My husband and I were on a work trip in Oakland and I was dying for a matcha on our long drive back home to Las Vegas, so we stopped at Grounded! Although this was a tad off the freeway, it was easy to find with plenty of parking. There were beautiful trees & plants outside, which also surrounded the patio area. There was a good amount of seating inside as well as one gender neutral restroom. I thought the one seating counter with built-in phone chargers was awesome. The space was clean with a modern yet rustic feel. The employees were fairly friendly and made our drinks rather quickly. I got a matcha latte with oat milk & brown sugar vanilla syrup added. They had so many unique syrup options that I had a tough time ultimately deciding, but the brown sugar vanilla was honestly such a great choice. I'm an absolute matcha snob and make my own at home all the time; the one I had at Grounded was quite delicious and I could tell they use a higher quality matcha than most other coffee shops, which made me happy. My husband went simple with a cold brew coffee and said it had a good flavor with low acidity, which he very much enjoyed. Next time we have to drive to/from Oakland for work, we'll be stopping in again and my husband will likely be taking a bag of beans home too now that he knows the coffee quality was high. The drinks here are wonderful. The baristas know what they're doing, everything from matcha (made with a proper chasen) to the pour overs are just scrumptious. The food is mostly not gluten or lactose free, but the owner, Holly, has made me special salads so that I can get something to eat there. This month, 02/2026, they have gf cakepops shaped like roses. Just had the perfect latte. I know, basic - what's to rave about...but hear me out. Most of the time baristas are just warming the milk, or even worse - scorching it. The one I got today had just enough frothing to lighten it up. Also, I only drink decaf and so a lot of the time, you are getting this bitter option for the espresso. Shout out to Grounded-Livermore for being open on Black Friday! There was no shortage of patrons coming and going but the initial reasoning why I made a pitstop was all thanks to my toddler. While on the road, early into our 2.5 hour drive needed to make it to our destination, my 5yo let out a cry needing to immediately go to the bathroom. As luck would have it, Grounded was the most promising location. With her happily able to empty her little bladder, I made the decision to grab me a much needed jolt of caffeine since I was already here. I placed my order for the [November Special] Vietnamese Cold Brew with Ube Cold Foam. 12oz seemed to be the largest size offered and will set you back about 7 bucks, pre tipping. Coffee is made to order so it did take a bit of time due to the heavy flow of patrons. Coffee didn't exactly give me Vietnamese coffee vibes but was delicious nonetheless. I always pass by this place and I finally stop and tried it! The coffee was amazing and they got the beignets I love! I'm not sure the name is the coffee but from what I remember I love it but they have soy milk which is a plus! The place has merch to sell abut expensive too, they have good designs too. Really awesome coffee shop tucked away in a little shopping center. I ordered a gingerbread latte ($7) and an americano ($7), both larges. The coffee is made to order and definitely tastes handcrafted. The decor is much cuter than I expected. It has a great coffee shop vibe with a variety of merch, coffee beans, and other goodies for sale. There's also a small selection of community books and games. I decided to get coffee one morning and left irritated. As I was waiting for my coffee, "Only Girl" by Rihanna was playing and the two baristas were having a conversation about Rihanna and her music. The lady had repeated the lyrics and asked her male coworker, "Does she say 'I want you to love me like I'm a hot pie?'" and her coworker said, "No, but you never know with these white girls" in which, she condescendingly responded with "Rihanna's not white". He had understood and responded with "I mean, these white girl music". I decided to drop it, but still felt uneasy about that comment. Once my name was called to pick up my coffee, I overhead the lady say "white girl name"... I am confused as to why that comment was necessary, considering she wasn't making my coffee nor is my coffee order being correlated with my race. This isn't the first time I've heard this lady make unnecessary comments. Prior to this, she had made a strange comment on my coffee order which again, she wasn't making herself. If this is the business they choose to run, I will save my money. This is ignorance and stupidity from a subpar overpriced coffee shop. read more

Very warm, inviting staff, great coffee (including matcha done the right way with a real bowl scale etc.) and lots of things for kids of all ages- from Dr. Seuss books to board games. This place is excellent for coffee and food. I always get the mocha which is delicious and has three shots of espresso while only costing $6.50 for a 16 ounce. I've gotten the same drink at many other places and no one comes close to this price. They have a small menu for food but so far everything I've tried has been very good. I wanted to check out a different coffee shop in Livermore, so I did a Google search and found Grounded. Admittedly it was off the beaten path and took me to an area I've never been to, so it was cool exploring a new neighborhood. I pre-ordered their January specialty latte called the "Biscoffee" latte. Appreciated the customizations available through their online POS by the way. You could really make any kind of latte under the sun with all the flavors and syrups they had. They also offered a wide selection of