Classy, neighborhood bar with a creative menu and what i think is a literary theme? - it was a vibe, surely! Service was friendly and quick. Payment is via tab, and you order at the bar. Affordable! - Beef Tallow Waffle Fries $15: sooooo rich and soooo goood. Waffles were crispy and the chimmi churri and garlic aioli, along with the crispy-ish pork bits were heavenly - Mocking Bird $9: ginger-y and refreshing! would get again! - Pale Ale $8: aight according to SO but he wasn't necessarily a fan of the draft beer selection - Inkwell Spill $14: friend would get again Easily found street parking at around 10pm. Would come back!

We were looking for a burger & a beer and decided to try this local tavern. I was surprised to see such great reviews, but now I know why! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated. It was around 7pm and the place was PACKED. Maybe 2-3 open tables only. You have to walk up to the bar to place your order for both food and beverage - which was kind of odd but also understandable. The lady taking our order, as well as the host/ waiter, were amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and attentive. The place is clean and the vibes are great. The food is even better... and my drink was the best! We tried the lemon pepper wings, kale salad, the smash burger with fries, and a dirty martini . I loved it all. Will definitely return

I think I found a new spot for happy hour and dinning on Friday nights. I wish I knew this place existed before. I really had a great time during my visit. As we walked, we were seated right away no wait which was surprising fora Friday night. Ordering is done mostly at the bar. The food came out really fast which was really appreciated since they were really busy. For food, I highly recommend ordering pretzel. It was so good. I can say it was one of the best ones I had since I love pretzels. I ordered chicken sandwich with fries. I really enjoyed my chicken sandwich and it was still fresh and yummy next day. Our drinks were great too. I should give a big shout out to the bartender who made the drinks. For ambiance, there are TVs for people who are interested in watching games. It is not loud at all and it was easy to have a conversation. Not like other places that you can't have a conversation. Parking, this location has a private parking lot in the back. Also, street parking is available too.

I visited Inkwell Tavern for the first time last Wednesday. I met with friends for dinner at around 7:30pm. I parked a block away from the restaurant, and it was easy to find street parking at this time. My friend reserved our booth in advance. It didn't seem super busy at this time; there were open seats by the bar and high tables. The tavern feels upscale, yet casual - a good place to meet with friends after work. We had to order at the bar first, and the food and drinks came out quite fast. I chose the Masala Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($16) and the Mocking Bird ($9). The Chicken Sandwich was delicious; the chicken was flavorful, and the fresh & pickled veggies balanced out the meal. The dish came with a side of French fries, which were perfectly crisp & salted. The Mocking Bird was a slightly tart and refreshing mocktail. The drink had a little too much ice for my liking, but it still paired well with my entree. Also, can't forget about dessert! We shared the Cast Iron Chocolate Cake ($12), which was very sweet and gooey in the middle.

Inkwell Tavern is a special spot. Classy enough for a date night, but not pretentious. Innovative, great-tasting food and drinks. Superb service. Lots of fun events, a lot of them weekly happenings. There's a writing and literature aesthetic, so expect to feel like you're in the library of a manor. Actual inkwells, shelves of books, Tudor panelling, an old typewriter - perfectly Instagrammable spot. My two favourite items are the "Turn The Page" tequila cocktail and their beef tallow fries, a skillet concoction of flavourful pork, chimichurri, and garlic aioli atop saturated, crisp waffle fries. They're very active on Instagram with their specials and events, so give them a follow to keep abreast of their limited offerings and weekly goings-on.

We came for a quick bite. My husband enjoyed his smash burger, but the vegan version was very dry. I always appreciate when restaurants modify kid requests and don't over price for basic butter noodles. Definitely a place for locals, with nice drinks.

Came for happy hour and I had Islands in the stream and Philly style pretzel. I love they have options for the pretzel and the pretzel was soft and so good. You order at the bar and your food and drinks are brought to you. There is street parking available.

We stopped in because we heard about Whiskey Wednesday. You get 3 - 1/2 ounce pours of your choice for $20. They had a nice selection to choose from. We tried a charcuterie board and wings to start. Both are very solid. I was very surprised by the salt and vinegar wings. I almost didn't try them, but I'm very glad I did. The Bahn MI sandwich was excellent. Small space with an intimate yet lively vibe. I would highly recommend a reservation if you can make one.

