My first encounter with Story coffee was their collab with Meadowlark dairy - the soft serve and the milkshake. They were both so true to taste, not sweet and just so good! So it was Meadowlark who brought me here. I ordered the sweet latte. The coffee's nutty flavor comes through well in this drink. Although it was a "sweet" latte. It actually wasn't too sweet. Overall I was very pleased with the balance and flavor of this drink. This is probably my favorite latte in Livermore so far. I would come back in a heartbeat. Great, chill vibes here. I've been here only once before a long time ago! I remember the shop having a great aesthetic and cute merch. Summer menu looked good! I got a matcha latte with their sweet syrup (I think it's just a simple syrup). Took a while to get our drinks but we must've missed a rush since the line was shorter. There is some seating but not a lot, with a few tables also outside. We waited in the back for our drinks and used their restroom (it was very clean!). I have gone here a couple time so it is time for a review! This little gem is located in the busy downtown Livermore by Maple Street and Cheeseparlor. Parking get be difficult at times but there is street parking and the big parking structure isn't too far from here. This cafe can get really busy on the weekends especially on Farmer's Market Sundays. I have tried a couple different drinks and all have been very good. The combos they make are delicious, not overly sweet and plenty of strong coffee that I require in early mornings. I also tried their seasonal matcha with cherry foam and that was also delicious, great balance of subtle sweetness and acidity. Forgot to mention the store is small so I think this is more ideal to take to go and walk around downtown. read more

I was excited to see flavors in croissants. everything croissants, has seasoning of everything bagel and some cream cheese inside. I loved the combo. ok - was in the area again dropping my girly pop off at doggy camp and so i had to stop in again to grab my energy before errands and work. Parking lot was already full to my surprise as I didn't expect this place to be poppin at 8:30-9am but pretty steady flow. Ooh and there was this hottie cop on there today and I hope he sees this lol!! Ok so reason for my updated review is to say that getting here early, you get a wider variety of pastries. I've heard so much about Story Coffee and was finally able to check it out for myself. I dropped off my truck at Les Schwab in Livermore for a tire rotation and they told me they needed two and half hours. Okay, no worries. I decided I'll go to the movies to "The Bride". I walked one and a half miles to downtown Livermore in flip flops and still had 45 minutes before the movie started. I remembered Story Coffee is nearby so I walked over to the coffee shop and boy was I in for a treat. The vibe is off the hook and they have waffles just like being in Europe again. I paired my waffle with a cappuccino and both were amazing! The gentleman at the register was great and figured out a way to make the drink caffeine free for me since it's originally made with cold brew. However I am very annoyed with businesses that don't accept cash. I understand it may be "easier" as a business, but it's our official currency! And I prefer to pay for smaller purchases, like a $6 coffee with cash. Anyways, got my drink and I feel like it needed more flavor. this coffee shop took me by surprise! while the menu seems limited, i promise you, the quality of their items is 100% there. if you get anything at all, let it be the waffle. i was skeptical at first, but the reviews are right. it really is out of this world. it's served fresh, hotter than a hot cake, with the perfect level of sweetness and a mochi-like softness that's chewy and oh-so-satisfyingly delicious. as a snack, it filled both my belly and my heart. i also appreciated that alternative milk (almond or oat) was available for their drinks. they had an earl grey latte that was on their seasonal menu, and it was phenomenal. sometimes you need to give an extra shout-out when bathrooms are surprisingly well maintained, and this is one of those times. i was so pleased with the cleanliness and aesthetic. this is the most perfectly charming coffee shop. if only it had more seating and a larger space in general -- it would be the perfect place to come and get some work or reading done every day! read more
