I did the cold weather pick me up once with Maddie back on 2/9 and once with Katie on 3/10. This is such a great deal! I first wanted to try it out to see if I liked it the tinted brows and lashes along with the facial. Both times the facial was first and was amazing and just overall peaceful and relaxing with subtle music that really puts you to sleep. Maddie did an amazing job! It got me hooked. This definitely is a service for the girls that might not do a full face of makeup but want to give their brows a fuller look. Love the tinted lashes too, I didn't have to put mascara on at all(granted I'm not a heavy makeup wearer). The tinted lashes last about 4 weeks and the brows last 6 weeks from what I was told and was also told to avoid oil base cleansers and makeup removers as that speed the process up. Because I liked it so much I booked the service again this time with Katie right before my trip to Mexico. Again she did a phenomenal job! I won't get it often but when I have a special occasion or just want to pamper myself this is a great option. read more

This place continues to get worse and I won't be coming here any longer after my latest visit. The owner continues to hire lackadaisical employees. It truly used to be a great place years ago. I had a gift card so I decided to try something different, a CBD facial. As shown in the photo I attached which is straight from their website, I booked the 60min CBD infused facial for $120. I was not impressed with the facial as a whole and it only lasted 30min. The esthetician was clumsy, unprofessional, and literally did the bare minimum during this 30min. She plopped two different things on my face, removed some black heads and then just sat behind me awkwardly while the creams were left on my skin prior to removing. My skin looked worse the next day when I was told how amazing it would look! When I went to checkout the employee tried charging me the full $120. When I questioned the price as the website stated that price is for a 60min facial, she tried telling me I was wrong and was getting irritated. This is a converted house with tons of different spa/cosmetic services like lashes, microblading, hair, makeup, facials, nails and more. I went upstairs to a private room to get eyelash extensions. I got my lashes done with "Lashes by Jessica Pitoniak" but they do have others in the same space that do lashes. Jessica has been in the lash business for well over 6 years (the length of time I am unsure but I know she has done exclusively lashes for 6 years and prior to that she did lashes and other services). She's located upstairs in a converted house that specializes in beauty/spa services. I found her through Groupon. I've only ever gotten lash extensions once for my wedding back in August. At the time, I had no idea what lashes were supposed to feel like. I had nothing to compare it to and therefore thought my first experience was nice. However, after going to Jessica, I realize that my first lash experience at the other salon was immensely subpar. With Jessica, I do not feel my lash extensions one bit. I feel 100% naked and natural. It doesn't hit my eyelid area and it is so natural looking. With the other place, I could feel that I was wearing eyelash extensions and you could visually see it. With Jessica's, the false extensions blend seamlessly with my natural ones and you cannot tell one from the other. With the previous service I got, there were 3 lashes clumped into one piece and the density of the lash were thicker and different looking than my natural ones so you could see the sparse areas where my natural lashes were and the clumped areas where the falsies were. In pictures, it looked fine but up close you could see the difference. With Jessica's, it is so extremely natural and comfortable. It gives me the boost I want without looking like I tried too much or overdid it with makeup. I didn't want to show up to work one day and have people look at me like "whoa! lashes." Jessica didn't need much explanation to understand what I was going for. She worked very professionally and the process took 1.5 hours. She asked me if I wanted the look of eyelashes with mascara (natural looking) and I said yes. I got exactly that! She chose the shortest false lashes she had, which were a little longer than my own. My husband and I have both been seeing Julie for hair for about 5 years now. I also see Haley for gel manicures every 2 weeks. I cannot say enough good about both of them. Julie is super friendly and professional, she listens to what you want but also isn't afraid to tell you if something might not be in your best interest. Haley's manicures last for weeks, are well done and she's not afraid to be creative. My nails look better, and are stronger than they have been in years. Highly recommend both. I was also seeing Tanya for waxing, have been for about 3 years but she recently left. Innovations loss for sure! Tanya was (is, as I've followed her to her new place) amazing and makes you feel at home and like a