I am writing in regard to the handling of a recent service issue at my property. The experience with Innovative Leak Detection has been marked by poor service, miscommunication, and a lack of accountability on multiple levels, resulting in unnecessary delays, repeated follow-ups, and double billing for a job that was not completed correctly on the initial visit. The issue began when the city notified us of an excessive water bill and identified a potential leak. In response, we contacted Innovative Leak Detection for assistance. The technician, (Brayden) was clearly unprepared and not properly equipped to complete the job. Brayden did not investigate the specific issue we reported and instead had us perform several checks ourselves. No resolution was provided, and Brayden left without identifying the source of the leak. After this unsatisfactory visit, I attempted to contact Lucy the office manager several times via voicemail and email, all of which went unanswered. When I finally spoke with Lucy, she questioned the city's findings and directed me to reach out to them again--despite the city already confirming there was a leak. At Lucy's insistence, the city returned to our property three additional times, including replacing the water meter. At her request, I also sent Lucy a video from the city supporting the presence of a leak, which was ignored. Additionally, during our conversation, Lucy requested that I repeat a series of checks on our toilets--checks we had already performed per previous instructions. Even after explaining this, Lucy insisted we do them again, which only delayed the process further. Eventually, after getting no further support, I contacted your office from a separate phone line and reached Coleman who was exceptional, professional, apologetic, and scheduled a follow-up visit right away. During that second visit, we pointed out the exact same issue we originally reported--and Coleman found the problem immediately. This clearly confirms that the issue was both detectable and should have been addressed during the first visit with Brayden. Despite the mishandling of the initial service and multiple follow-ups required due to Lucy and Braydens negligence, we were billed twice for a job that was not completed correctly the first time. To make matters worse, I specifically requested to speak with one of the two owners--Mark Dayley--and have yet to receive any return call or acknowledgment. This lack of response from leadership only compounds our frustration. To summarize: * Brayden was unprepared, did not check the reported issue, and left the problem unresolved. * Lucy dismissed the city's findings, ignored my communications, and failed to follow up appropriately. * The city was called out unnecessarily multiple times at Lucy's insistence. * A video confirming the issue was ignored. * Coleman was EXCEPTIONAL and ultimately resolved the problem we had originally identified. * We were billed twice for a service that should have been completed on the first visit. * A request to speak with owner Mark Dayley has gone unanswered. This experience has been completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We expect a full response to this complaint, an explanation of how this situation will be addressed internally, and a resolution regarding the double billing and lack of accountability. read more

showed up on time. technician seemed very competent. internal inspection revealed a leaky toilet. problem fixed. no need for a leak search. The whole thing took 15 minutes. the normal charge is $575. Would only reduce fee to $475. seem unfair and heavy handed. read more

Thanks to a letter from Portland Water Bureau (PWD) we were alerted about a water leak in our house. We had no idea how to find where the leak could be since it didn't seem to be anywhere inside the house. PWD employee refused to give me any direction on where to look for help. Only constantly repeated: "ask a friend". So I decided to ask Google and it found Innovative Leak Detection (ILD) for me. ILD responded to my request for help very promptly and found a leak outside the house near the foundation. They clearly marked the area where to dig. This company really specializes in finding water leaks and does not perform any actual repairs. When asked if they would recommend some specific plumbing service to call for the leak repair, they mentioned Kennedy Plumbing and Beaverton Plumbing. Unfortunately, both of these companies refused to repair our leak claiming that they didn't have the capacity. Also, both of these companies had only an average rating on Yelp (March 2022), so I had to find another plumber for the repair (Cornel's Plumbing). read more

Remember they make you pay whether they find your leak or not When I called to make an appointment they guy said they would be able to tell me if the leak was inside or outside and approximately where The technician came and used a gauge and said that the leak was inside the house not outside at the pump. Then he spent the next hour reviewing all the things I had already checked like the toilets- that wasted an hour of the 2 hour maximum time they spend He went into the crawl space and looked at 10% of it then he saw that it would be an effort to inspect the rest of it and so he just gave up and didn't do that. He walked back and forth the with his equipment outside the house listening for a leak that he had already said was inside. Later he changed his story and suggested it might be outside. At the end of 2 hours he couldn't confirm whether the leak was inside or outside the house. or whether it leaked a tenth of a gallon a minute or 10 gallons a minute but of course he was ready to take a credit card for $325 right away. I received no definitive information from him or his company about my problem. They are totally useless (they didn't offer any follow up recommendation) and don't promise anything not even a consistent report on what they can tell you read more

I had a leak in an underground sprinkler line that I couldn't locate--no schematic of lines or drain lines when we bought the house--and no wet spots in the yard, only water coming out a drain below a retaining wall. After digging in a number of "likely" places and finding nothing, I got Jake out. In about 30 minutes he found the leak (broken fitting) in a spot I would never have guessed. I dug right at the spot he designated, and the leak was within 6" of that spot. This service is not cheap, but my alternative was to install a new line, which would have been many times more expensive. Professional, confident, reliable service. Highly recommended. read more

I had a huge water leak just before Christmas (great timing of course). I live in the gorge, and the first company I called was going to charge me an additional $175 in travel fees and gas mileage. I was so happy that Innovative Leak told me they would come at no additional charge whatsoever and they could come that very afternoon. They were able to locate my leak and mark it so that we could begin digging and get the plumber out to fix the line. The leak was exactly where he had marked, though they say it could be within a 4 ft radius. I was so grateful for their fast, friendly and professional service during what was a very stressful time for me. I would definitely recommend them and they will be the only service I use, God forbid I have to deal with this mess again. read more

I had water filling my crawspace coming from under the garage slab. I called them and they had a personable guy named Jake out there a few hours later. After pressurizing the water system and probing for the sound of a leak he marked an area just outside of the garage for me to dig and I found and fixed the leak without ever needing a plumber. I never would have found the leak without them and I probably would have ended up cutting into my garage floor searching for the source. read more
