He seems to know how these pool systems work and had some valuable information to let me know how to maintain our pool. I contacted Lee on Monday, July 24, 2021 after I read the +/- 95% glowing reviews, particularly the ones about heater repairs (Thanks to the Yelp reviewers, both positive & negative reviews). Lee was quick to respond. We decided on Lee coming Tuesday afternoon, July 25, 2021, but come late afternoon no Lee so I reached out via Yelp, quick to respond but he had an urgent personal matter to attend to so we rescheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2021. That's life things come up unexpectedly, so you have to be flexible. Also, keep in mind I did not set some urgent pressing date/time re: heater repair. So it's now today, Wednesday, July 26, 2021... +/- 3PM & no Lee so I reach out via Yelp, quick response & informs me he will be here between 4PM - 6PM but most likely earlier. 6PM rolls around & still no Lee so I reach out again. At this point I'm a little irritated as there goes my whole day so I can understand the folks with the negative reviews. BUT I'm a reasonable person & I give people the benefit especially if I have never met them, again life happens & things come up, & during these crazy still pandemic times you need to be reasonable. Lee writes back & apologizes for running late & that the customer he was with ran longer than expected but is now on his way. I met Lee & he was professional, courteous but got to work on my Hayward heater straightaway , troubleshooting it. Lee was able to fix my heater after some tinkering around, hoorah! As before years back & now again, I had mice who decided to nest in there probably during the winter & made a mess (chewed tubing, feces, nesting material of twigs leaves etc). Lee fixed the air tubing (the material of the tubing attracts mice) & replaced the corroded pressure switch. Lee also gave me some handy advice on how to deter mice from returning by soaking cotton balls in peppermint oil & placing them inside the areas where mice tend to crawl in (I've heard of this method before from pool folks at Leslie's Supples, pest control folks, etc) which we did. Lastly, Lee helped me find a part on Amazon that had cracked (control panel keypad membrane) which saved me a ton of money!!! Lee went above & beyond. The reason for the long review which I'm sure some Yelp reviewers are most likely irritated they've continued to read this far is I wanted to point out that I read the all the reviews, both good and bad. If you just have some patience & understanding, be reasonable & willing to hear the other person out, you will most likely be able to work things out 99.9% of the time. For my instance, it worked out. Lee was genuine and I only have a positive review with my overall experience regarding the services Lee provided for my pool/spa heater repair. Ok, so this guy replaced our check valve and the outlets in the back of our filter tank. He said he'd come back with a gasket for my filter, and take a look at our hot tub led that had stopped lighting. However, he never came back or called back. Now, just under 2 months from when he did his repairs, both areas where he worked on now leaking! Not just a little leak either. So I call him back, he says he'll call me next week, and to text him my address. Which I did. No call. Talk to him today, after more than a week, he was abrupt and dismissive and even had the nerve to say "they weren't leaking when I left"! Unprofessional and rude. I hired Innovative Pool service to replace a pool pump and circuit board as well as to do a one time service on the pool before it closes escrow since the water was turning green. He said it would be done on Saturday. I checked with him on Monday and he said the part wasn't in stock but he'll do it today. I check on Tuesday and he said his truck broke down. I checked on Wednesday and he said it will be done by the end of the day. It's now Thursday and he hasn't done the work and he hasn't returned my call. Not once has he called me to let me know about the delays. We are closing escrow soon and are running out of time. His communication and professionalism have been less than impressive so far. I will not use Innovative Pool Service for future needs. Update: Lee saw my review and was very upset. Turns out he did start the job but never communicated it to me and didn't finish. He said he would not finish until I removed the review. I asked him to send me a bill and I would pay him for the work he did and I'd have someone finish the job. He became very aggressive and still has not sent me an invoice. Our pool pump started smoking and then stopped working altogether. I called Lee expecting to hear I needed to waited weeks for a repair but he was willing to come out the same day to replace it. Lee ultimately replaced our old broken pump with a state of the art variable speed pump that's a lot quieter and that's going to save us a lot of money on electricity. From last minute issues with a faulty heating issue that needed attention immediately before a large pool party to the kindness he shows our large breed dogs and little ones who always want to help him clean. Joke. In fact I feel it's my duty to say something about this as Chris was the scum realtor showing our neighbors home whose pool turned green. We set a showing appointment to see the property as we had an interested family member in Purchasing it. 1. Chris asked on the spot if we knew any good Pool men that serviced the area. 2. The listing had been sitting for over 2 months and the pool was green...what agent allows a vacant property pool to sit that way. 3. Lee came immediately (that's same day!) to look at, asses and tell Chris what needed to be done. 4. Chris asked lee to fix the costly repairs only to be paid when completed. 5. For as flakey of an agent to get a second showing of this property Chris was equally as flakey about letting our pool man back in to make the repairs! 6. This was a classic, realtor doesn't do their job, fairs poorly for the sweet sellers and realtor try's to place blame on someone else ...pretty sure the listing sat until Chris was replaced. And no the property was not in escrow when Lee was asked to make repairs because we introduced lee to Chris during a showing appointment. Let's see if Chris responds to this review...hey Chris? Did you actually sell the home or did you lose the listing first. We have a phenomenal community with an outstanding pool man who services many of our neighbors homes and scum like you who take to his reviews and trash his name? i have been dealing with his lack of responsiveness for over a year. I first contacted him and he responded and we set a time for him to come over. He didn't show and didn't call after my wife waited for him most of the day. I called him serval times and he didn't answer. Not until I left a 1 star review on yelp did he response. He asked me to change it and he will be over. I did and he came over and looked at the jacuzzi but then ghosted me again. Again I had to hunt him down for a response. He finally told me oh I need a part that isn't in. I asked how long will it take, and his response was, he didn't know. He then tells me to ask someone else to come fix it because he is to busy. This would've been fine to know in the beginning because other repair people had told me they couldn't do it. So, when I never heard from him again I just got frustrated and that's why I'm leaving this review now.
