My family and I went when they had the Christmas menu so not sure what's available on other days but we really enjoyed the pear salad, the jidori chicken, and the apple tart cheesecake!! We probably wouldn't order the salmon or the pork chop again. William was a fabulous waiter and kept checking in on us throughout the night to ensure we were still doing well. He also dealt with my extreme indecisiveness on white wines and helped answer like 3 rounds of questions. Thank you William!!

View from our table. Piano jazz at happy hour.

We enjoyed a classic Palm Springs experience: happy hour piano jazz at a Rat Pack hangout. Friendly, attentive service; enjoyable music, good food, nice selection & reasonable prices: For 4 of us, we had 6 small plates, 6 drinks, 2 desserts for @$200. They don't take reservations for happy hour (recommend them for dinner), and when we arrived (4:30ish) there were some tables open. On weekdays happy hour is 4-6; they clear the room then for the dinner crowd.

    Dessert was tasty.

The food wasn't amazing but it was tasty. It was for Thanksgiving and we both had short rib which was tasty. The service was great. Daniel, our server was really cool and he did a great job. The atmosphere was really cool and fitting of Palm Springs... it feels a little like a trip to the past (in a good way) with the old school style and feel. It was a fun and different experience!

Purple room is a total mixed bag. We came for the dinner show to see Miss Peggy Lee. Figured it would be a fun and campy evening. We showed up at around 6:15 for our 6pm reservation and the place was PACKED! There was clearly a fun buzz going on as every table in the place was taken. The purple room is a traditional cabaret/dinner theater. We were greeted by our server after getting settled in and the drink orders were promptly taken. The drinks were perfect. We eventually placed our appetizer order followed by the entree. Food came out not too shortly thereafter. The only truly edible thing our entire evening was the wedge salad and the steak tartare. Once our entrees came the food was completely disgusting. Between the several dishes it honestly seemed like they were serving reconstituted slop from economy class. I honestly think the airplane food is better. The veal was bone dry and completely flavorless. The chicken roulade and pasta was equally abysmal. The "sauce" was obviously diluted to make it last for lord knows how many servings. It's obvious their pasta had been soaking in water for days. We stopped eating after a few bites. It was that bad. Once the busboy took our food away we ordered the "flavorless" chocolate cake. Thank goodness for the ice cream even though you could tell it was from those giant industrial buckets where the water ratio is just curiously too high to make it seem right. The prices are shockingly high for the complete trash they serve and call food. To her credit our server did a great job and got us everything we needed. Zero complaint on the service end of things. Shortly after our dessert plate was cleared it was time for the show. Once Miss Peggy came out we lasted maybe 10 minutes before making the hard decision of preferring to go home and watch our paint dry from the freshly painted walls. Pros: - The vibe was good. People were having a nice time and it was fun to be in a tight space with a large number of people. - cocktails were perfect - service was on point Cons: - they force you to buy the food at ridiculously inflated prices. My guess is no one would eat there if you weren't forced to pay for the food. It was honestly the worst meal I've had in years. The quality of the food is bottom tier on all levels. - the show was pretty bad. Most of the crowd was just staring at the performer without much reaction. Perhaps this is one of those places where people practice their routine before going "public" with it? - the prices are shockingly high. I would imagine the cost of the show is normally factored into the food and drink prices, but, then remembered they also have a $40 per person charge when you book the tickets. I liked the intimacy of the space and the fact that everyone was there to have a good time. I would only go back if I was invited with a group. I would stick to eating soup/salad and drinks... Also, the "lounge" seating is pretty bad all around. You will want to ensure you get a table in the main dining room. Expect to pay about $175 a person for 3 courses, plus cocktail and wine (including the ticket price).

Wow! What an amazing experience!!! The atmosphere is cozy and very "rat pack". Our server was so bubbly, fun and took great care of us. The food was delicious, but yes kind of pricey. The drinks were delicious! The Judy Show was wonderful!!! So funny and loved the audience participation. Highly recommend!!!

View of Rose Mallett (Tuesdays) and the band
    Matthew G.

