I had a Lomo Saltado. It was AMAZING!! The stake was so tender that I cannot stop thinking about it. I will come back again.

Saw the reviews on Yelp and decided to stop by with my boyfriend. We ordered the lomo saltado, mixed ceviche and caldo de res. Everything was delicious, so well seasoned and packed with flavor. The owner also came out and talked to us as well. He was super friendly and gave us a run down on the restaurant. They've been there for over 40 years are a legacy restaurant! You can tell how's proud he is and even mentioned his chef has been there for over 30 years. Definitely a must try!

Yes, it's really great and worth visiting. I had a fantastic lunch the other week - and thanks to Yelp's love, I found Mex Peru Gipsy because I wanted to know what was available in the are I happened to be. Lovely Saturday afternoon, and sitting outside was the perfect way to go. Inside is where you order, and where the kitchen is (plus beverages). It's a nice view of the pedestrians and the neighborhood businesses at work. Big menu, probably couldn't go wrong with anything, but I went with one of their most famous dishes: Original Lomo Saltado. Hope you're hungry! (Sautéed Filet Mignon strip, French fries, red onions, cilantro tomato, soy sauce, oyster sauce, red vinegar, Peruvian garlic rice. With chicken available) Say YES to the homemade sauces when they are offered. Yes, one is super hot, but you can handle it! Great way to explore the shops in the area and support local businesses. So glad I found my way here.

I've had this restaurant circled for a while but never actually followed through until today--and wow, what a mistake to wait this long. Hands down, one of my favorite restaurant experiences to date. One of my hesitations was always parking in DTLA, but that ended up being a non-issue. When we arrived, the staff let us know we could park right out front or in the single parking lane along the side of the restaurant, which was a huge relief. We were greeted by Juan (not sure if he's the owner or manager), and from the moment we walked in, he made us feel like family. The hospitality alone was outstanding. We ordered a few dishes because I wanted to try their most popular plates. We started with the ceviche--completely different from any ceviche I've had before, yet it stood head-to-head with the best I've tried. Absolutely incredible. Next was the Lomo Saltado, which was my first time having it, and the flavors were unreal. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. I'll definitely be back as soon as possible to try more of their menu, and I'll be recommending Mex-Peru Gipsy to everyone who asks. A must-visit spot.

Found this unassuming restaurant while browsing for a lunch spot near work. Super friendly staff and amazing food. The lomo saltado had the perfect amount of flavor and joined the clean plate club. Will have to return to try their other options.

I did say next time I was in LA that I would be back. Still great food. Some of my favorite tacos I've ever had. Ownership and workers are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. They have a counter inside to eat at if you want, but I highly recommend sitting outside and taking in the sights and sounds of the fashion district while you enjoy your tacos or lomo!

What a delicious spot!! we had Lomo Saltado, and it was the best one we ever had!!! The staff was very sweet and friendly, and the food was to die for. The steak was delicious and was so tender and juicy. Highly recommend!

We finally got to try this place after a friend kept raving about it, and it did not disappoint! The Lomo Saltado and Tallarín Verde were delicious, and the meat was incredibly tender. We also had the chance to meet the owner, Juan. Hearing his story and seeing how passionate he is about his restaurant made us love the place even more. We will definitely be back!

Some restaurants are memorable for the food. Others for the people. Mex Peru Gipsy does both. We sat street-side in LA's fashion district, surrounded by wholesale racks and fashion hustle, and somehow it felt like we'd been transported somewhere else. We joked it's a little like dining on a knock-off Rodeo Drive, except the food here is the real deal. The owner, Juan, came by to chat and immediately made us feel at home. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and it's clear they genuinely care about your experience. Then there's the chef, Felipe, who has been cooking here for over 30 years! Someone who loves and takes pride in what they do day after day, year after year. You can taste it in every bite. We stuck to the Peruvian side of the menu. The shrimp ceviche was bright and balanced. The lomo saltado had tender filet, onions, tomatoes, and fries soaking up the savory sauce. The tallarines verdes con carne asada was rich green sauce over pasta with perfectly grilled steak. The quality could easily hold its own in a fancier restaurant, but there's something perfect about the way it is here -- relaxed and unpretentious. You want to come back and try something new, but at the same time, you can't imagine ordering anything else.

Best Peruvian food in DTLA. Perfect ceviche, customer service was very friendly, and a fun atmosphere

Had an excellent experience dining at Mex Peru Gipsy! The lomo saltado was absolutely full of flavor. They use filet mignon and it was incredibly tender. The horchata was delicious, and the fish tacos were so yummy too. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The staff was extremely friendly and made the whole experience even better. I can't wait to come back! They also have some good music playing while you dine.

Here is our order: Chicha No Nada with Pisco: A very refreshing drink! Adding pisco was a right choice, making it a perfect cocktail to start off the vacation. Bass Ceviche: A great Peruvian-inspired dish! Highly recommend adding the crispy quinoa crusts for additional $3. Wood-fired Skirt Steak: This dish is very similar to Lomo Saltado, which is our favorite Peruvian dish. Steak was cooked to perfection. Yuca Fries: This dish was very interesting, featuring chorizo, yuzu-cilantro, pickled ajis, and cotija. It was delicious and perfect as a side dish. While the food was excellent, the portions were quite small for dishes that are "meant to be shared" as descrived by our server. Albeit this, our dine-in experience was very positive and enjoyable overall.

