This is truly a nerd bar and I am so here for it! The service was fantastic and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We sat at the bar and the overall vibe was very relaxed and welcoming. I see why this is a neighborhood favorite. We split the grilled chicken sandwich and they cut it for us which was very nice. Highly recommend!

Shoutout to my bestie Marc for taking us here! Dropped by last night after work for some food, drinks, and overall good company. Lots of street parking! Walked in and to our table all the way in the back that our friends had already reserved. It wasn't too busy when we got there around 6 but it surely picked up quick and soon it was a full house. The decor is super cute!! Got that video game theme vibe all around and they also have an outdoor patio that can be reserved for larger parties and events! You order everything up at the bar and they will bring it to your table. I went for the smash burger and their house chips, fantastic combo. The chips are AMAZING. Super crispy, perfectly salted, and could eat it all night. The burger was perfectly cooked but definitely heavy! I was halfway and had to give the rest to my friend lol. The drinks are great, not too strong and fun with the video game theme! I wasn't in the mood to drink so I got the Heart Container mocktail which was perfect! Love anything with coconut cream. I also tried a bit of the Pumpkaboo cocktail and for someone who doesn't like bourbon, this was fantastic. Perfect fall cocktail and will definitely be getting it again next time. Staff are very friendly, shoutout to Mia for taking care of us! We played DnD: Dungeon Mayhem and it is our new fav lol. The garlic fries, sweet potato tots, and house chips were definitely my faves. Great spot overall with plenty of seating, tons of games to choose from, and lots of TV's that stream a variety of Twitch streamers (can even request). Looking forward to coming back more often! I don't normally write my reviews until after I've left, but today I'm writing as I eat and drink. GuildHall, OMG!? I found this place on Yelp because I needed a place to come hang out before my flight out of Burbank. I'm going to cut to the chase, The service is Impeccable!! Now on to the only thing that really matters... Their Crunchy Chicken Strip served with Buffalo sauce and their own homemade Ranch dressing.... my eyes rolled back, seriously, they did. WOW!! If you don't come here, you're pretty much telling yourself that you don't deserve Great cocktails and Crunchy Chicken Strips!! I've never had a better strip..... NEVER!! Great job guys!! I told the bartender I was still contemplating ordering another round of Strips and he went back into the kitchen and grabbed me a fresh out of the frier, chicken strip, just to entice me. I don't foresee a future where I don't come back over and over again. Collin & Max THANK YOU!! I'LL BE BACK!

Guild Hall is a great nerd spot in Burbank. Great drinks, great beer selection and great food. Walls have classic video game art out back in the covered outdoor seating area. Bar service is always fast and attentive. Food service can be a little on the slow side. Street parking across the street. Use the crosswalk to get over and don't attempt Frogger as it's a busy street.

For gamers, board game aficionados, and casual guests alike, Guildhall is as much of a great gastropub as it is a very welcoming space for those who like a bit of geekiness with their nights out. As someone who loves video games, it was awesome to see streamers being broadcast on the gastropub's televisions and images of Smash Bros. characters adorn the outside patio area. As a "Legend of Zelda" fan, I geeked out at a replica Master Sword being hung by one of the larger TVs and I definitely treated myself to a "Heart Container" mocktail which was a pleasant, sweet blend of coconut cream, lemon, and pineapple juice. Other than having a great selection of board games, Guildhall provides enough table space to play those games as well as other forms of games. I love how inviting Guildhall was in the sense that it's built to encourage people to sit down, stay, and have some fun with friends. It also helps the food here is pretty good as well as I thought the sweet potato tater tots were some of the best I've ever had...and the garlic fries were pretty darn good as well! Overall, it's really nice to be at a place where a big, diverse crowd of people are coming to have wholesome fun with their friends. Seldom have I gone to any drinking or eating establishment and felt so many positive vibes. Consider me a customer for life!

bartenders 10/10, food ! 10/10 service 10/10 ! the drinks oh man let me tell youuu !! 100/100. thank you order the smash burger !!, great place to be woth friends !!