Drove by the location and decided to pop in for dinner. It has a great ambiance, the bartender was very quick with drinks, nice, and the drinks themselves were delicious. We ordered waffle fries (amazing), the wings (amazing) and the steak frites (amazing). The service was quick and efficient. We'll definitely be back!

Came here for a date after looking at the menu online, specifically to try the Islands in the Stream cocktail. It was everything I have ever wished for in a drink! We also tried the Oxford Comma, which was just as good. We had some snacks too and the salt and vinegar wings were a standout. One of our drinks was messed up initially, and the staff didn't hesitate to make it right immediately, without any attitude. I appreciated the tavern-style service, because I don't mind going up to the bar to order. It was the perfect setting for date night, snuggled up in a cozy booth with great people-watching. If we lived in Burbank, we would be regulars at this place. read more

Love coming to this place. Jorge and Katelyn were working behind the bar and are always super attentive and very welcoming. It's harder to find a red beer nowadays, and I love that they carry a delicious one. The kitchen is open late which is nice for people who want to get a bite after work. read more

Love love love this place! Even though we were sad to see Chained Rabbit go, Inkwell Tavern is an excellent replacement. The drink menu is delicious and well thought out - I couldn't get enough of the Inkwell Spill! We had some fries which were great and the garlic aioli is the best I've had. I wish I was a bit hungrier because the menu looks great. Great staff, great service, and bartenders were amazing. One even made us a custom drink which was outstanding!!! read more

I hosted a gathering of about 30 people here, and they were great. Delicious food (I had the smash burger and fries, and ate some of my friend's waffle fries.) I don't drink, so I loved that they had mocktails on their menu, and they were amazing. My favorite was the Whodunnit. Comfortable, upscale casual atmosphere, and great customer service all night. 5 stars !!! Came in after a movie to grab some food before the blue room next door and immediately fell in love. Ordered the scampi with shrimp and the roasted Brie. 10 out of 10 the kitchen makes these dishes with love. Ordered a sort of espresso martini- I guess they do not have coffee? But it was still amazing the bartender blended some different flavors while keeping a classic vibe. Will be back! read more

What a great spot! The staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drinks are perfectly made and very reasonable for the quality/quantity. We only had the burgers - but wow! Has false hours. Place closes "at whim" and then rushes you out and makes you feel uncomfortable. If your hours are different than what's posted, change them. I'm not going to curtail my plans or day because your underpaid staff wants to go home early. read more

Great new find! I recently met my best gal pals out for a ladeez night and I had heard some buzz about this place, so when we were trying to think of where to meet this was the suggestion. And we all LOVED it. Great food, excellent drinks, wonderful staff, cool eclectic crowd and all the design touches throughout hit just the right note. STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND GET OVER TO THE INKWELL TAVERN. This was our first time at Inkwell and we cant think of a better place to stop for a drink (and a meal, honestly). When you walk in, the bar has a very moody and elegant craft cocktail vibe. They also have TVs for sports and would be a great place to catch a game. The drink menu is classic and the spirits selection is refined, there's something for everyone. I got the Hemingway daiquiri and it was 10/10. I will be back and highly recommend You stop by if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Amazing food. My boys all had different types of wings and loved it. My husband and I tried the Brussel sprout salad and kale salad with homemade dressing. All of our food was absolutely amazing! I came across Inkwell Tavern a couple days ago when I was driving down San Fernando Rd. Decided to try it on a Monday and it turns out it was karaoke night and it was an incredible evening. Where do I begin... Amazing drinks, amazing food, and amazing talents. I did end up coming back on Wednesday because why not! When you find a great place with great food and drinks why would you not keep coming back! Love Love Love this place. It just may be my new regular spot. I highly recommend trying this tavern. All I have to say is there is a New Kid on the Block that everyone is going to LOVE because this place has really really really good food and the staff is very nice. I use to go next door to the bar called the Blue Room which I and my friends got ripped off many times by the bartenders by over charging us and just slimy unprofessional employee ways which is why I stopped going. The Blue Room bartenders attitudes are so moody and depressing, plus they would be starring at me and my friends walking to our cars to tell us not to go next door to the bar called the Chain Rabbit at the time. **But now since Inkwell Tavern has opened I will be "ONLY" going there instead of the next door bar called Blue Room. The happy hour specials are great to have $2 dollars off beers which saves money compared to other places which is a major plus I can't wait to try more of their cocktails and desserts to tell my friends about this new place and to avoid going to the blue room read more