friend. Seem Innovations doesn't really know how to value a good thing when they have it. The salon itself is nice, they're updating the look. It's too bad they took the nice waiting area away to add more chairs because it's far less welcoming now. The front desk staff is sometimes a little curt, and not the most welcoming, they seem to prefer to play on their phones than help. I can't actually count the amount of times I've been told I'm "all set" for my appointment, but was never actually checked in. My recommendation: make sure your stylist knows you've arrived because I've seen it happen to someone else and they had to reschedule their appointment after sitting so long. The owner actually acted like it was this poor customers fault. It's been a few years since I've had a massage there so I can't speak on that, and I had a spray tan once. This is probably the worst and most unprofessional salon I have ever been to. They are overpriced, yet their service is subpar. I went here to get my hair and make-up done for my graduation. WORST MISTAKE EVER. First my hair apt with Kaitlin was supposed to start at 1 PM, she was running late, and started me at 1:30. I wanted a simple blow out with curls. She told me they do not wash hair for this, I have gotten my hair done many times and have never heard of such a thing. I asked her to please wash my hair, and they said that would be an extra cost and the hairdresser was like, I have my next apt in 15 mins... when she is the one starting me 30 mins late in the 1st place. She then washes my hair, does the entire job in less than 20 mins. Then goes on to charge me $70 for this. My hair was OK (def not worth 70 bucks), and I had to redo my curls by the time I got home. Now lets talk about the make-up, done by Roe. I have gotten professional make up many times. This was by far the worst. I wanted to get my make up done to look prettier, but this lady made me look 10x uglier. I had random lines of highlight and blush on my cheeks, which was not blended at all. I asked for a winged liner, which she certainly did not do. My lips looked blue like I had hypothermia. The eyeliner was crooked. The lashes were way above my actual lash line, and were also falling off. I wiped it all off and did my own make up at home. BTW, the salon is extremely dim, so when I saw my face in the light, I was shocked. I called and complained about how dissatisfied I was, and that I was re-doing my make up at home. They apologized and stated I was going to get a refund. They took my card number and confirmed that they processed the refund and that it would show up on my statement in 1 business day. I thanked them. I get a phone call from them 30 mins later stating they do not give refunds for make up. When I told them that someone had just confirmed with me about the refund, they called me a liar. I asked to speak to the lady who I spoke to previously who had confirmed the refund, and they said she had left..... how rude and unprofessional! This is the WORST salon I have ever been to and will NEVER step foot in there again. read more

I booked services for 8 girls for my sisters baby shower. Manicures, pedicures, facials, etc. The facials were good but I definitely do not recommend getting a manicure or pedicure here. With both my manicure and pedicure there was nail polish left over from my previous mani/pedi. One girl in the group did not want her nails done that day, so I asked the front desk girl if I could get a refund for the manicure and she said yes and that the refund would be in my account soon. Time passes and no refund, so I call and the manager tells me they can't do a refund. The place seems a little disorganized but they seem nice enough. Also, their website states that they do dip gel, and I booked one of the girls for a dip gel, but the day of it was an issue because the girl that does dip gel "doesn't like doing it," so no dip gel was done. read more

The gift card and it's holder don't say anything about not being able to be used at Laser -whatever it's technically called ..... it just says Innovations services only, which I thought I was getting. I was told by the owner that the interruption I had in the middle of my facial due to lack of scheduling communication was not her staff so she couldn't do anything about it and it wasn't her responsibility. Another note, I had asked to pay ahead of time and they asked me to pay after. Had they let me pay ahead of time, I would have found out before the service that the gift card was not usable, and I would have left b/c I COULD NOT AFFORD the service without the gift card. When I explained this I was basically told, you should have read all of the website. My gift card was a birthday present and the facial was b/c I'd had a bad week. I went to innovations this week for a bridal consultation. Since my current hairdressers does not do wedding up-dos. I was recommended to try innovations but wanted to book a consultation before booking. My hairdresser was very knowledgable and shared my