alternative milks. I was pleasantly surprised that my latte wasn't overly sweet. When I grabbed my drink at the counter, I couldn't not notice the display case of their giant cookies. I got a mint chocolate chip cookie. The flavor was OK. Wish it had a more prominent mint flavor. The texture was not what I expected. It's really dense and hard, and you could throw it at someone like a rock. The cookie was loaded with chocolate chips though. I hung out at Grounded for a couple of hours to take a few work calls, and it was an ideal place for remote work. They have speedy wi-fi, offered USB-C cords for charging, and had an entire power strip where I could plug in multiple electronics. I attended a Sip & Sweat event at CrossFit 580 where Grounded was featured and then I visited their location for their 2 year anniversary celebration featuring multiple local vendors. I was immediately greeted upon entering the shop; we looked over the menu before ordering the counter. The breakfast sandwich looked amazing so we ordered that and a drip coffee. Grounded was my regular go to cafe until recently. Their food and drinks are delicious and I love how they have a dedicated new drink each month where they donate some of the proceeds to a local charity or cause! I've tried the breakfast sandwiches which are really tasty especially with the sauce. My go to drink is usually the smores latte or their monthly special drink. I appreciate how they have a rewards system and it honestly kept me coming back pretty often! Grounded feels like a community oriented cafe, and it feels good supporting a local business instead of chain coffee shops. The workers are welcoming and kind, and you usually end up seeing the same faces! The space is on the small side but has enough seating and outlets to get work done. There is also outdoor seating! The only and main downside is their WiFi. Unfortunately the past couple times I went with someone, both of us had trouble fully connecting to the WiFi. I believe they need to reset their router and WiFi once in a while to refresh the network. I usually only go to cafes when I'm working, so if the WiFi issue gets fixed this would easily be a 5 star cafe for me and back in my regular rotation! Grounded has to be one of the cutest and coziest coffee shops that I have been to! I stopped by one morning a few days back for a much needed caffeine fix before heading into the bay and I was glad I did. There's plenty of parking and easy to find the cafe even if you park further away like I did. The inside of the shop is nice, spacious, and clean. They have coffee and merchandise that they sell as well. Service was efficient and everyone was friendly. I decided to share the Spiced Vanilla Bean Latte with my partner after the barista recommended it since it was her favorite but I was a little bummed out and underwhelmed with it. I wished it had more flavor to it but it really didn't taste like "fall in a cup" like she described it. The breakfast sandwich was tasty and very light, it didn't feel heavy or greasy at all. I went try this coffee shop for the very first time this week. This coffee shop is very hidden and lowkey and I do believe I found a gem of a coffee shop in Livermore. The service was really good all the staff members were super welcoming and the barista that was taking my order was super nice and patient with me when I was looking over the menu for a while. She gave excellent recommendations. The Ambiance was really nice, the coffee shop was in a corner of a lot so it was really nice view from the inside. The inside was had a cozy feeling to it. It did not feel like a Starbucks cafe feeling it felt really relaxing. There was not very many people when I went in the morning. The coffee was tasted good. I wish I could've asked for it more sweeter because I like my coffee more sweet than bitter, but overall they had a great selection of coffees and teas. I give this coffee shop / cafe a 4/5 stars. I will definitely be back more regularly and try out the other drinks they offer and will definitely try out the matcha tea they have to offer and give another review on it. read more

The coziest work cafe in the East Bay Area! Came on Sunday morning and they were busy - people kept coming in and out getting coffee. They have good options for both coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers. And they have great selection of pastries and sweets, breakfast sandwiches and toast! Nutella & strawberry latte - it is their February special drink and it was really yummy! As someone who does not drink coffee, I really enjoyed how the latte is not tooo strong, and the sweetness was just enough. And it is so pretty! The savory oats and breakfast sando are both fire!!! If it weren't for a coming influx of holiday sweets I would have tried one of their baked goods . All the food looked good. The service was stellar as well. My wife wanted the savory oats and I guess they had a complication with starting the oats on time but they made it happen with a very short wait. The vibe is cool too, definitely a classic millennial-owned cool coffee shop I'm assuming lol with neat night sky painting on the ceiling of part of the building. Small cafe tucked away on 84! They have a nice spacious interior with some local goods for sale as well. We enjoyed our sandwiches (the blat and club grounded). The sandwich was a little thin, but tasty overall. The milk bread really made the sandwich, it was spectacular! It had a lovely creamy flavor and was very gentle and fluffy to bite into. Nicely toasted. The bacon was flavorful, with multiple pieces. The chicken was pretty thin, about 1 piece. The lattes (honey lavender latte and white chocolate mocha latte) were just ok, not much to write about. The honey lavender tasted a bit off for me.
