I used resort pass to she's a day room here. From 8 am to 4 pm you get a room and full grounds access. I had an amazing time lounging by the pool. I love the series madmen and this old Hollywood glamour hotel reminded me of a place that they would stay at. What an absolutely sad experience I just had. The short and not so sweet of it: If you call the Ingleside website phone number, make sure they are actually booking you at the Ingleside! I wanted to make a reservation at this charming old-school hotel for my dad's 79th birthday, so I called the number on their website and went through all the work on the phone to find dates a suite was available, go over pricing and any specials (getting a meal voucher, since we wanted to go to Melvyn's), secure reservations, and pay. I was thrilled to finally book something. I hung up and called my dad to tell him where he would be going for his birthday. All was good. But when I didn't get a confirmation email, I called Ingleside to see why and they said I had no reservation. They said that when the reception for Ingleside is busy, they route their phones to Avalon Hotel...and maybe my reservation is there. Well, that's astounding that you could reroute a phone call and not make sure the customer knows they are booking at a different hotel! I'm not even going to go into detail on my continued attempt to book Ingleside, but it was hundreds more than my first reservation with no specials and no meal voucher, even though they had given me such a run-around, so in the end I was too disappointed in them to book at all and got a refund. read more

The historic Ingleside Estate is a beautiful place to stay in Palm Springs. Definitely recommend a roomier bungalow rather than the smaller hotel rooms. Loved the cool vibe of the black and celadon green decor and the stylish fireplace though we had the a/c blasting instead. The pool is refreshing and the staff offers poolside drink service. The excellent Melvyn's restaurant the first night didn't disappoint! They also do room service so we enjoyed dessert delivery the second night. The sister hotel nearby has a great gym with the bonus of a cold plunge pool outside which we loved! Also their small restaurant Chi Chi was a good breakfast spot. Like all resorts, some staff are more helpful than others. Going during the off season has its pros and cons. The spa was closed which meant the restroom by the gym and cold plunge was also closed - awkward. It'd be helpful to have a sidewalk between the two properties since we were back and forth a lot. The estate is absolutely lovely and we appreciated that it was 18+. The room was very clean which we found very nice. The air conditioning doesn't go lower than 70 so it took at least 24hrs to cool down the entire room. Unfortunately the air conditioner goes on and off throughout the night and it was very loud like a jet engine when it turned on and off. We didn't sleep well despite a comfortable bed. The bathroom smelled like an outhouse and we contacted the front desk. They were kind enough to have someone come by and put some cleanser down the drain, although the sewage odor persisted and getting another room wasn't an option based on the interactions we had with staff. We enjoyed the pool however would have been more comfortable if the water temperature was cooler. Walking to the sister hotel was interesting and the pictures on the website make it look much bigger. It was tiny and one of the pools was closed. Definitely not as inviting as the Ingleside. Having to walk to our car through the lobby and out and around the back was kind of frustrating but there isn't any other area to park yet they factor that into the daily resort fee. The food at Melvyn's was excellent. Overall we had a nice time and would possibly come back in the future. read more

The atmosphere is like an old Mediterranean Hollywood resort getaway. Classic Palm Springs without all the commercial bling! We had a lovely room with a private backyard which our dog loved, and a fireplace. The Staff is very accommodating and friendly. There was a minor maintenance issue with our Air Conditioning, but it was quickly resolved. The maid and cleaning service was lacking in a big way; they didn't come in to clean the water after the unit leaked all over the table and floor, and they didn't; clean the refrigerator when we discovered that the mini-bar coke bottle exploded inside the fridge; there was a mess inside, and they said they would take care of it tomorrow, but it was the middle of the afternoon! Also, my billing came in three segments on my AMEX after checking out, and I would really prefer to have the ENTIRE bill paid upon leaving instead of getting "follow-up" charges days later! The room service was average and very overpriced...really overpriced because, for example, the Ceasar Salad was literally 8 pieces of uncut romaine on a plate with two anchovies. The sandwich was small, but at least the fries were a decent amount. So you are probably wondering why I am giving this place a four star rating instead of a three, which it probably should get, and the reason is that the atmosphere was lovely. It is difficult to find a truly authentic place that is dog friendly like this one. High marks for that, and if they improve the management services and billing, it would be a stellar experience. read more