vision. Unfortunately my up-do wasn't the quality that I expect for my wedding. I give her credit for trying though. My makeup consult went great and the quality of work was excellent. The reason why I give innovations 1 star was because of the professionalism of staff. My hairdressers had a friend/not a staff member sitting in the chair next to me and they chatted most of the time. Also the girl at the counter came back to gossip with the girls in my room. They were making fun of a client and were speaking less than highly of her. It was repulsive to hear the things they were saying. i was very disappointed with the outcome of my hair. i went in august 2018 to get my hair bleached and dyed. i wanted a silver, ashy balayage and i had dark brown hair so i knew that wherever i went, they needed to be experienced and i knew it wasn't going to be easy or cheap, but the amount i was charged was nowhere near what they told me it was going to be. before i even booked my appointment, i called the salon and told them what i wanted, warned them my hair was very dark and that i wanted to go silver, and told them i knew it would take multiple sessions. when i asked how much it would be, they told me it would be around $140 + tip obviously. i was pleased with that answer so i booked the appointment. i'm not going to name the stylist because i feel like the cost is not so much their fault as much as it is the salon, but i was booked with a "senior stylist" and after my first appointment, my hair had hints of silver and light brown. when i went to pay it was $240 + tip. i was very disappointed, but i sucked it up because i understood that this is a salon and salons aren't cheap, and i thought it wasn't fair to judge the price based off of what someone told me on the phone who hadn't seen my hair. to make sure i knew what i was getting myself into, i asked the stylist themselves how much my next appointment would be and they said $140 at the most. i was fine with that. when i came in for my second appointment, my hair did not come out silver, it came out more of a blonde, caramel. it didn't look bad, but it definitely wasn't what i wanted. the hair stylist even said to me at the end "when i was rinsing you out in the sink, your hair was like white, and i thought it looked bad so i added some caramel." now, this upset me because white is much closer to silver than blonde/caramel and i wish they would have shown me the "white" hair first and asked what i wanted to do with it rather than deciding for themselves. anyways, i went to pay and it was another $240!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING?? this is when i was really upset because i had asked the stylist THEMSELVES what the price would be the second round and they said $140. now you're probably wondering why i'm making this review now, almost 2 years later, instead of saying something when it happened. i was 17 years old, just graduated high school, and tbh i am scared of confrontation. this was one of the first "big girl things" i had done on my own and i didn't want to question any adults who knew what they were doing. not to mention, while the stylist was doing my hair, they were having a conversation with another stylist, complaining about a woman who came in and complained about pricing because "some customers just don't understand exactly what goes into hair". so OBVIOUSLY i'm not going to feel comfortable complaining about prices after hearing that. i was also in a rush to leave because i was heading to nyc with some friends and i was already making everyone late because of my appointment. i am not trying to discredit the stylist at all, they did a very good job... if i had wanted it blonde. the balayage and blending was very nice and they were very nice to me the entire time, i just have an issue with how everything was handled. needless to say i will not be coming back nor will i recommend this salon considering i paid $560 for something i didn't ask for. i have also added pictures of my hair before, after the first appointment, and the final result. read more

My mother and I treated ourselves to the Signature Bliss spa experience. It Includes a 30 minute massage, mani/pedi, and make-up. Innovations organized it very nicely. We had a short wait before the mani/pedis and they had an area set up to relax with snacks and water. Everyone was very professional and well organized. I had prior visits at Innovations where the conversation overheard was two hairdressers who were looking forward to their continuing education in their work (a good sign) so I took a huge risk based on past visits in thinking Innovation does some oversight on the practices of tenants. When my hair stunk too long after this visit and after more than one washing, I was reminded of the strange in-front-of-client conversation Lexi had with Aaron where she was talking about "the conditioner with the black cap" and Aaron said he "didn't like it because it was runny". I should have definitely asked about products used. To me, it's not