Let me start with saying WOW!! The Lomo Saltado was seasoned to perfection! I went during the lunch hour rush and the food turnaround was still faster than other less busy restaurants. What really stood out was the balance between quality and value. Portions are generous, and you can tell they don't cut corners on ingredients. Only draw back is if you dine in, you can't have refills and you have to go up, wait in line, and pay for another drink.

DELICIOUS! My whole meal was delicious, I definitely plan to come back! I tried their chicken sandwich with fries and I'm obsessed with their sauce!

Love the server Nicole. Not so much the other ladies. My friend said the fries he received were not freshly made but maybe heated up. They were stale & bland. Also they shorted him shrimp in the mariscos plate. They didnt want to do anything about it. They gave him stale fries, they didnt want to do anything about it.... I hate going to places that act as if -- you are bothering them, when the way they prepare food is lack luster..

Their chicken taquitos have toothpicks in them and they're quesadillas have pieces of bone their chicken is burnt and to top it off when you try to hold them accountable you get screamed at by the bitch who claims to be a manager so stay away from this place if you can, there is far better peruvian spots in the area. The managers are all on minimum wage slave trips as they like to scream at their customers.

My friend and I tried the lomo saltado--he got chicken, I went with beef--and both were delicious. The salsa was fantastic and really added a great kick. Service was friendly and attentive too.

First time to Caveman Kitchen. Will not be my last. Second, it's close to work. First, because I enjoyed it. A lot. I didn't enjoy the parking. I showed up after work and ended up parking down the block. I thought I might have to do a few laps around the neighborhood but lucked out and caught someone taking off from a spot my car fits. If you know me, I don't have Zoey anymore. My new ride, Caleb doesn't fit everywhere. There are spots in the plaza where the restaurant is, but when I pulled in, nothing was available. Walk in, order and find a seat. I got there early so I had to order a few times as I didn't know when my party would arrive. Not a big deal but just know it's not like you get a bill for the table and just add to it. Get up and order, get your number and everything will be brought out to you. Though not quite full service, the staff is friendly AF. If you need anything, just ask. Also really helpful and I appreciate that when I did order, one of the counter staff told me to order the dessert and let her know when I was ready to avoid having to place another order. I really enjoyed the food. The Mariscos Saltado hit the spot. Along with the Plantains for appetizers and for dessert. See pics. I even had their "Caveman" beer. Sorta like Pacifico but a full bodied and went well to kick off the three days weekend (went last Friday). Dining are can get a little loud with the music then adding the people. So, don't go hoping to have intimate conversations. Go there to eat. Eat well. Like I did.

Love this place! Food tastes like you are eating in your mom's kitchen! Everything is cooked to perfection along with an amazing presentation in every dish! We came here to eat and I asked the manager if he can put the Laker game on and he went out of his way to install Amazon prime and made it happen! After a long days work this definitely made my day!

I would really give this 3.5 stars. I ordered the popular Lomo Saltado and it was just okay. I felt like the meat needed more flavor. It came with rice but no beans. The sauce was really good, just needed the meat to taste like the sauce and it would have been much better. Also I felt there was way more fries in it than actual meat. But not bad. I just wouldn't get it again. Shopping center parking.

Ayoooo! Back at it again at Caveman Kitchen for their iconic Lomo Saltado. It's one of the best in LA, reasonably priced and delicious AF. It's a cool lil spot where you can catch a game. Quick service, parking lot and cards accepted. Try out this lil Gem!

We paid $86 plus tip she didn't deserve for lomo saltado, pescado frito and shrimp cerviche. $100 for 2 people and couldn't even get a refill. I'm good with paying that price if the service reflected that. In conclusion food is good- but not good enough to pay the high prices and bad service.

The Peruvian food is still as good now as it was then. I ordered the Aquadito de Pollo which is a chicken soup with a distinct herbal flavor. There is plenty of tender chicken in the soup. It was a good start to my main which was Saltado de Pollo, my favorite. The dish was nicely prepared with a good ratio mix of chicken, onions, tomatoes, and French fries. It was not too salty at all. Rosty seems to make an exemplary Saltado de Pollo. The Chicha Morada was refreshing with the meal. I would return to Rosty if I am in the area again. Dining areas are comfortable with staff being friendly and efficient. The neighborhood looked gentrified with many other businesses in close proximity to explore. Street parking is usually available on the side streets if none is found in front of the restaurant.

