A bit to sweet and bubble gum taste

The food is good lacking a bit of flavor. Portion size is great. Ladies are friendly.

I was walking determinedly. Ignoring all the DTLA was offering. I was on a mission: find and try authentic and tasty ceviche. I marked my spot with a big X - Inka Wasi. And boy was I surprised! The mixto ceviche was delicate with thin slices of squid, shrimp and fish all swimming in a citrusy Leche de Tigre which is a spicy and acidic Peruvian marinade made primarily from lime juice, fish juices, onions, and chili peppers. The aji Amarillo topping it all added to the wonderful tang of the dish. I'd that wasn't enough, the choclo, the Peruvian corn was hot, and chewy. The perfect hot and the perfect chewy. Just enough to offset the coolness (both in temperature and texture) of the ceviche. I may be strange that way but I really don't tolerate monotextural and monotasting dishes. The "stuff it all together in one pot and cook it till nothing can be distinguished from anything else" is just not to my liking. This is why the ceviche was so successful in my mind: it combined temperatures, texture and mouth feels. Each unique. Each contributing to the overall bite sensation. A simple dish, elevated. Then came the platanos. So many times I have to stress "maduro!" Soft. Ripe. Well done. Not here. The platanos came out perfectly. Just right. With tiny bits caramels on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. A great companion to the ceviche dish, adding depth and flavor. Ambiance is basic, with red and white uncomfortable metal chairs a-lá IKEA style, and basic tables. Not much to enjoy but I'm here for the food not the good ol' red, white and more white! It's counter service that came with a soft smile. How pleasant!

I got sick and didn't have any soup at home, so I ordered the Aguadito soup. It was extremely delicious, and helped me to get well! The price was very reasonable. I got 2 soups for $15 with tax (although it's probably cheaper away from Uber Eats). The soup was very colorful and flavorful, but my only complaint is that there could have been more chicken. It felt like both bowls only had one piece of chicken each. But outside of that, it was pretty solid! I can't speak to the service and ambiance since I didn't dine in, but everything was securely packaged and still warm when it made its way home. I look forward to trying more items from this place! I only heard of it because I searched "soups" on Uber Eats. That's not even their main dish, so I'm excited to see what else they have to offer!

Good and decent Peruvian spot in DTLA. Going in, the staff took care of me and were pretty friendly. I took my number and chose a seat and they would bring my food to me. I got the Lomo saltado and it was pretty good and flavorful. The steak wasn't tough which I appreciated. I wasn't the biggest fan of the large amount of onions in the dish. I was surprised that the fluffy rice was seasoned and garlicky which I liked. The potatoes soaked up the flavor, but I wish they were crispier. Maybe double frying them would make them better. I smothered everything in the green sauce which elevated the dish and provided a nice kick to everything. I also liked the complementary chicken rice soup that I got which was flavorful and had rice and veggies in it. Everything was solid other than the price. The Lomo saltado was a decent portion, but $18 for the size was too much. The can of inka cola that I got was also overpriced, at $4.50 a can. I also did not like how the prices for many of the dishes weren't displayed on the menus.

Still friendly service and amazing food. Everything is cooked fresh and price is very reasonable for the massive portions. It's pretty healthy too. There's only one dish that has a little sugar - the pollo picante. Can't go wrong with the embosado though, ive had w both steak and chicken and i actually think the chicken is even better!

I got sweet potato fries and the rice chicken soup . The fries were really good but skimpy portion. The soup flavor was amazing but also skimpy there was one piece of small chicken in it . It was mostly rice I paid $16.19 for 2 small soups and a side small sweet potato fries. I would try again but not the soup or maybe just ask for them to not be stingy with the chicken.

Inka Wasi is a great little spot in dtwn LA. Stopped late later in the evening as I was visiting town and needed a quick sit down place. You can order to go or order and they bring it to your table. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu on the wall does have the prices. We settled for some pollo a la brasa, lomo saltado y yuca a la huacaina. The food was good, portion was good too. If yij are in the area and want a good Peruvian bite def stop by.

Had a sudden craving for lomo saltado and decided to checkout Inka Wasi. Restaurant is spacious and staff were friendly! + Lomo saltado 4/5: Beef was tender and juicy, veggies were soft, and garlic rice was well-seasoned. It was a very hearty and flavorful meal. The complimentary soup was surprisingly tasty as well. It was big portioned so I ate the second half the next day. I will definitely come back!

    Great flavor in soup
    Danny M.

Not bad, not the best Peruvian I've had. Lomo Saltado had nice flavor but was a tad light on the sauce (which I like to mix with the rice). Rice had good fglavor as well. Balance in the Lomo Saltado was a little out of proportion as well, meaning, not too many fries in the mix. Wouldn't liked the tomato's chopped up a bit instead of whole slices. The Aji sauce (which I essentially spread over everything) had a slightly chunky texture and was also slightly bland. The cilantro chicken soup was really nice. Might be back, might not.

We came here after a workout and I hadn't had Peruvian food for a while so we decided to try this instead of going to Chipotle. The appetizer soup was good, it tasted like rice congee! The fried rice with minced beef tastes exactly like what my grandmother used to make. Yellow sauce plate looks great and resembles a Thai curry dish. It's definitely worth a try. Overall, it was a great find, and I'd definitely come back for more. Who knew Peru had a Japanese president? I didn't know that! Fun fact of the day.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

The drinks were excellent, high quality, beautifully presented, and definitely one of the highlights of the visit. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, which were delicious. The salsas were packed with flavor, and the fresh tortillas really elevated the dish. I'd recommend ordering the fajitas as an individual meal rather than sharing. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. It took quite a while to receive menus and be acknowledged. Our bartender seemed very disengaged, there was no greeting, no small talk, and the interaction felt pretty transactional. I even asked for his name, it was unique, but I completely forgot it. Something with a C or K? One of the other bartenders stopped by to check on us and was much more personable and welcoming. There also seemed to be an odd dynamic behind the bar. The staff didn't appear to interact much with one another, which created a slightly uncomfortable vibe. Plantains had a perfect amount of salt and crunch. The thinly sliced red onion was also perfect. It was very flavorful and probably better than Holbox-- if you have been. 10/10 (2) TUNA CARPACCIO YUCA TOSTADA #2- this was the best bite overall, it is definitely small and you finish fast but the flavors were just outstanding. The tuna itself was so fresh and it had a nice acidic flavor with the perfectly crunchy tostada!! 10/10 (3) KANPACHI CEVICHE #3 - a coconut predominant flavor with a mild acidity to it. It also pairs with plantains and they were fresh and perfectly crunchy. Was weary about the corn at first but honestly couldn't taste it and it was so good! (4) AFRO-CARIBBEAN SHRIMP DUMPLINGS #4- my bf loves shrimp and said this was very tasty. I'm not the biggest fan of shrimp but thought it was very creamy, fresh, had the classic shrimpy sweetness and a coconut creamy sauce to pair with it that when used on the rice tastes like a sweet milk rice. These were cooked perfectly. (5) fried chicken #5 - solid fried chicken and good crunch to it with the chicken being very well cooked but I cant say I was blown away by it, it has good flavor when dipped in the sauce which has a nice smokiness and acidity to it that makes it really tasty. However if I came again, I probably wouldn't order again. Lastly we ordered the toffee dessert which was classic and yummy. Nice shareable size. Overall, would return 100% and bring friends from out of town. Terrific flavors and service and definitely a top LA restaurant.