Pretty cool premise having a full bar/ food menu while having a space to play a variety of different board games that aren't just monopoly. I got the Chareau-Dinger's Cat cocktail which was very fresh and delicious as well as a side of fries and their brussel sprouts. Everything tastes great especially the sprouts. The inside is on the smaller side so if it's winter being outside can get a little chilly if you don't get next to a space heater. Only thing keeping this from a full 5 stars would be how small the cocktails are for the price point, not really a fan of that. (note: the picture I posted is not the full drink as I'd already had a couple sips before taking it)

From the moment I entered Guild Hall, I was blown away by the hospitality of the staff and vibrant atmosphere. I was impressed by the full bar and themed monthly specials. As for the food, the smash burger was a win paired with their mixed green side salad with citronette. Tater tots and garlic fries were good sizes to share with the table. The menu is inclusive of vegetarian and vegan options. I had a great time playing Labyrinth with my friends and I can see many more fun game nights at Guild Hall. For parking, we found residential street parking without any trouble which is always a plus.

    Ask the Community - GuildHall

    Do they take reservations?

They do not. It's first come, first served, and once the tables are full, they don't have more available.

Do you allow underage people if they are accompanied by somebody 21+?

Unfortunately the Burbank location is strictly 21+ however the Whittier location is all ages.

Would you guys host a Dungeons and Dragons game? I'm a dungeon master in the SFV and would love to run a game in an actual bar.

Absolutely! We don't organize any events however if you want to bring your group and play at the bar that is more than welcome.

How do people get a table here? Every time i come its packed and no available seats and theres no host or hostess to talk to so I wait around for a bit and just then leave lol

What time does the kitchen close?

    9:30 Sunday-Thursday and 10:30 Friday & Saturday

Are the posted operating hours up to date?

Yes, the posted hours are up to date. We will do our best to update this page, our website, and google if and when our hours expand.

What time do you open on Saturday?

    5 pm

    Are people under 21 allowed?

Guildhall in Burbank is 21+ all of the time with the rare exception of some special events.

What time should I arrive on a Friday night so I'm able to quickly get a table?

7ish any later and tables are taken or go after 10

What board/card games do they have?

All of them lol no where near as many as GameHaus in Glendale but cards against humanity, clue, life, most of the classics... Big selection that takes up a whole wall to the left of the bar.

Is there a happy hour? If so, what are the times and specials. Thanks!

No Happy Hour, but they have delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices... and don't forget the fun and unique atmosphere available every hour! ?

    (1) Is there a time limit to play games whilst drinking and eating? (2) Is Magic the Gathering TCG available and/or can we bring our own decks?

    1) You can play as long as you like. I think they would prefer if you continue to order drinks or food while you play, especially if they are busy. 2) You can bring your own… Read more

The people who work here: all kind and helpful and on top of their stuff. This place gets really packed sometimes but even in the chaos, when customers are rude and drunk and break things they keep their cool, always. But don't treat them poorly. I will come for you. Chard is the GM and he is one of the kindest and most generous humans I have had the pleasure of know and is the mastermind behind getting the themed nights up and going. His ability to make a person feel welcome is pretty much unmatched in my opinion. The food: omg you guys the FOOD!!!! It's so good. They just changed the menu so I haven't gotten to try everything yet but the chicken dumplings are delicious. A bit of a kick but the best kind. The chili cheese fries that my friend had were also so good. Perfect cheese to chili ratio with the fries. There is a chef in the back who is passionate about food and making sure it tastes perfect so I trust everything is good. But if you are unsure ask the servers or bartenders. They won't steer you wrong. The drinks: admittedly, I mostly drink just screwball on the rocks. However every mixed cocktail I have had here has been perfection. Mark is the manager and he could be a mixologist, should be a mixologist, super nice guy who is shockingly good and remembering peoples drink preferences. Like a year ago was the last time I ordered cider and he remembered! The vibe: I wouldn't really call this place a dive bar, but it's sort of got a hint of dive bar going on. The back patio is really nice during the summer but sitting inside the barrel is fun too. The bulldog is kinda small so you won't fit a ton of people in there but it's still fun. Lots of places to sit although sometimes it does get packed and it's standing room only. Not to mention, they allow dogs!!! This is a great place to come with a first date. It's good for dressing up a little but not too much and there are some corners you can sit in so you can have a little closeness. But the staff will also keep an eye out for you. If you are feeling uncomfortable in any way, they will keep an eye out for you and help you out. There isn't a designated dance floor but they won't be mad if you dance in the area that you've got available to you. Just don't accidentally knock anything over or hit anybody. The music: Chard is usually in charge of the play list but even when he isn't the music is usually pretty great and there's a band that comes and plays on Sundays for a while in the afternoon/evening. I have found some of my new favorite music because of this place. Drag brunch: I've never actually attended because I've heard it gets a little crazy and that can be a little scary overwhelming for me, but they do it everyday Saturday and Sunday and that's been going strong for a pretty long time so I have to assume it's a good time. The themed events: this is the kind of crazy I can handle though. They have done lots of the rings, zelda anniversary, a Star Wars themed singles event for Valentine's Day, a scholastic book fair, and Easter egg hunt, their Halloween and New Year's Eve events were AMAZING, I could go on and on. People turn up for these events and they are just some of the most fun especially with the costumes you will see. Go to Idle Hour. I've never loved a bar before. This place is something else. I promise you won't be disappointed, unless you're one of those kinds of people who finds something wrong no matter how amazing the place is or you're kind of an entitled jerk.