worth carcinogens of relaxer (?????) (I did henna to LESSEN the "perm" type stench) or any other additives that a client should know about as a body & consent issue. I'm updating because I posted the review because I was thinking how Lexi would be perfect during Prom season and all the any-age- almost- wedding- but- can- be- more- last- minute- walk- in Innovations-type occasions, because of how she took time in cutting to check in with the client about the direction of the style. I still love the cut, and I could be wrong, but I feel obligated to post the warning to ask about what the hairdresser is using even at a shampoo. It's the client's body & those choices should be most valued and valued first. If the risk/ reward isn't a determination made by the client then it should be criminal regardless of the aesthetic outcome. read more

I've had a really hard time finding someone to cut my very thick curly lion mane hair in a flattering way, and John knows exactly how to work with my hair! I really don't think Ill ever trust anyone else. I absolutely recommend him to the girls out there with harder to manage hair! The salon is always beautifully decorated with many things to look at and the fresh coffee is also always great right when you walk in. I used to go to Innovations when I lived closer - AND because I had a special event going on I thought I'd make the hour trip there. I found a facial "harvest special" for 60 minutes. The girls equipment kept failing and then when she used a sheet mask something I'd use at home or even the facial steamer - I was like ummmmm.....then the kicker was at the counter while checking out when she asked me "how much did they tell you when you booked the appt", I said the price and she said well I usually charge this amount which was $30.00 more than I was quoted so I ended up giving he all the money in my hand. I felt like I did not walk away a winner or treated very special nor did I receive any special deal. Very disappointed in what used to be a classy operation that was totally unclassy. I went to the spa for a hydro facial. I will never be getting one here again. I been getting hydro facials for a little over two years so I know how my skin is suppose to feel after. My sister, her fiancé, and I got spray tans three days before my sisters wedding. I have never had a worse pray tan on such an important day. I am thoroughly disappointed in the quality of the tan. My hands are orange and all of my fingers are different colors. I was sprayed in a dimly lit room confined in a pop up spray tan tent. Results would be much better if the room was a little less restricted. I have had many many spray tans over the years and I would highly recommend against going to this salon. read more

I started coming to Innovations in March of last year after trusting my long locks to someone else. Never again. My first appointment with Cassie, I had specific instructions - long layers, angles in the front, short but not too short - I needed her to fix the disaster that was my hair. And Cassie did just that. I loved her style and she has my undivided loyalty. I've been back 3 or 4 times since then and every time I get out of her chair I'm a happy camper. So go to Innovations. Unfortunately the massage lasted only 45 after confirmation that i would receive the extra 30 minutes in this session. It was a struggle to get the front desk to sympathize with my frustration. I usually don't write a review. I want to tell people not to waste their money. I had a manicure and pedicure. My 5 year old granddaughter would have done a better job. I had to repaint my nails when I got home. My old nail polish was not removed completely and my cuticles were a mess. I had a massage also. There has never been a time when I didn't feel comfortable and doted upon. I had a signature facial with Katie and I have to say it was the worst by far I have ever had. She never examined my skin, asked about any sensitivities (which I have none but still). She never used the magnifying light to really look at my skin. It was supposed to be an hour facial she was done in 40 minutes at that point I just wanted to get out of there. There was no personalization, she never told me what she was doing or using it was like she was just going through the motions actually really never said a word to me. There was no shoulder massage or any sort of massage which I had really been looking forward to. Since the facial my skin around my mouth and nose and cheek bones have been dry, peeling , and very itchy. I have had facials in the past at other places and have always enjoyed them and had a great experience. I think I am now turned off of them for a while anyway after this one. I had a gift card which I still have money left on, threw it in my recycling bin as I am never going back again. I am actually kinda annoyed at myself for giving her tip. I would also like to say I have never given a review on Yelp before but I hope this helps someone not to have the same experience I did. read more
