Always a favorite. I tried a new entree: Brasato The short rib was tender and flavorful. The polenta was creamy. I usually don't get a dessert because I love their cocktails. But tonight I decided to try the Tiramisu. It's was delicious! As usual, we always get the best service here. They treat you like family! Love the cute bread basket.

The interior was pleasing to the eye with colors that make patrons feel comfortable and relaxed. The food was amazing and the servers made sure to check in to see if all is well.

Came here for a family dinner and it was a nice location in downtown Pleasanton. We were seated outdoors, which was nice on a pleasant Saturday evening. A little bummer that bread service is an added cost here but the food was good. We started with brussels sprouts and shared a pizza. Both were good! I got the Tagliatelle Boscaiola and really enjoyed it. My dad really enjoyed his Brasato (short rib), it was cooked nice and tender. Everyone enjoyed our experience here, the food was good and service was attentive!

Locanda Amalfi has a warm, sunny atmosphere, and the food and service make you feel like you're in Italy! We started our meal with appetizers--Mama Carmela's Meatballs were three oversized meatballs in tomato sauce, topped with Parmesan and crostini (garlic toast); the Fritto Misto was a plate of lightly breaded Monterey calamari, tiger prawns, zucchini, and artichokes, served with a side of creamy capri sauce for dipping; and the Octopus All'insalata was a salad of lightly dressed arugula, olives, cherry tomatoes, and fennel, topped with tender pieces of octopus tentacle. The appetizers were decent, but the real highlight of this restaurant was their freshly-baked pizzas. The Amalfi was a light, summery combination of yellow San Marzano tomato sauce, fiori di latte, burrata, pesto, and red Sicilian Datterino tomatoes; and the Norcina was an aromatic, umami combination of truffle crema, fiori di latte, Italian sausage, and mushrooms. Both were absolutely delicious, and the best part was the authentic Neapolitan pizza crust--thin, light, and chewy all at the same time! Overall, this was a fantastic dining destination with quick, friendly service and a beautiful atmosphere too.

Although I went here for the 1st time a few weeks ago, I came back here again for my parents anniversary dinner. We started off a fritto misto and zucchini flower (the name on the menu I am forgetting). The fritto was fine, but would have been better with a different sauce. The zucchini flower was amazing, I would go back just for that. For dinner, I ordered the brasato. The meat was perfectly cooked and practically well apart. It paired perfectly with the palenta. Our waiter was very attentive and provided god food and drink recommendations. We sat outside so the ambiance was very relaxed but still felt elevated. Still need to try the pasta from here so I will definitely be coming back! :)

My first time here at Locanda - I came with a long time friend who'd recommended it (a former colleague whom shares my affinity for italian cuisine). My first impression was how lovely the decor was. The color pallet makes the restaurant so inviting and the addition of colorful tiles and plate settings add a sophisticated contrast. 10 out of 10 on the interior design! The service was friendly and our meals were served quick. They were also beautifully plated and reasonably portioned. The dish I'd ordered suited my taste well - I absolutely enjoyed it. Would I come back? 100%

Went around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and was pretty packed. They told us they couldn't seat us inside anymore until like another hour (there were tables open inside the entire time we were there) The server was excellent and the food came out SO fast. Like it was instant!! We got the calamari, marg pizza, and penne vodka pasta. The calamari was delicious but the mains felt short. The marg pizza was just okay. The sauce was delicious but I don't like soggy pizzas. The pasta I did some modifications- no cheese but subbed tomatoes and basil. The sauce was incredibly bland. I had to add salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and even more salt before I actually tasted a bit of flavor which was disappointing. The dessert was the best part. Limencello cake was incredible and worth the bland food. Chocolate cake was also delicious.

Casual restaurant with an authentic feel. Service was friendly and competent. Food was very, very good. Really this place is a 4.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 5. Probably my favorite Italian restaurant in the Tri-Valley, probably beyond. I very much enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. Recommend it highly. It's all about the food without the pretense.