It's a restaurant with an overall speakeasy vibe BUT is not dark and foreboding. Rather, its high ceilings, well spaced out tables, and appropriately lit dining/bar space has a welcoming, cool vibe! And the music to fill the space before the live music was well, my kinda music - vibey 80s/90s hip hop. On top of that, the STAFF - the folks we met on a Monday (senior citizen hour) night were incredibly kind and attentive. We did stay through the first set of musicians that performed and it was great. Loud, but not loud enough that me and my friend couldn't still talk. Now onto the food. A nice surprise, considering this is a music joint! That bread was solid. The side portions decent - mushrooms and broccoli were fine. The steak was a generous size, cooked appropriately medium rare, and came with a unique side of bone marrow salsa. That was a nice, interesting touch. Was it the BEST food I've ever had? Not exactly, BUT it was the best food as part of a music joint, in the Valley. So the 5 star rating is really for the OVERALL experience.

**TL;DR: Great food, but terrible seating layout and "VIP" policy ruins the experience**…read more We booked a reservation well in advance and explicitly selected the main dining room, looking forward to the live music experience Verse is known for. Instead, we were placed to the right of the stage in a row of three 2-person tables (which they still consider the "main dining room"). For a venue centered around a performance, this layout makes zero sense: You only see the backs and profiles of the band, and the tables are positioned so that one person literally has their back to the stage the entire night. It felt like a second-class experience that completely missed the mark on value. Seeing three empty tables with proper views, we asked the hostess if we could move. We were told no because they were "completely booked and reserved for VIPs." Some time later, a manager came by to say that one of the VIPs hadn't showed up so a table was now available (the VIP by the way was an off-duty worker there). We didn't end up moving; the whole interaction left us with really mixed, sour feelings. It's incredibly frustrating to know regular paying customers who book ahead are treated as second-tier while prime tables sit empty for no-show "VIPs." Valet is $15 by the way. Due to the subpar experience and being stuck in a corner, I just couldn't in good conscience order the way I typically do, which usually includes multiple appetizers, several pasta and main dishes, dessert, and a great bottle of wine or champagne. Instead, we heavily scaled back our meal. As for what we did try, the kitchen has real highlights but a few misses. We started with the Peruvian scallops (5 to an order), served cold, ceviche-style, which had good flavor. For mains, the lobster tagliatelle was excellent. However, the mushroom linguini fell short; the pasta was far too tough and needed a couple more minutes of cooking, and it was oversaturated with a mornay sauce that completely overpowered the dish. To drink, the rosé was crisp and fresh. Overall, while some of the food is excellent, the poor floor layout and frustrating seating policies made this an extremely disappointing experience that wasn't worth the premium price.

They brought out a Swiss Miss packet, and made passive aggressive comments about how they were going above and beyond for her and they should charge her double (she's not a picky person so for her to complain you know it's bad) - we only found three games in the place but they were small plastic things like flick the ball into the hoop with all pieces out of the boxes and laying randomly under a tv tray behind a bar table - the food wasn't very good - the waiter didn't remember he needed my payment for the two hours I was there - the menu was basically non existent because their fryer was down and so they couldn't offer most items - it was dark and hard to see anything - the owner and her relative took over our hangout for around 30-40 min, asking us to bring in our "actor friends" and help them get more business.

They…read morehave a tiki marketplace several times a year, and this one was held on a Sunday afternoon from noon to 6pm. It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.

Tonga hut is my favorite local tiki bar, but it is such a hit or miss when I go!…read more On a weekend, you could easily walk in with no problem or be hit with a one-hour wait. Sometimes they have servers, other times you order at the bar. The last time I went, there was a long line as only one bartender was making drinks, yikes! Despite that, the drinks are solid, reasonably priced, and strong! They have a variety of drinks and nightly specials. Each bartender also has their own "secret menu" specials that only they can make. The decor is very on theme, and they have a fire pit and heaters outside for when it is chilly.

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!