I ordered the quarter chicken with rice and salad, and I was really impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and gave me the kind of authentic Latin food vibes that I love. The sauce was definitely the highlight for me--it was so good that I found myself adding it to every bite. The prices are also fantastic. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. We were told that because we had ordered our food to go, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we had already paid for the same food as everyone else dining in. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely the reason I would come back. If I'm in the area and craving their chicken, I'd absolutely return--just with different expectations regarding the seating situation and service.

Upon entering the restaurant, you'll feel transported into another country almost. The disco ball, the mood lighting, the live piano and singer, and overall upbeat energy was an instant vibe. I love how enthusiastic the staff is about the food, especially our server Gaia, who was an absolute gem. She kept our corn seeds refilled all evening (which by the way, was SO good and SO filling). The items we ordered were so unique and definitely felt like a true fusion of Peruvian and Japanese culture. We ordered: SPICY CRAB HAND ROLL: Wow, love the crunch and aioli in this!! Very flavorful, and the subtle crunchy texture was incredible. HOKKAIDO SCALLOP: Not sure what fermented douche paste is, but this was also a banger. It was fresh, and had an almost milky flavor to it. The bomb. SHRIMP DUMPLING w TIGER MILK AIOLI & SESAME LEAF: This was probably the highlight of our evening. Our server Gaia highly recommended this. I'm not a huge dumpling person, but she convinced me that it was worth it. I cannot rave enough about this dish. The subtle milky and creamy sauce drizzled on top of the shrimp dumpling was incredible. Idk if I'd even call it a dumpling because the shape was very interesting. The sesame leaf gave it such a refreshing aftertaste. Highly recommend this one! JAPANESE CURRY RAVIOLI: Probably my second favorite! I've never had curry ravioli before but what an audacious idea! MISO COD: Loved the little puffed things on top of the miso cod!!! Pretty standard dish, but it was really good! SALMON SKEWERS: Came highly recommended by Gaia, so of course we ordered it. Flavorful as heck, and love the sauce that it came with! BLUEBERRY PIE: Ohhhh boy, this was the most decadent and delicious pie I've EVER eaten. It came with a bunch of whipped cream, and two scoops of ice cream. The pie was so thick, it tasted like how fairy tale storybooks describe a pie made with love by someone's grandma. The slice is HUGE too, so you're def getting your money's worth for $15. Yes the food here was great, but our experience was truly elevated by the staff, especially our server Gaia! Her laidback yet enthusiastic vibe made us feel super cared for. I can't wait to send all my friends here so they can experience Hummingbird for themselves!!!

Asked him if he wanted to go get a bite. I told him let's find somewhere that has Salmon. Since it was late afternoon, I didn't think there would be any chance to find something good. I yelped Seafood Near Me and Lonzo's Peruvian Restaurant popped up. We looked at the pictures and the food looked good. I was eyeing that Crispy Salmon. We drove three miles and got there around three pm. When we arrived there was plenty of parking on the street. As we walked up to the door, it didn't look like they were open. My son tugged at the door and it was locked. Just as we were walking away a young woman came to open the door. She said they were having a meeting, but they were open for service. We were seated in the front of the restaurant. They also had a huge dining room on the side. The young lady served us some fresh bread with this delicious green sauce. She took our drink order. I had a plain ice tea and my son had a Peruvian soda called "Inka Kola" My son kept raving about the bread and green sauce. It was good. We decided to try the Grilled Spanish Octopus as an appetizer, my son ordered the Arroz Chaufa/Fillet Mignon, and I got the Crispy Salmon. Before I go any further I just want to say that each dish's presentation was TOP NOTCH. (See Attached Photos) When I first saw the Grilled Octopus, I thought damn this looks so good I don't want to cut it. I told my son to take the first bite. The look on his face was priceless. He said, "Mom this SLAPS!" I cut off a piece and it was so tender, it melted in my mouth. We got our entrees and I must say again my plate was BEAUTIFUL! When they say CRISPY SALMON they meant it. Both the skin and the meat had a crispy texture. The Quinoa was very good. The side salad had little vegetables that were cut star shaped. The salad's ingredients (apples, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados) were so good I barely used the dressing. I just ate it. I must admit I was hungry, I cleaned my plate. I haven't eaten like this in a while. The portion sizes were just right. My son loved his fried rice, although he said it was a bit salty. He had a second, Inka Soda. He told me , "Mom, we found a new place near my house. I will definitely be coming back here!" Y'all don't sleep on Lonzo's Peruvian Restaurant. It was worth every penny! We will be back!

Our fav are the anticuchos (beef hearts) they taste exactly like the ones on the streets of Lima. Sooooo yummy. We always get the fishermen ceviche, the lamb chops are to diiiieee for and do NOT go without getting the arroz con mariscos. We love the service there, the team knows us now and they always take care of us. We started going before I was pregnant, went while I was pregnant, and now we go with our brand new baby boy! The team has seen us grow as a family and we love being a part of the Lonzo's family too! We come here like, once a month at least and it never fails. We love that they expanded and added more seating and tables. Today we went and also watched a World Cup game, it was a fun environment and we always end up talking with other tables and enjoying Lonzo's together. Great vibes, the best Peruvian food in LA. PERIODDDD.

From the exceptional food and drinks to the warm hospitality and beautiful location, every visit is a wonderful experience. the service is always welcoming and attentive. I've recommended DAMA to so many friends over the years, and it has become a favorite for them as well. It's rare to find a restaurant that maintains such a high standard year after year, but DAMA does exactly that. I truly love this place and can't recommend it enough. I have several favorite dishes and celebrated many birthdays here. Thank you for six incredible years--I look forward to many more.

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. Valet parking or park across the street or around the corner in a lot for $5-10.
