Review is solely based on food as I ordered takeout. The price is absolutely abysmal for the portion you get. I got the beef saltado ($25) which barely had any tomatoes in it. French fries and beef were dry. Would not get again.
Good food, great service, nice ambiance. Lomo Saltado with the tender (I think that's what they called it) cut was delicious. Side of plantains to go with the meal and a glass Cabernet was perfect.
We went for lunch and the shrimp soltado did not disappoint. There was plenty of meat to veggie/fries ratio. The aji sauce to go with the complimentary basket of bread is hard to stop your hand from eating. You get two baskets per table and extra is $3.50. This dish is a perfect blend of spice and flavor. The side of rice compliments the dish and adding that aji sauce to every bite is unbunbelievable.
Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the OC location or going to the theater stop in and enjoy this beautiful amazing restaurant and delicious food authentically from Peru and Lima. You gotta taste it great location safe parking safe all lit it up. The service was great. must stop in and try the food. The green sauce is delicious.
Absolutely love this Peruvian spot across from South Coast Plaza. They have a large menu, plenty of seating, and friendly staff. I've tried several dishes from them and have been happy with everything I've ordered. The appetizers here are definitely fun to share and they have some really tasty ones like their fried chicken and this potato/shrimp/vegetable layered one. Food does take awhile to get to your table.
The empanadas were a great starter. We got one beef and one spinach and loved both. The Filet Mignon Saltado was excellent. They initially accidentally gave us just the regular beef and it was a noticeable difference once they fixed the order and brought out the filet mignon. Delicious! We were happy to see that they have Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc wine from New Zealand!
Delicious Peruvian dishes, with very traditional style decor, but also a modern twist. The fried rice is my favorite to go with any meal. There's lots of seafood items, so if you're a fan, this is a great spot. I like to start with the fried yucca appetizer. You pretty much can't go wrong with whatever you choose.
This is usually our go to spot for Peruvian food. Been here multiple times and their food has yet to disappoint. Everything I've ordered has been delicious and very tasty. We've tried the Tallarin Verde Con Pollo, chaufa combinado, lomo saltado, and chicken and beef empanadas. Don't forget to order extra ahi sauce!
Went on a Sunday for late lunch. Food tasted really good, however, my dish (Arroz con Mariscos) was lukewarm. My friend ordered the Chaufa Combinado which looked like it came fresh out from the pan. I could see the steam coming out when she was mixing her food. Each order can be shared by two people. The bread also seemed old and not warm. Our drinks (Chica pisco) also tasted good and sweet, but it seemed like there was no alcohol in it. Service was fast and the place is clean.
Due to Peruvian food crave on the way home from work, I searched for the closest restaurant and this place popped up so I decided to give it a try. It would have been nice to dine in for the full experience but I went with to-go option and postponed for next time. This place had unique Peruvian decorations that entertained me while I was waiting for someone to help me with the order. The sofa at the entrance was a nice touch to the coziness as well. When the server came with the menu as soon as I told her that I would like to to-go the foods, she asked if it was my first time at the restaurant and then recommended what she likes, which was helpful deciding the order. She was very polite and friendly. Since it's my first time visiting this place, I went with the usuals, which was Arroz Con Mariscos (Peruvian paella,) Lomo Saltado (Seasoned beef sauteed with onions, tomatoes, cilantro, French fries, soy sauce and garlic served with rice,) and Tallarines Verdes with Shrimp (shrimps served on a bed of spinach and basil cream sauce with spaghetti and parmesan cheese.) All three dishes were tasty and had great portions so I was satisfied with their foods.

My dish was the Tallarin and I was very impressed. I have a favorite spot for Tallarin in Cerritos but this one might be my new favorite. The pasta was perfectly al dente, nice bounce. The sauce was rich and decadent. Creamy but also a lot of flavor coming through. The whole time we felt very taken care of. Staff were refilling drinks and bread. Very attentive staff. 10/10

I have tried the: - Tallarin Verde Con Pollo (must order) - Onions and Lime Juice (must order, love eating this with the green sauce and bread) - Spinach & Cheese Empanadas (must order) - Macho Fish - Chicharron De Pollo - Plantains (must order) - Arroz Con Mariscos - Lomo Saltado - Aguadito De Pollo (must order) - Drink: Chica Morada (must order, it tastes like a Jamaica Christmas beverage lol) I really look at a Peruvian restaurant based on the Tallarin Verde Con Pollo, it's my favorite Peruvian dish of all time and this place has my favorite. It is not dry, spaghetti noodles are used, has lots of spinach and basil flavor, the fried chicken is cooked perfectly, and I love eating it with the green sauce and the onions in lime juice. Inka Mama's is my go-to Peruvian Restaurant. Thank you Inka Mama's!
Randomly saw this place mentioned on reddit so I had to check it out. I saw a lot of pictures of the "causa", so I had to try that out ("shrimp causa"). Also ordered the "cabrito norteño" and "ajiaco de mariscos". It was my first time trying Peruvian food, but it was a great introduction because everything was so delicious. While I was extremely happy with everything I ordered (the causa really is a must-try!), I'll be honest and also say that for its price, the ajiaco de mariscos was just okay. A bit pricey for what it had to offer (everything else was great though!). The lamb meat from the cabrito norteño was fall-off-the-bone levels of tender, for instance.