This is the neighborhood place you've been looking for! Went for the first time on a Sunday and LOVED everyone who works here, the food, the ambience, all of it. It was a great mix of people, super chill and great service. Definitely check out the menu board on the wall, the manager pointed out they had a special pretzel that day and it was so good! I am so glad I came here tonight. Needed a bite to eat and this bar blew me away! The food is so rich and incredible! The manager Frank and the bartender Jorge are incredible. I had the beef tallow waffles with fennel garlic roasted pork and it was to die for. I asked Jorge for a penicillin cocktail, he was kind enough to muddle ginger to make it happen. The decor is amazing totally recommend this hidden gem especially if you like reading books!!! read more

Much improved over the previous establishment. The staff at friendly and adding the window to let the light in is a great addition. Wings with horseradish and a Gorgonzola dressing were a great pairing. The wilted sprouts salad was awesome and the smash burger was truly delicious. read more

Sad to loose the Chained Rabbit, but this will be a go to dinner for us anyway. The space is really nice, not too different. The bartender is still the same. Food was delicious. We got super excited and although the place was packed with no available tables, the employees kindly offered to add an additional table for me and my friend. The food was absolutely delicious. Amazing selection of drink both cocktails and beers. On a business trip, I experienced Monday karaoke and returned Tuesday for the best trivia that I have ever seen. I wish that I lived in the area because this is the best "bar around the corner" that anyone could ever ask for. Love. This. Place. Great vibe, fantastic cocktails and food, feels like a neighborhood spot that welcomes any and all. The staff are chill and friendly. I recently met the owner, Aaron, who is super nice and is also a comedy performer/impresario. He's got stories. As a writer, I love all the writer memorabilia. Ikea is nearby. When you're going insane inside there, walk over to Inkwell and feel human again. read more

This place is a true gem. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Everything on the menu is amazing, ambience is incredible and the service is spot on. I've been to Inkwell several times, and even held my company holiday party there in 2023. The day of the party, I can't even begin to describe how well they took care of us. There was a scheduling mix up on the day (which was totally my fault), and they immediately jumped into action to accommodate us and saved the day! PLEASE COME HERE! This is a great bar with friendly service and affordable pricing. The Art Deco theme looks stunning and the staff made my girlfriend and I feel very welcome. I loved the literature theme and the craft choices with food & drinks. The food was delicious and the drinks weren't too expensive. Inkwell Tavern was created to celebrate writers. An homage. Burbank has a deep rich history in the world of TV and film production and we wanted to create a place where our local writer, actor, production friends can sit and have a drink and food after a long day on set. It is not uncommon to see writers sitting with a laptop and working on the next great feature or series. Inkwell Tavern is a product of a group of friends that wanted to create a community around a bar/kitchen. The ownership also owns M.i.’s Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica. We hope you’ll stop in for a pint or a bite when in the area.

As it stands, it feels like what they served was about a $12-15 plate at most in "comps" value to what you might see at peer competitors, 'tho this is gourmet quality. If they doubled the portions served for $27, I wager they're profit margins won't get hurt on the cost of goods (food and portions) but I'm betting the customer care and satisfaction scores will bring back loyal customers with frequency. The service was friendly and atmosphere was nice with the outdoor seating. There's a sister restaurant, across the way with indoor dining.

Onion rings were excellent, and (regardless of the lemon-pepper) the better bet as a side. All in all, this is a great, comfy place with a good menu and a really welcoming staff. I'd go back in a heartbeat to try the wings and pizza, both of which looked excellent when delivered to neighboring tables.
