out strep throat. I also conveniently got a seasonal flu shot. Their services are limited. But it was quick and convenient to have someone look at my throat.

Ow, ow, ow, ow, OW. My husband, a firefighter/paramedic, took one look at my thumb and noticed my obvious lack of range of motion, and decreed an x-ray was in my future. Sigh. An x-ray. At, like, 8 PM on Thanksgiving? An ER visit. Really? I wasn't feeling it. Like, at all. The pain was pretty intense (and trust me, my tolerance is higher than most) so I packed up and headed to Ingalls despite my reservation about urgent aid-like places. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, the visit was smooth sailing. Color me impressed. Registration was a breeze (even though I'm right handed and my writing was, well, a little sloppy, to say the least). The nurses were great, the x-ray tech was fabulous (she double gowned me--something I greatly appreciated as I was 28 weeks pregnant at the time), the ER doc was gentle and proficient and explained everything very, very thoroughly. While the x-ray was clean (YAY for no broken bones!), the odds of a torn ligament were very, very high. The nurses braced me up and the doctor sent me off with a referral for an ortho in the area for an MRI if I wasn't entirely pain-free in a reasonable amount of time. Start to finish as far as time spent at said urgent aid facility? Roughly one hour. ONE HOUR, people. I was anticipating three times as long. I never received a link, so I assumed I did not need one. The receptionist, whose name I did not get, decided to wait 2 hours before saying anything about a link. However, in those 2 hour she had time to sit on her phone with someone and complain about other patients and about a man she is seeing, whom she thinks is seeing someone else, but she's still going to see him, but she is not sleeping in the bed with him. I do not appreciate the fact that she had time to talk but she could not complete the duties of her job. I do not appreciate my time being wasted, especially since I live over 45 minutes away. I would appreciate it if management could review employee phone privileges during work hours, as excessive personal use appears to be interfering with essential job responsibilities.

They first tested for COVID & 17 other viruses which came back negative. ERICA D. gave him a thorough exam, listened to his lungs, even found wax buildup in his ears. He's a cardiac patient and susceptible to pneumonia but before I could ask, she ordered a chest ex-ray. Because of the ex-ray, he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and prescribed steroids and antibiotics. I value how thorough she was and how she listened to our concerns and symptoms, which enabled her to diagnose him accurately. Instead of the employee in the doors helping me, she simply steps to the side and finishes her conversation with the patient. I get out of the doors and I see her hug the patient.