The cocktails, atmosphere, and music (Rose Mallett and the band) are good, but food and service were not great. We felt rushed by our waitress (an older lady) the whole night... it felt like she wanted us out in under an hour (which means we would have only had 30 minutes of music, since the band stopped and took a break right after we sat down at 8:30.) We were asked if we were ready to order drinks about 3 minutes after we sat down and had barely opened the menu (and we only had one cocktail menu to share.) When I asked her what was in the Stranger in the Night (the menu only lists bourbon and says it is a classic boulevardier, but I was not familiar with the boulevardier cocktail, and there is no cell phone signal there to be able to look it up), she couldn't tell me, and couldn't bother to find out (I ended up walking up to the bar to ask the bartenders.) When the drinks came, they didn't bring any bread like they did for other tables... in fact, our basket of bread never showed up until AFTER we were done with the whole meal. As for the food... the arancini starter was tasty, and my wife's crabcakes were not very meaty, but okay. The branzino dish was a real miss... the fish was kind of dry and needed a sauce or topping or side with more moisture and flavor. It came with small roasted potatoes that seemed to be in cheap canned/jarred marinara sauce (that was the worst part of all... It was a very familiar flavor like Hunts or Ragu spaghetti sauce. And not a very suitable sauce for roasted potatoes or branzino fish, anyway!) Not very hearty, and pretty lackluster for the price ($45!) As soon as we finished the meal (in a little under an hour) and opted not to have dessert, we were asked if we were going to be leaving or stick around for more music -- we still had half of our cocktails left to finish! Really, you're trying to usher us out the door when we're not even done with our drinks?? (And why? It's not like they could seat another party.) Yes, we came to a music venue to listen to music. Asking us if we are ready to leave when our drinks aren't even done and we've only heard like 3 or 4 songs was pretty off-putting. One more note: parking was difficult! You can only park on the street (not in the parking spaces), and it was hard to find a spot.

"Old Blue Eyes ", their take of an old fashioned
    Greg T.

"Ringa ding ding", a Manhattan with an orange twist, or "Old Blue Eyes", a classic Old Fashioned are 2 of my favorite cocktails at the Purple Room. Like stepping into a 50s or 60s jazz supper club, the Purple Room claims to be where the Rat Pack was launched. Might be true. It certainly has that vibe to it! The bar features a huge (90?) Selection of whiskey and bourbon in honor of Sinatra's favorite libations. All their finely crafted cocktails carry names from that era. Want a great Cosmo? Order the "Bacall". The menu offers diners a delicious selection of dishes for every taste. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. But what draws my wife and I is the show! Drink, eat, and listen to great live music. Tuesdays with Rose Mallett are our favorite.

With Billy Stritch after his amazing night!

Everything was absolutely amazing! The staff is so friendly and welcoming, after 5 visits in 2025 w/ a variety of performers and personalities! Delicious selection of food and at least 10 selections were very well prepared! The beautiful, intimate setting allows for guests interactions. Lillias White, what an amazing singer!
    Tom B.

This place is way too cool! Friends took us here, and it was fabulous. Located in a classic old resort hotel, The Trinidad, the lounge and restaurant portion is a hot spot of popularity. It's nearly impossible to get a reservation, and sitting at the bar, which we did, is actually a fun option. This is where the 'Rat Pack' (Dean Martin, Sammy Davis & Frank Sinatra) met and stated their illustrious association. It's a perfect lounge space for truly intimate, wonderful performances. The drinks are amazing, from the truly creative to the old standards, like a classic martini, mine was with my choice of Hendricks gin. They make any cocktail to your specifics. The wine list is extensive. Ask for anything, and they most likely can make it. The meal menu is varied and appealing. I had the risotto that was beyond amazing. It was probably the best I have ever had, creamy and full of delicious flavor. The crowd is so casual and friendly. We struck up conversations with a few folks sitting around us, which added to the enjoyment and atmosphere. You sit, sip, eat, and listen to incredible music and song... like couldn't be better. Lillias White performed the night we attended, and her show was outstanding. Her voice was crystal clear with incredible range and so connected with the audience. What a fun, enjoyable night of stepping back into the old days of lounge singing. The staff is so professional and attentive and totally on their game. It can be a pricey night, but oh, so worth it!