Inka Mama was a fun spot for Peruvian food, I did enjoy the food and the service was fantastic it just didn't hit like other Peruvian spots I've been to. The restaurant has plenty of seating and a good view of the outside shopping centers. It has a nice vibe especially if you're doing a dinner and they have a nice cultural influence. Service was amazing, the host was checking in often and the food came out in good time. The food overall was decent. Honestly I've had Peruvian food with more flavor profiles and payed a little less, the chicken was a little dry and did not have that Peruvian, you usually get some good spices and citrus with Peruvian food and it felt closer to fajitas with French fries. The yuca fries were actually done really well but came with no sauce or dip and the empanadas were good but fell apart t very quickly. The filling was good and there was a whole green olive inside that had more flavor than the meats. I would have chopped up the green olive, and integrated it more. Lastly the fried rice was pretty good to be honest ... I think that was the best thing I had while there but it did need some of that spicy kick. Overall I would return to Inka but it will not be my first choice for Peruvian food. read more
Visited Inka Mama's for the first time after catching a concert with the Pacific Symphony at Segerstrom Music Hall. We called ahead of time to see if there was a wait, absolutely not. I got the Cabrito Norteño (highly recommend). My in laws shared the Arroz con mariscos (don't recommend, the dish was dry for some reason). Service was great and parking was easy. read more
When you think of Peruvian in Orange County, Inka Mama's usually is the first thought that comes to mind. Lomo Saltado is the next thing that comes to mind. It's delicious beef stir fry with veggies, fries, and rice. Paired that with green spicy sauce, it's quite amazing. Recently had a chance to visit here for a team lunch. This time, I decided to be goo and skipped the fries and opted for all veggies with the beef and rice. Figured the rice was more than enough carbs :). Service was typical since we did have a larger crowd. Totally understandable that a few dishes were switched. We really didn't mind who got what since more of their dishes were delicious. Always great to try something new from a good restaurant. Inside was a bit warm though. I think their AC was out during our visit. I feel bad for the kitchen staff if it's warm in the dining room area. Overall, food was great, service was good... always love visiting Inka for delicious Peruvian food in OC. :) read more

Back again, and another excellent experience! Roxie was really cool and friendly. The arroz con mariscos was so delicious, and the estofado with tenderloin was too, like last time. I tried the chicha morada drink and loved it! I like the level of sweetness and taste of cinnamon. It's a really calm ambiance and a nice place to dine at night. I love it here! read more

We've been here a couple of times. I usually get the tallarines verdes with chicken. Always hits. What misses sometimes is the apps. The ceviche was good, but we got a plate with all fried food and it was a little much. Not bad, but not something I recommend nor would we get it again. We'll probably just come here for our favs. Portions are big so it's always a plus! The service was ok, and we are always seated with no wait. The place is usually pretty calm. I don't think it was ever really crowded whenever we've gone. read more

I've been here several times now. All their food that we've had was pretty delicious, but what sets them apart is that their aji verde is better than any other restaurant I've been to. I buy one to take home every time I'm in town. We've tried the ceviche, empanadas, yuca, and lomo saltado-- I recommend them all. read more

I've always loved Inka grill and this was even better! We ordered the Saltados with beef and it was so delicious. The famous green sauce wasn't as spicy as I remember in the past but still so much flavor! Service was good for a busy Wednesday night, and the restaurant itself is cozy and perfect for our date night! read more

First time Peruvian food! Their aji sauce is on the spicier side, each meal comes with free bread and sauce. The service is really attentive and vibe is more casual. I think this place offers a lot of variety for Peruvian food. I liked the lomo saltado, it was well seasoned and the rice has some butter in it. Their cod has a distinct taste and shrimps are peeled well. Their ceviche is super lime tasting (makes the onions yum & pairs well with the potatoes), but is mostly cooked. I liked the squid in it, but was sad that the fish was cooked. I would go to try Peruvian food due to the variety dishes and drinks offered! Their green sauce is deliciously spicy and smoky. So after trying once before and not 100% loving the dish I got, I decided to try again since my sister was raving about another dish. We got the tallarin verde with steak. And oh my goshhhh!!! Talk about redemption at its finest!!! It's now one of my favorite dishes by far!!! I used to only get the lomo saltado but honestly feel my recipe is better but this one is extraordinary!!! It is HUGE so got to take half home for my hubby to try and we ended up coming back again and were able to split the dish! I definitely want to try to copy the dish!! But seems like a lot of work so might just stick to buying it The place was really busy especially for them closing an hour before we came. The server and staff were friendly! Recommended the crepe dessert with plantains and dulce de leche and their Peruvian ice cream. My hubby loved it but I didn't care for the plantains too much! read more
this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Its been a while since i last visited this place. I work in irvine near the airport and would sometimes venture out here for lunch. But due to covid and working from home, its been a while since i last been here. I don't recall if they raised the price or anything, but a lomo saltado now costs +16 dollars. I think a year ago, they might have had a lunch special with lomo saltado and it was like 13 bucks plus a soup/salad. not sure if they are still doing that... anyways, i ordered to go and got the lomo saltado with an empanada. Luckily i was able to order only 1 for half price (when i got there they mentioned next time i needed to order a pair) I'm very glad they provided bread + green sauce. that green sauce is extremely addicting. The lomo saltado was delicious and really filling. you really can't beat fries + rice combo soaked in beef juice. The steak was also tender and flavorful. The empanada was small, but it was really tasty. They also provide a small sauce container and that sauce (not sure what it is) packs a punch. Kinda sour and spicy. read more

From my experience I didn't have any spicy dish, I'm not a fan of spicy food so I try to avoid them - good luck.
