The hand that blocked the screen

If I could give this place 0 stars I would I came here with my mom on may 10 for mother's day, while we were eating the tv screen fell ontop of us none of the staff came and helped they chose to ignore us, we told 3 of the staff and all of them just said sorry but didn't do anything nor did they chose to say anything I can't believe we were ignored, at the end my mom went up to the front and talked to them but all they said was sorry and all they could do is offer us free food but we just ended up leaving because they didn't seem to care we are never coming back to this dump after so many years of being regulars and family friends with the old owner we were treated like this shame on this restaurant, on the side note when the tv screen fell on us it injured my hand and glass shards fell all over our food and leaving behind difficulty to take of peices of glass on us.

Mama (Mayumi) has poured so much of herself into this restaurant, from the artwork on the walls to the warm hospitality that makes it feel like you're being welcomed into someone's home. (Oishii Desu "It's Delicious") If it's your first visit, don't skip the Okinawan specialties. The mountain yam dishes, rafute (braised pork belly), Okinawan soba, and an ice-cold Orion beer served in a frosted glass are all part of what makes Habuya so memorable. It's a place to slow down, share plates, and enjoy the experience. I'm genuinely happy to see Habuya getting so much attention on social media because it's well deserved. My only hope is that as more people discover it, they also help preserve what makes it special. This is a small, family-run restaurant, so please be patient during check-in, be kind to the staff, and remember that many guests have been waiting for the opportunity to enjoy the experience as well. Come to appreciate the food, drinks, and Okinawan culture--not just to snap a few photos and leave. One thing to keep in mind is that if you don't drink alcohol or follow a vegan diet, the menu may feel a bit more limited. But if you're open to experiencing authentic Okinawan cuisine, Habuya is truly one of Orange County's hidden gems.

They didn't go cheap with the scallops. They were indeed giants! The Garlic Butter Queen Clams came in a sizzling plate and the sauce on the shells was bubbling when the plate arrived. It was loaded with good portion of crab meat and super savory! The place was as loud as it can get. And the service was fast and efficient. We sat and got out with happy tummies within an hour.

Hands down, some of the best seafood dishes around! Everything is so well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The servers are also super friendly and attentive, which definitely helps make the experience better. Just know that this restaurant is BUSY. Do not come expecting a quiet, slow-paced meal. The food comes out quickly, the place is loud because it's packed, and you can definitely feel the hustle and rush. But honestly? I keep craving the food here, so I brave the crowds and come back anyway. It's THAT good. One thing to note: definitely ask the servers about the menu, but don't feel like you have to order everything they recommend. Our server raved about the coconut prawns, which were $60, and unfortunately, they were not worth it for me. Long wait, loud atmosphere, questionable $60 prawns... but I'd still come back for the seafood.

They knew we were here for our anniversary, and they had a card with rose petals on our table. Everyone stopped to say Happy Anniversary, including the manager. Our server, Destino, truly took care of us and made our experience extra special. He was more than just a server. He was a working professional that truly knew how to take care of two customers and didn't miss a beat. As if that wasn't enough. I haven't even talked about the food yet! They had an insanely large menu! We had a tough time deciding. I've never seen an oyster selection as big as theirs, so we got the oyster sampler, and it didn't disappoint. It was fun trying oysters from different regions and comparing the flavors. I had the soft shell crab and my husband had the chilean sea bass. We both win! Both dishes were excellent. Great wine selection. My husband had a syrah and I had moscato. Both were amazing. We were switching and taking bites off each other's plates. For dessert, they gave us a three flavored deep dish cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. What an incredible ending to an unforgettable night. Best part of the night came at the very end. Coincidentally, when we were getting ready to leave, our song was playing! I would have thought my husband planned that! Thanks, Water Grill! We hope to be lucky enough to dine with you guys again!!!

Papa Fish, the owner of the Crab Cooker, knew me from my days as an employee. He was a very special man to work for. Unfortunately, he is not around to see how times have changed and this place is slowly losing its customers. The product is still the same. The fish is cooked just the way Papa Fish wanted it to be cooked. However, times and demographics have changed. This restaurant is not attractive to younger folks for some reason and it is very sad to me. The question is can The Crab Cooker adapt to the changes in society? I'm thinking of Bear Flag in Newport Beach? Fresh fish served every day and the place is packed from the time they open to when then close? What are they doing differently? The Crab Cooker in Tustin is still great fish cooked the correct way. It is still my favorite seafood place to go. I hope things get better for this place and the customers keep coming.

It's been a while but returning for my third visit with friends. You can smell the aroma of seafood coming from the restaurant about 6 cars away in the general area (e.g., or if you're waiting outside on the bench). Upon entering, you'll find yourself in a "seafood market" aka a display of a variety of raw seafood options and cold precooked soups. There's also a small corner selling some merchandise by the hostess booth. The restaurant is quite big -- seatings are separated by partition front vs back half of the room. Service is decent and nice -- nothing special or standout that I can remember. I am not sure if I'm a fan eating from paper plates and plastic utensils....sort of off, especially trying to "slurp" off a shallow plastic soup made to scoop ice cream not soup. :(( I'm not sure if the prices of the entrées or not, but for a Friday at 6 PM dinner time, the restaurant is only half full. Maybe it's because there's NO FREE bread basket. We had to pay for a sourdough bread basket which was different from most places. I was a bit taken back but rolled with it, no pun (or bun) intended. We ordered scallops skewers and soft shell crab combo which comes with two sides (you chose from 6 different options). The food is delicious so don't get me wrong, but while I was seating I couldn't get over how pricey the entrees are for an average amount of food. Granted I'm not a gluttony but do want my side portions be a bit larger. :)))