Dinner and drinks at this cute restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. We loved the Antipasta Locanda and ordered extra bread on the side. The pappardelle bolognese was amazing and perfect for sharing. The meat on the brasato was slightly fatty, but overall had good flavoring. Drinks were made well, so we ordered a second round.

Smack dab on Main Street, Pleasanton sits a quaint Italian (Napoli) restaurant with outdoor seating to enjoy some of the best weather in the world. We were promptly seated on a Sunday evening and served water. The menu had a decent selection with everything made in house. Both salads were flavorful and I have to say that I don't like beets, but these were well done. The bolognese wasn't as healthy as I expected but these noodles were amazingly well made and cooked. I'm very much looking forward to coming back to enjoy downtown Pleasanton while imbibing in wine, food and laughs.

To celebrate my FIL's birthday, we decided on Locanda Amalfi in Pleasanton. Our reservation was for 7PM and we were seated immediately. This restaurant fired on all cylinders. From the straight forward menu, the cute atmosphere, great food and amazing service, our entire party was satisfied. For starters, we were treated to Foccacia bread with pesto. The warmth and lightness of this bread was very comforting. Add on the pesto sauce for that extra flavor kick. Our drinks and appetizers came out shortly after. I was really impressed with the speed of service. For such high quality food & beverages, the turn around time was quick! The special old-fashion that had a hint of coffee flavor was refreshing and unique. To put it bluntly, this was one of the best old-fashion's I've ever had! Water was continually being refilled by one of the staff members. My main course consisted of the beets salad with an add-on of grilled shrimp for protein. My waiter made this suggestion and I'm glad he did. It was delicious and fulfilling. The servings here are generous and plenty. Nobody left the restaurant hungry, I can tell you that much. The food shined but so did our waiter; very friendly, accommodating, generous and overall a pleasant individual to work with. He taught us a little bit about Italy and other random food & drink facts. It was a pleasant evening and I look forward to coming back!

I had a great experience! My server Nico was very attentive and enhanced the atmosphere. The bread basket felt dry since there was no oil or anything to dip it in. The pasta was very tasty and I would recommend. The tiramisu was okay I was a bit disappointed with the flavor and the presentation.

The food is good, the beer selection as awesome and the atmosphere is super casual and fun. It can get a little noisy at times, but there's plenty of outdoor seating for more quiet. What I like best about it is that it really feels like you're going to a place that treats its employees and its customers like family. I'm not a big reviewer, but I felt compelled to share my last experience with Porky's. After ordering, I stopped by the ladies room before going to get a beer. One of the stalls was out of toilet paper and all I could think about was that Seinfeld episode. Wanting to help someone avoid an embarrassing situation, I went to the counter to let them know. The person I tried to tell was kind of rude and waved me off. It was really weird because every other interaction I've ever had with employees there is best described as hospitality instead of just service. I was going to shrug it off. Everyone has off nights, but it was just so out of character for this place I felt I had to say something. I submitted an online comment via their website and figured that was that. Two days later, I got a phone call from Patsy. She was appreciative that I brought it up, asked for more details and promised a follow up. A few days after that, I got a very nice handwritten card from her letting me know they had worked with the employee, who was sorry and was just having an off day. My own mother doesn't send me handwritten cards anymore. I was never going to write the place off after a single incident, but this kind of care for people means I will always keep this place in rotation when the "what do you want for dinner?" Question comes up.

In addition to the pizzas, we also added roasted cauliflower, wings, and the meatballs. Both their Buffalo and BBQ wings were fully sauced. Maybe instead of their ranch, will consider asking for more of the applicable sauce. Meatballs were drowned in what appeared and tasted like the same red sauce in the special pizza.. Which now makes sense because both have Zachary in their menu name. These were also boxed up. Roasted cauliflower was well seasoned and a good balance between all the red sauce. They have their own parking two spots which is huge because there is no curbside parking. This is a sole location. They have other things on the menu also. Ice cream deserts and mango lassi. The interior is very nice , clean and attention grabbing . The pizza s are legit and taste traditional true Indian flavors and much lower cost compared to Tandoori pizzas franchise. They have been open for a few years so they are definitely doing something right! Give them a try while supporting them you be the judge.