From 2pm-7pm the sun was beating down on the building and the room wouldn't get cooler than 85° Staff was friendly, cold water out by the pool. The bicycles were convenient. This is a beautiful old Inn in downtown palm Springs. It's nestled up against the mountains and you are only .5 miles from the entrance to the Tahquitz Canyon hike--I probably misspelled that. My only complaint is one that applies to most hospitality owners these days. They fee and upcharge the wholly crap out of you. Of course your meals have a place to tip and having paid my way through law school as a waitress, I am a very good tipper. But when you check out there is a "Wellness" charge. You pay for all employees healthcare now vs the hotel owners. And...there's $45.00/day for gratuities for staff, use of the pool, use of the WIFI, and use of your TV. This is ridiculous. If you're going to charge me an extra 15%/day on top of the room rate and taxes, at least tell me in advance. Now my tips are like 40%--because i had no idea. And you still put tip lines on all tickets--even the little boxes for 18%, 20%, 22%, etc--without telling us we have already paid in $45.00/day plus 5%/day for your health insurance. read more

Pricey but you pay for the old-world charm, peaceful surroundings, superb service, valet and amenities. Sure I could spend the same dough at the hip and trendy Kimpton Rowan with the partying millennials but that's not my thing. Each room at Ingleside is either in a duplex or a standalone bungalow. The only caveat is the connecting door in the duplex can transmit noise easily so you can hear your next-door neighbors' conversations loud and clear if they're near the door. Another caveat is make sure you read your final bill before signing, as I found a restaurant charge on my bill that wasn't mine. Other than that, my weekend retreat at Ingleside Inn was utterly delightful and rejuvenating. Make sure you spend some time at the pool even if you don't swim, and take in the picture-perfect view of tall palm trees against a perfect blue sky and stunning San Jacinto mountains looming in the background. read more

We were guests at a wedding buyout of the property for a weekend (with a couple days on either end not part of the buyout) and we truly truly enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were meticulously manicured. Rooms had very nice touches and comfortable beds. It's in a great location walking distance to the main drag in PS, but still quiet and secluded. My only teeny tiny gripe is our room (7) didn't have an enclosed back patio - the patio was accessible from the outside so we couldn't let our pup out there unless one of us was with her. Had that been enclosed the stay would have been perfect. Overall I would absolutely stay here again! read more

There is something magical about this property. It is a well-preserved relic of old Hollywood in Palm Springs. Danny at the front desk is a wellspring of Ingleside stories and is happy to share them. I love hearing him tell rat pack/Sinatra tales and ghost sightings with the fire place blazing at check in. Tony was so friendly and accommodating. He made the experience seamless. Rebooking was so easy with a simple text and he goes above and beyond to make sure customers are taken care of, an art that is lacking in many establishments these days. There is a lot of new and shiny in Palm Springs as far as hotels go, but this hidden Palm Springs gem, tucked away near the mountain, and its warm staff is what one should come to Palm Springs for. This place is like a hidden Gem in Palm Springs, among the hotel options nearby it's difficult to spot this place but if you do, you are super lucky. We got here around 4 P.M, the valet took our car and directed us to the reception, the check-in process was super fast and easy, the guy at the reception quickly explained all the amenities and services they had. He gave us a room on the same block as the main office/breakfast lobby. Around an hour later the martini service people arrived, they make the Martini right at the room door for you, which is sweet. They got to know that it was my birthday so they sent over a small gift of these toffy popcorns from a local business. It's these small things which make the experience at Ingleside so very delightful. At midnight they also sent in a pastry for my to celebrate my birthday. The breakfast is provided and you have the option to eat indoors or out on the courtyard, it wasn't a grand breakfast but enough to give you a good range of options. The property has been recently remodeled and has a good mix of modern and vintage styles. They have a little shop area with items on sale and also have a very fancy looking restaurant, though I did not eat there. The cake was from that restaurant so judging on that I'd say that the food would be good there. It's very pretty on the outside and the rooms. I cannot wait to come back here. read more

I have stayed at various Palm Springs hotels. They all have their charm and special touches. But there is something truly special about Ingleside Inn. I've had it on my list for a while and finally decided to book 2 nights. We loved it so much we extended our stay and are already planing our next stay. We got there late and planned on walking to main street to grab something to eat. As we passed by Melvyn's we decided to stop in for a drink, Buddy makes the best martinis!. Despite the fact that it was Wednesday and the restaurant was packed, Ron, Melvy's amazing host found a great table for us so we decided to stay for dinner. What a dinner! We felt transported to another time (in the best way). Stayed until the very last song, by the great Michael Healy was played. Live entertainment is a dying art. So happy Melvyn's is keeping it alive. We stayed in room 19, the Lily Pons suite. It was perfect. Great bed, two walking closets, large sofa and fireplace. We did not use the fireplace as it was a very hot week, but it looked beautiful. We loved having a private outdoor area in our room. The room felt so private and tranquil. The pool area was gorgeous, classic and clean. Pool service was great, plus you get to eat from Melvyn's. Guillermo took great care of us. Everyone at the front desk was so friendly and accommodating. Dan knows everything about the property and it's history and was extremely nice. Tim was also so hospitable. We felt at home at Ingleside Inn. It felt like it was a great place for couples, babymoons or a solo getaway. Just a beautiful place to relax. read more

