This place was on our trail for the Laurel highland pour tour. This place says it's in new Kensington but felt more like lower Burrell. The place has lots of parking, cute little place inside. They have a great setup inside with many beers to choose from. They also have cider and wine from local areas. I loved the atmosphere at this brewery. I loved the beer. Had the west coat and hazy IPA, wife had apple beer. The bartenders were super friendly and nice. Prices are reasonable. They have a decent food menu as well. We had the Buffalo chicken pizza which amazing. Such a great find due to Laurel highlands pour tour that we would have never went to and happy we did can't wait to attend.

Cool place... definitely a cool hotspot in Lower Burrell. ** Kitchen is not open yet - no food served (as of February). We inquired about food and were told they are working on it. We loved the décor.. modern .. cool bar top.. solid wood looks custom made. The prices I must say were very reasonable!! IPA's etc.. $4.75 a glass for most.. pretty awesome!!! The establishment is so clean and plenty of parking available. We will be returning to sample the food and will update the review again. Thanks Conny Creek.. looknig forward to returning.

Macaroni and cheese. Was hoping for homemade.

Three of us went on a Saturday night and the girl playing piano, trumpet, and singing was really good! I appreciated that she was singing more jazz music because I really love it! The beer was good and plentiful and the atmosphere was really fun. However. i'm sad to say that I was pretty disappointed with the food. We tried cheesesteak eggrolls and they were pretty small and hardly any filling. I was very excited to get a Ruben since it was around St. Patrick's Day but unfortunately it was made with lunch meat cuts of corned beef and not the real thing. The macaroni and cheese also did not taste very good and I could tell it wasn't homemade. There was nothing inherently "bad" about the food, but it just didn't meet my expectations. I would definitely come back for a beer and for some more jazz music but unfortunately not for the food.

When searching the menu, I noticed that if you sign up for the mailings, you get a $2 pint - customer win #1..... We got there and the bartender was super friendly, letting us grab some samples, all of which seemed pretty good. I ended up getting the hazy NEIPA, which was stellar, minimal bitterness. Also had a pint of the strawberry cheesecake sour, which I guess is popular. It was very good, but a bit too sweet/sour for a full pint. Great selection of beer, upper tier brewery in greater Pittsburgh, stellar prices and I'll be baaaaaack. There was a band playing on the patio, not my thing, a "suburban barbeque joint / sauce rockabilly" typa group....but it's fine. View was great on the patio, river was calm, allowing us to enjoy the saucy rock while the sun went down. See y'all again, saucy rock or not.

The vibe is cute they have a board game corner and doggy accessories for sale too. Dogs are allowed on the patio but not inside. It was a little chilly for the patio but I took a look around. I'm participating in the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour and this location is new this year…read more I went in not really knowing anything about it, so I had a great conversation with the bartender about the history of Strange Roots, where they brew their beer (and where the production had moved from) and the difference between their locations. They lived up to the "experimental" name because they really had some unique brews. I sampled a few and was torn between the PB&J and the Koel Aid. I ended up with the Koel Aid because it was so incredibly different than anything I had ever tried before. It very much smelled like grape juice (or very fruity wine) but was very distinctly beer. It was such a weird (but tasty) drink. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up bringing a six pack home. I didn't order any food, but they had a lot of tasty sounding pizzas that people kept coming in for take out orders for. I definitely want to go back and try their pizza and some additional beers. Of note is that it is family friendly. There were two families when I was there and the bartender said they have sponsored youth organizations and teams in the past and had their celebrations at their location.

The service was also fantastic, the bartender Riley was so friendly and gave good suggestions and let me sample a few before I decided. I went with her suggestion and had the Koolade sour beer. The place smelled delicious as soon as we walked in! We all had different variations of the honey pie (which we loved), I tried the arugula salad and it was nice, others at our table had the garlic knots & the cheesesteak and they said they were wonderful. Definitely would recommend & return.