I ordered the quarter chicken with rice and salad, and I was really impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and gave me the kind of authentic Latin food vibes that I love. The sauce was definitely the highlight for me--it was so good that I found myself adding it to every bite. The prices are also fantastic. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. We were told that because we had ordered our food to go, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we had already paid for the same food as everyone else dining in. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely the reason I would come back. If I'm in the area and craving their chicken, I'd absolutely return--just with different expectations regarding the seating situation and service.

Outstanding food, super fresh. * Perfect for dates or groups, and also has a bar seating area if sitting at a table isn't your vibe when rolling solo (me, most of the time). * Awesome place that's non-pretentious but elevated at the same time. * Staff are welcoming and super positive, friendly, welcoming, professional. * Couldn't recommend it more!! A must-go restaurant. Read on for deep dive stuff or if you love a good novel... Vibe - is casual, but in a sexy and a solid-date-spot way. The atmosphere is fun and colorful in unexpected ways, and every team member we interacted with was really, really nice and seemed genuinely dedicated and excited to be there. Food & Founder - The chef/founder is **world-famous** and the taste, quality, and depth/breadth of the menu reflects this. Don't even get me started on the flavors. I heard that he named it "the hummingbird" because when he was growing up in Peru, he would be like a hummingbird, going from experience to experience, picking up knowledge and expertise. I love that. New to Peru - A couple members of our group had never had Peruvian food (including myself!) but we were guided in what to order and all were INCREDIBLE. We were like, jumping in head-first, trying dishes that rewarded us with outstanding flavors and SUPER fresh ingredients. Peruvian Pros & Overall - I've seen a lot of reviews and social media from dedicated Peruvian food enthusiasts, experts etc. who all highly recommend The Hummingbird. So we know they love it/approve. And from a newbie to Peruvian food perspective, I too would recommend 100%. Just so impressed and excited that I can't wait to go back. If you made it this far, good for you! And in summary, The Hummingbird is a total gem.

The word of the day is FUNKY…read more 1. Food. It's at best a 4 star. My favorites were the grilled salmon and lomo saltado although both portions fit into the palm of my hand (Well, everything we ordered did so beware - who needs Ozempic when you can go here for dinner?). Ordered a few ceviches (king salmon, yellowtail, scallop) and was not impressed. It was fresh but exceptionally fresh. Flavors were okay, I expected to be more impressed by the fusion but it just felt performative. The quality of the fish does not match the prices they charge. The teas were great but they were also $14 each for like a grande cup portion from Starbucks. Also everything is non alcoholic except some random THC drink and like a beer? Funky. 2. Service. FUNKY AF. I made a reservation for a birthday for a party of 7 (you have to DM them on IG for parties 7+ btw) earlier in the day. They DMd me back saying no problem and changed my reservation to a party of 7 (it was previously at 6, the max). My party gets there at the reserved time. Upon entering, there was no greeting, no welcome. I felt like I entered some secret society where everyone's in on a secret except you. The server (tall male) eventually comes up to us and the first thing he says is that our reservation was changed to 5pm without notice and seemed to be blaming us for the mix up. The Opentable app doesn't even allow me to edit my reservation since edits for parties 6+ are not allowed. It must have been a worker here messing with the reservations and we got caught in the crossfire and they ended up blaming us. The cherry on top was that they never did anything for the birthday person nor even acknowledged his birthday. DO NOT come here for a celebration because your vibes will 100% be killed by the end of the night. The servers here give "I put an ad out on Craigslist and hired whoever showed up". Not sure any of them know what they're doing. We were seated for 15 min with no water. I had to flag them down since they were busy chatting and hanging out. The server with short blonde hair in a ponytail passive aggressively brings us water and then zero cups. Who brings jugs of water with no cups? Then we had to chase them down again to get cups. "Chase" them down since the restaurant is the size of a garage so clearly it was intentional they were not checking in. Everyone had sour attitudes the whole night as if they are not willingly employed here. 3. Ambiance. FUNKY!!! Do NOT be fooled by the videos guys. This place is like a run down, local dive bar trying to serve Michelin food. You can just FEEL the inauthenticity and performativeness of the place. This place is musty. It's on the corner with trash everywhere and a bus stop outside, and no parking so there's your first red flag. There's no central AC so prepare to suffer. They play loud and constantly genre-changing music that makes no sense. I tried to DM them on IG to get them to explain the reservation mix up and avoid writing this review and I'm currently on delivered for 12 hours - although they're quick to respond to a reservation request! I wish I could rewind time and tell my past self to avoid this place at all costs. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND and will never be returning. Holbox in DTLA puts this place to shame. Please go there instead of you're looking for fresh ceviche. The prices they charge actually match the quality of food and service. There are way too many better restaurants in LA for a place like this to continue to be in business. Good luck!