We came here to celebrate my birthday and it was our first time. All I can say is, WOW. From the moment we arrived until the time we left... it was absolutely incredible. The grounds and history of this place really are something else. It's stunning, quaint, quiet and beautiful. Such a hidden gem. The staff was OUTSTANDING. We wanted to recognize Juan especially. The time and effort he took to ensure we were happy and comfortable, was second to none. I work in hospitality, and I was blown away. Thank you so much Juan. You deserve a raise. We also enjoyed facials at the Estrella Spa (at their sister property next door)... holy cow. BEST spa experience we have ever had. We cannot say enough about it. Stayed here for Easter weekend with my boyfriend and our kids. This place exudes old school classic glamour. My daughter and I had a premium room which felt lush and comfy. The patio in the back was a peaceful location for morning coffee with a view of the mountains and bunnies and birds hopping around. There was a little bit of traffic noise but not a deal breaker. The pool area was a balm in the almost 100 degree weather and we were able to have drinks served to us to make it even better. People were great at following COVID 19 guidelines and we felt safe the whole time. Service was also lovely. The staff were lovely and gave us a later check out even though they were very busy. The kids are preteen and teen so pretty chill but I did observe that they were the only kids at the property so something to consider as it has a quiet vibe. Cannot wait to come back. read more

Rats crawling in the ceiling kept us awake all night. Don't stay in room 18 you have to walk though a mud pit to get in and out of your room. Expect to get soaked by the sprinklers that seem to come on during peak hours, like 5pm when we were unloading our luggage and got soaked because the door was stuck. Don't expect to get any of your $50 daily food and beverage credits. They make up rules to make everything un-reimbursable. Including only one item per day, meaning if you get a $10 drink at the pool and $40 lunch they will only reimburse you $10. At checkout when I told them none of these rules were told to us and I asked them what they could do to resolve it I was told just don't stay here again. read more

My husband and I were looking for a quick getaway to Palm Springs for the end of summer. We did not want a big resort but knew we wanted a pool to lounge by. Ingleside Inn fit that bill perfectly! It is such a quaint and beautiful property! The service we received was above and beyond as well! Our room required us to walk through the lobby and we were always greeted so warmly! We stayed by the pool all day and the service there was amazing! Food and drinks came out quickly too! We did not try the pool at the sister property but went by it. It's nice as well. Loved that we were at the end of the strip and could walk from the Inn. Highly recommend staying here! We will definitely be back! read more

I love Melvyn's which is the reason I decided to stay at the Ingleside. The hotel is beautiful and the location is fantastic. Unfortunately there is NO management. I wanted to relax by the pool last week and was blown away that they allowed over 100 people in the pool, no one with face covering. The scene was like a frat party, not a good relaxing hotel. After asking for the manger twice, I was never given the opportunity to speak with him/her and when I asked to be refunded my "resort fee"since I wasn't able to use the pool safely, they refused. I would typically not criticize the food or service during Covid but I ordered a simple chicken ceaser salad, the chicken was extremely dry, and there were no anchovies which is the second ingredient listed on the menu... read more

What a gorgeous property - rich in history and character with a huge dreamy pool. The rooms have old world charm but are updated and very clean. We slept so well. Stunning views of the mountains. When we arrived we were greeted by Tony who immediately went out of his way to make us as happy and comfortable as possible. He went above and beyond. Did I mention he is hilarious? By the end of the trip we were obsessed. We even overheard other guests gushing about him. P.S. Melvyn's was a great experience even though it only has 3 stars on Yelp. TERRIBLE! The worst meal and experience I've ever had in Palm Springs. We use to LOVE coming to Melvyn's for cocktails in the iconic bar, and delicious table side prepared dinner in the dining room. Waitstaff was always well presented, professional and cordial. Last night we walked into a completely different place. We were met with indifference - 'Reservation?', shuttled to our table where the service and food plummeted. Drinks and salad arrived, then a noticeable gap before our dinner arrived - well over 30 minutes. I should have known what was coming. My risotto was unrecognizable, crunchy rice, overcooked vegetables and tough pancetta - sat under the heat lamp way too long. The same two chicken entrees looked entirely different on the plates, and nothing special - billed as Chicken Confit ? The $34 cheeseburger looked and was the most appetizing. I did something I've never done - sent my dinner back. Our waiter took my plate, never said a word, and never returned to express regret. Never, just said we took the charge off your bill. What happened to you Melvyn's? You're riding on the coat tails of a historical 1970's establishment and you've sadly lost your way. We won't come back, but uninformed tourist passing through Palm Spring will, and sadly wonder why all the hype. read more
