Often this type of accommodation is hard to find and in this case, location and amenities cost a little be more. And it was certainly well worth it. CONS - None! +/- - There is currently no breakfast service, although judging by what looked like an unused cafe room (near the pool), there might have been pre-COVID. However, there's lots of breakfast choices nearby. - WiFi works better outside. - As our cottage backed up on St. Louis street, we did hear some noise in the evening and morning. - Our Cottage #5 shares a wall with #6 and at the time our neighbors were a young couple who by the sounds of it were having some great sex. A Dinner and a Show! PROS - Beautiful property and a quiet oasis within the French Quarter where nearly everything was a short walk. - Impeccable outdoor area including wading pool and a huge patio outside our Cottage. A big bonus was the great weather we experience why we were here. - 2 very comfortable beds, nice bathroom/shower, and good temperature control. - Wonderful common living room, with a comfy sitting, and frequently replenished coffee, water, and soft drinks. - Pleasant and hardworking housekeeping staff. - Attentive check-in and check-out support from Sean. My room was clean and comfortable and had a lovely character. I stayed right at the end of March and checked out just prior to the start of Mardi Gras weekend. I had booked last minute and so I had a delay in checking in when I arrived to find the front office closed. A quick call to the number listed connected me with Gary, who is very kind and accommodating (and who I was grateful to have additional conversation with before my state was over). Gary explains that they were short-staffed and it would take a few minutes for him to walk from one of their other properties. As the location was safe and well lit, I had no problem taking a seat and enjoying the sounds of the French Quarter while I waited. Check-in was quick and I was excited to find that my room was just off the street -- literally my doors and windows were inches from the sidewalk. Now I know what you're thinking, that sounds like it could be loud with walking tours, roaming the streets at night and tourists walking after an evening of libations. In truth, I hired plenty of conversations pass by the front of my room, but they almost all ended before it got too late, and I had really fantastic sleep in my very comfy bed. If you are a very light sleeper, then I genuinely believe that the room I stayed in would not at all be for you, but I really enjoyed it as someone who doesn't mind a little bit of City sounds to lull me to sleep. The room had plenty of other basic amenities and the bathroom was bright and spacious. I even enjoyed a bath a couple of nights in a row! The price was very fair, the location was excellent, the historical character was great, and it even looked like there was a food delivery/room service option available that I did not take advantage of. If I could give this place any critique, it would be that I would have loved to have had a little mini fridge to store leftovers and save a few bucks on food. Otherwise my stay was perfect!

I have taken short trips for the weekend and even stayed as long as a week. Over our visits we have stayed in all 3 suites and they are all fantastic!!! Matt is amazing and having the owners on site is always a huge plus in my book. From the moment we checked in we felt like we were old friends and coming back home. Since my first stay in 2011 I have returned numerous times. I relocated to New Orleans in 2013 and the worst part about living here is not being able to stay at The Bearigny. But I do send my visiting friends and family to the Bearigny and I've even done a staycation or two. Can not wait for my next visit!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

During our stay there was a movie crew on Rampart street filming Jamie Fox for the show "Power" which was pretty cool. As for The Marigny Suite, it was really well laid out, well maintained and exactly as advertised. The owner, Matt was really great and personable. He was very helpful with suggestions on places to go and eat. I would definitely rent from him again when we get a chance to go back.

It's also very close to the jazz bars on Frenchmen Street, so if you're over the Bourbon St. scene, it's in a great location. Also very close to Jackson Sq. and the French Market. Walkable to anywhere in the quarter. Whenever we received turndown service, everything looked so nice. The room was very clean, spacious, the bed was comfortable and I think it was a good value. Everyone we spoke to at the front desk was also very kind and helpful. The pool is also a huge plus! I would definitely stay at Le Richelieu again and recommend it to anyone traveling to New Orleans.

Shoutout to Hunter for being so helpful with bringing our bags to our rooms and helping as we were leaving too! Also, shoutout to Chris and the rest of the front desk staff for being absolutely wonderful. We arrived well before normal check in time, and they had our rooms ready within a half hour. I also lost my room card at one point and realized while we were out and about. I called Chris at the front desk and he immediately reassured me and cancelled my room keys in case they were found and gave me new ones upon returning!! The pool was also super lovely, private, and the perfect temperature. My room was cozy and the housekeeping team did a great job at tidying up & restocking my towels every day! Great proximity to many attractions while not being on top of things. Would stay here again on my next visit! :)

We were initially told that there was no one on site so any information could be relayed through either the phone number or a call system at the front door or at the desk. They definitely have it set up pretty well for this remote communication. I guess they really need to be saving money and labor these days since they manage a few different other properties. We were given the digital key to check in the day we arrived in new orleans. We're actually able to check in early as well which was super nice. The digital key worked pretty fine after we download the app. Overall the room was very nice and cutely decorated. It was a bit small but this is prime real estate here. The bathroom is also very updated and had everything we need! Some peeling paint on the shower and some pretty bad dust on top of the wardrobe but other than that everything was pretty clean. The coffee bar downstairs was always stocked and I had to get a hold of people a couple times and it was very easy to do so through text message. There's a nice little courtyard on the first floor with good sitting although it is next to a very loud air conditioner. I definitely would return here but I'm also curious how the other properties are as well. You are really close to most of what's going on in the French quarter. Bourbon Street is just a few blocks away. Although you are less than a block from rampart Street which is the Western end of the French quarter. But there's plenty of local buses to catch here to get down to the garden district which I would definitely recommend the buses over the streetcar since they are air conditioned. The local transit app was also super easy to use! Looking forward to coming back someday!

Amenities are slim except a good bar and coffee or tea in the AM. Our 2-night stay was quiet and enjoyable. So if you want to avoid the hectic French Quarter or CBD for lodging, consider this. As to many parts of NOLA - even the Quarter - keep your wits about you as crime is often random.

Staff also gave good recommendation on a bus tour of the town that was entertaining and really informative. Could not recommend this place enough. Only drawback I saw - as a boutique hotel in a historic home, it has limited ability to accomodate the disabled so contact them before reserving if you or a family member has a severe impairment. I walk with a cane and had no issues.
