Wow! This place is very good. I was pleasantly surprised. Very reasonably price. I got the ell bento and baked scallop roll. I ordered togo it took me about 20min to get home. The food was still warm and very good when i got home. The only con i can possibly say is the location is a bit off. Its small and in a random plaza with 711 and taco bell. I imagine this is why they can keep their prices very reasonable though. I imagine the rent is cheaper than most other locations. Don't let the location fool you this is very good and the service was great. I look forward to dining in next time. read more

What a truly hidden gem in a strip mall in Santa Ana next to the post office! I've been passing this spot when I come and visit my friends snd today finally gave it a chance! This place looks like it's ran by a mom and pop that seem like really passionate business owners. The restaurant is located in a strip mall thats sort of in the ghetto. Me and my sister with my nephew decided to take a chance! We walk in but sadly the place isn't really kid accommodating because the place only has high tables. So definitely not a place to bring young kids or 2 year olds because they definitely won't sit and keep still lol. Kind of left me disappointed but I ordered from the table using the QR code and waited for my food. I got the king eel bento box with fish sticks. I received my food and it looked delicious but did it taste delicious?... eh it was okay. The fish sticks tasted kind of like the frozen ones you get at the grocery store lol. The eel pieces were good but were a bit fatty. The salad was delicious though! Overall I paid $18 for the meal and have to say it was okay at best. I think what really sucked was they had no low tables to accommodate my nephew and other than that the food was okay. I would say look elsewhere for your sushi fix but if you are in the area, support mom and pop businesses like this place! read more

Stopped to check this place out because it was down the street from the Santa Ana Zoo. It's definitely hidden as it is surrounded by industrial buildings. The workers were very nice and welcoming. I ordered the gyudon (beef bowl) and it tasted fine, however, the egg was cold as if it came straight from the fridge. The tonkotsu ramen was also decent but the egg and meat were also cold. I'll give a 5 star for service but I witnessed our dishes were put in the microwave which wasn't exactly what we were looking forward to when going to a restaurant. read more

What a pleasant surprise! I certainly was not expecting decent quality sushi at this random Santa Ana strip mall. The salmon and unagi rolls in particular are very tasty and they do not shy away from the amount of fish they give you. The dragon roll has shrimp tempura inside which isn't listed in the menu. Not sure if it's an accident or not but it's a very nice touch. And the prices are so cheap. The value is off the charts. Not everything is amazing though. The beef gyudon bowl was too fatty. Also the seared salmon bowl was way too saucy. For the most part though this place has been solid Also the location is very sketch. There are homeless and crackheads are outside that 7-11 on the regular. On the bright side, you can order online in advance and just run in and pick up your order. Really fresh sushi at an affordable price! They also have really good bento deals for $12-$17. Highly recommend the beef and tempura or one of their sushi sets. If you order for pick up i recommend finding the picture of the QR code as it has no extra fees compared to using door dash pick up or fantuan. read more

I saw a reel in Instagram to come check this place out! Came from Riverside and sad to say this is NOT sushi!!!!! Their recipes are not Original. They had extra seasonings and dressings and none of their menu items had what is in their roll to know what's in it. The second you walk in there's a strange smell. Their seating/chairs are so uncomfortable! But the cherry on top of out night was we saw they add mustard to a roll and we said oh no thank you in the mustard and the owner/husband huffed and puffed and agreed that canceling that order would be easier but was YELLING at his wife/server and being total disrespectful and made me feel even more uncomfortable I couldn't get out of there sooner!! hidden gem is what another reviewer said and i agree. it's in a little plaza and should probably be more busy because the food is good. we came here because the menu had a wide offering, to satisfy any japanese craving. the ramen was better than some specifically ramen only spots. the sashimi salmon bento was so good and fresh. i wish i took a picture of the box. it came with this egg that had baked crab meat that was one of the best things i've had. on top of the delicious food, it was all reasonably priced and the service was great. i'm assuming she was the owner but she was really nice to my girls. read more

What the heck?! This place is so humble and unassuming. I believe someone wrote in their review "hidden gem", I couldn't agree more! If I didn't just open up my shop across the street I would never have known about this place. It looks like they have a decent offering, but I had to go with the basics and if they pass, then I'll explore the rest of their menu. So I got the 10pc nigiri and I was shocked that it was GOOD. The fish tasted fresh and the rice was correct in vinegar ratio and temperature. It wasn't fancy and that's why I loved it, especially because I don't want to pay for the fancy price points. Haha. This place would be the definition of hole in a wall spot. Friendly waitress, the moment she saw our water get low she would come over to fill it up. The food was served in a timely manner. They have been consistent with the food quality. My favorites include: Ankimo Soft Shell crab hand roll Negitori hand roll Spicy tuna hand roll Hotate nigiri Salmon sashimi Tuna sashimi Escolar I strongly recommend skipping the baked mussels. It's chopped up tidbits of dry and rubbery mussels that's placed back into the shell. As for the 'sea chicken' on the menu, I have yet to find out what that is.

Despite the staff's claim that the restaurant was extremely busy, we observed that it was only approximately 50% full at 4:30 PM, and our order had been submitted at 4:10 PM. We were initially informed that we would need to wait 10 minutes by a female staff member, but upon calling again at 4:40 PM, we were told to wait an additional 10 minutes by that same female staff member, at this point the restaurant appeared to be at full capacity. I'm not sure if everyone was dining in or waiting for their to go order. The service we received was unsatisfactory, as my family was ignored and subjected to rude remarks under the breath of one of the female staff members, who said, "Take me outta here." This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the level of service one would expect when paying for an expensive meal. I am not dining here for free... and the staff acts like they are paying out of their own pocket to buy me a meal. Furthermore, when my daughters went inside the restaurant a second time, they were informed of the extended wait time. The sushi we received was poorly assembled and had wasabi all over the rolls. My daughter doesn't like wasabi on her rolls and raku sushi has never done that before. Typically there's a barrier between the food and wasabi like a green leaf. This seemed to be an act of retaliation for our complaints. Additionally, I was hung up on the phone during a follow-up call by an employee named nick, which is highly unprofessional. Kevin was kind enough to take my message and give my request to upper management. This incident is not isolated, as I have experienced similar issues in the past, although they were not as severe when I was the one waiting alone. However, the treatment my family received was unacceptable, and I am left questioning why our presence was deemed a burden on wait staff during a period of supposed busyness. customers should receive respect NO MATTER HOW "BUSY" THE RESTAURANT IS. I hope people stop coming here until management recognizes an issue with their wait staff.

I think this place was decent, overall. The prices were definitely on the higher side for what you get. Nothing too much to rave about other than the agedashi tofu, so I will be by for that again, but not sure if I would necessarily get anything else. Service was attentive and great. Just know, not all their offerings are actually listed on the menu, so we did not even know how much the stir fry udon was until we got charged for it.
