    Sunset on Lake Michigan

The Inn is a delightful place to relax, kick back, and enjoy. The warm hospitality by Bill, the owner, and his staff make you feel right at home. The individual rooms are nicely furnished with period pieces and set with antique heaters. Take a few minutes and explore the Great Room when you get the opportunity. It is filled with interesting pictures and even has a book showing the total renovation of the Inn. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruits, muffins, sausages, a poached egg on avocado toast and potatoes. The Inn itself is only a stone's throw from the lake and the sunset is absolutely gorgeous. You will not be disappointed!

We had a lovely two night stay at the Inn at Union Pier! An older Inn esablished in the 1940s has a rich Has expanded and offers cottages and rooms on a beautifully garden area just steps away from a public beach on Lake Michigan. This place has tremendous character, with a warm and engaging staff! They offer bikes and chairs and umbrellas for the beach for guests, happy hour with wine & snacks a delicious breakfast that accommodated our vegan eating lifestyle!

An antique Swiss chimney of the type the owners put in the lobby and each room of the Inn

The staff was consistently helpful, friendly and anxious to be accomodating from the very first moment we arrived. The lobby and our Larkspur room were both beautiful, and the location is very close to a lovely beach. Also close to a nice shop where you can get a cappuccino, sandwiches for lunch, etc. The Inn's offering of towels, an umbrella and beach chairs was a cut above what some other places offer. Our caveats that would make this a 4.5 star (which Yelp didn't offer) was that the breakfast was so-so (commercial muffins, juice and fruit), perhaps because we were there after Labor Day. Pillows in the room had also seen better days. But those were quibbles. This was a memorable and enjoyable romantic getaway, and we would return.

Very cute inn. Stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. Loved: - Two hour tastings of bottles from local wineries every evening - Free use of beach cruiser bicycles - Proximity to the beach (200 steps!) - Tranquil lawn with hammock, benches, and chairs - Menus from the local restaurants stored in the Great Room - Outdoor jacuzzi - Towels provided for the shower & for the jacuzzi - Well-portioned and tasty breakfast served at individual tables - Sweet innkeepers - Cozy, reasonably priced rooms Know Beforehand: - No fridge in room, but you can put your stuff in the main house's kitchen fridge - No TV in the guest rooms. See TV in the dining room or at one of the local bars/restaurants. Bring your laptop to watch DVDs.

Location is everything on a trip and this Inn is perfectly close to all the action. Walking distance to the beach (though I went in the winter), walking distance to some eateries, and a short drive to the wine vineyards. But that is not the only thing that makes this Inn perfect for a getaway. The seclusion, lack of noise, friendly (but not intrusive) staff, free homemade cookies, quaint (no tv) rooms, wine tastings, Swedish fireplace in the room, and list goes on and on. I think it might be a little pricey but if you find a deal go for it.

Totally relaxing. Nice decor, beautiful gardens and just a short walk to the beach of Lake Michigan. Plan on 3 days if possible to just rest and recharge. Great deli / grocery store a short walk away. Also their breakfast are superb. Also within a short walk is the Red Arrow Road House Restaurant. Excellent place for dinner opens at 5 PM. Also this bed and breakfast offers free wine and popcorn at 5 PM for their guest. If I had the time I would stay another night.

Once again, we loved our stay. Twice this year we visited the Inn, and we are now regulars having been here well over 6 times. It is the perfect place to turn down and unwind. We love the area, the staff are always accommodating and friendly, even noticing my husband's health issues had improved. It is quiet and just downright nice.

Main room fireplace. Enjoy some wine and popcorn while listening to some relaxing music.

Nothing better than a weekend in Union Pier at the Inn of Union Pier! No stress or worries, just plenty of laughter and relaxation. The Inn is perfect and the Innkeepers take care of everything. I appreciate all of their attention to detail to make it a perfect stay. We have been coming here for about 20 years and we'll keep coming back!

Coffee and orange juice are abundant. My room was a birch room and was very spacious since I was the only guest. It contains a separate bath off the bedroom which made it an en-suite. The tv worked and there was a small fireplace in the room which emitted heat if you needed it. The design of the shower did not suit the bathroom because it needed to be deeper. Too much water escapes and gets on the floor. The blinds and microwave need cleaning - desperately. Hopefully, that will get done. Sleeping at night was great because it was very quiet. Overall, a great stay at the inn. That part-time housekeeper needs to get hired to make it excellent!!!

You get extra privacy with the separate entrance and building, as opposed to other B&Bs where you're in a central house. Bill's and the other cabin are totally free standing, the other units are all one long building with separate outdoor entrances. The main lobby/ house area is a few steps away and where breakfast is served as well as where you can grab soda or bottled water at any hour. There's also a lot of local brochures and an awesome DVD collection. We stayed over the rainiest weekend of all time. The cabin was cozy and we certainly enjoyed that amazing DVD collection- something for everyone. There is wifi which seemed a tad slow, but given the location and weather I was not surprised by that. The cabin stayed toasty even though we didn't turn up the thermostat or light the wood stove. The hot tub was quite nice for an evening when it finally stopped raining for an hour. Bill's Cabin is totally adorable in its rustic décor, and we absolutely loved the cat theme too! We were also told the cabins are pet friendly. Breakfast in the morning is great- pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit (HUGE honey crisp apples!!), juice, coffee. Great company with other guests and the owner, AJ. When we arrived the first night (around 8pm due to crazy weather), AJ was waiting and ready to give us a little tour. He even directed us to some local restaurants that would still be serving dinner. Location is a short drive to all the tourist locations and just a couple blocks from the lake. While I'm usually very frugal, I felt White Rabbit Inn was well worth the expense and we plan to come back for our first anniversary.

Andy & Nita are fantastic hosts. We arrived and were greeted by Andy who quickly showed us to his version of "afternoon tea" which was wine and freshly baked cookies. Oh.my.God. They were delicious! We were given a tour of the property, along with some history. Andy took his time in explaining a map of the city and giving his recommendations for things to do and restaurants. This was such a nice and personal touch. We stayed in the Michigan Room. It was so warm and cozy. We felt right at home. This B&B is the perfect blend of modern and vintage. It definitely had the original charm of the home. But, it also has great modern conveniences such as an Apple TV, USB wall chargers and a pretty amazing shower. Entrance to the house, and your room, is by a personal code. Again, super cool:) There are towels aplenty and the bath robes are made from the worlds softest material. The house is located on a very quiet street which makes relaxing so easy. Do yourself a favor and take a walk around the neighborhood. The charm in the surrounding houses sends you back in time. It's a short 5 minute walk to downtown or to the beach. Breakfasts were amazing! On day 1, we had homemade stuffed cinnamon swirl french toast, fruit and yogurt parfait, an egg souffle and organic sausage. Day 2 was homemade cinnamon rolls, bacon and a caramelized apple, pecan and brie omelette. Whenever Andy wants to cook for you, just say yes because it's going to be heavenly! It was so nice sitting with Andy and the other couple for some fun and informative conversation. Overall, the personal touches are what set this B&B above and beyond any experience we've previously had. Thank you, Andy & Nita!