I'm giving a 5 star review with a caveat. The space: five stars The service: five stars The drinks: five stars The show: (the Judy show) ten stars...honestly i was crying i was laughing so hard. The food...oye. I see why dinner is required if you want to see the show. I assumed "supper club" meant the food was going to be amazing. Everything we ordered felt like Buffett food. The veal was so tough I could barely cut thru it...in fact they only gave me a butter knife, and i practically ended up with the veal in my lap trying to saw thru it. I think i counted 2 small potato halves on my plate with a few vegetables. The crab cake app was fine...nothing I'd ever get again tho. My partner got the Bouillabaisse...and said it was bland. The carrot cake desert was pretty amazing tho. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes? The experience, ambiance , drinks and service definitely made up for the subpar food.

$18.03 Gazpacho w. tax. Hard pass. Restaurant, yes, I'd go again, just not that dish…read more The gazpacho had a structural and ingredient imbalance. A classic gazpacho relies on an emulsion where sweetness, water content, and acid combine to find an exact equilibrium. Here the tang was very forward and overpowering. The tomato deficit was the first issue. There was no sweetness, no umami. The tomatoes didn't seem truly ripe, and the soup lost its primary source of natural sugars. Unripe tomatoes are high in malic acid and low in sugar, meaning they don't provide the sweet counterweight needed to soften vinegar. That imbalance left the acid in the soup, aggressive. Also, the flavor of the tomato makes one wonder if there was possibly canned tomato juice in use. Then there's a missing cucumber component. The menu referenced "cucumber essence". Cucumbers, amongst other properties, would bring a crisp freshness on the palate. It acts as a natural diluent and with its water content to help mellow the concentration of the vinegar. A few cubes of cucumber would have benefited the dish tremendously. In researching the pepper choice, I found out that it also worked against the balance. While red bell peppers provide a deeper, earthier sweetness that supports ripe tomatoes, yellow peppers are brighter, thinner-skinned, and more citrus-forward. In an already highly acidic base, those amplify the sharp notes rather than grounding them. As for the protein, there may have been an ounce of lobster in the soup. Lobster is sweet, rich, and delicate. But because the gazpacho base leaned aggressively tart and sharp, it was completely drowned out. Instead of tasting luxurious and sweet, the harsh acid flattened it. For this soup to work, it should begin with fully matured, vine-ripened tomatoes, hand-selected and pressed to extract their pure essence. Sieved, free of pulp and seeds, the tomato broth delivers savory umami balanced with bright acidity, subtle sweetness, and the fresh aroma of the vine. With the remaining ingredients added, the gazpacho base transforms into something rich and seemingly weightless, yet complex, vibrant, alive, and intensely fresh. Unfortunately, this recipe missed on all marks. When I walked in the door, I was greeted as a party of one and directed to the bar outside. At that time, a table wasn't presented as an option. At the bar there was a seat hanging off the end, sadly anchored there. Instead, I went back and asked to sit at an open two-top just outside, across from the bar in a corner. There I sat and watched as the crew moved through service. After a few minutes of sitting at an empty table without being noticed, and without a menu or water, I started my timer and looked up, trying to catch someone's eye. After five minutes, I was noticed. The server, once I was finally noticed, was outstanding. Within four minutes, my server took my order and brought me a setup, bread and a bowl of soup. The bread was warm. The butter was cold. The soup bowl was chilled. Oh, in the outside patio area, there are ducts for the AC, but there are definitely areas where the chilly wind don't blow. If you sit outside and are sensitive to heat, choose wisely.

That level of hospitality immediately impressed us. We started with cocktails, and there was a great selection of creative drinks to choose from. For appetizers, the Crispy Brussels Sprouts were the standout of the meal--I can't recommend them enough. We also enjoyed Jake's Deviled Eggs and the General Tso Cauliflower from the seasonal three-course menu. For our entrées, we ordered the Filet Mignon, Grilled Flank Steak, Rosemary Salmon, and the Penne Alla Checca with Blackened Garlic Chicken. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. We finished with the Key Lime Bar, which was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Even though we sat on the patio in the middle of summer, it never felt hot. The misting system, plenty of shade, and beautiful greenery made it incredibly comfortable, and once the sun went down, it was absolutely delightful. The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and attentive, our drinks and water glasses were always full, and our plates were cleared promptly after each course. Jake's exceeded our expectations in every way. Between the exceptional food, outstanding service, and beautiful patio atmosphere, it's easy to see why it's one of Palm Springs' favorite restaurants. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it.
