My boyfriend and I went to play some pool and have a beer. We could not get the server's attention for a beer. There was a shift change and the new server ignored as well. This is the first bar I've been to, in terms of just being a bar. My experience was as follows. Nice waitress, called me a "good boy" for not drinking. Looks reasonably nice, for a typical small town bar. Fairly populated around 10:30 PM. My friend says the drinks are good and cheap, and that you can get "black out drunk" for $20. Which is apparently a good thing? I'd already eaten and drank plenty of soda, so I didn't get anything. But the vibe was pleasant enough. Loud music, some loud people, but nothing too off the walls. I was probably only worried because I don't like drinking, or bars. I'd never come back, but that's just because I don't drink. I came here because my friend wanted to show me the place. (We actually wanted to go to "The Hub" but he said it wasn't "popping" enough.) Overall, it's a nice enough bar for people that should be in attendance. Wack Vibe is hostile and overall not a great vibe if ur not white and old. Doesn't take vertical id, would have spent a good amount on pull tabs, But happy I didn't here. If your visiting for the weekend, this is like a locals only spot. read more

I'm on the fence about this place. During the day and early evening it's fine. The burgers and fries are good so no complaints there. But after dark...hmmmmmmm. It's got a bit of a rapey vibe if you ask me. It's definitely one of those places I don't feel comfortable leaving my drink unattended. Even being there with my fiancé I felt like I was being eyed by the regulars...and not in a good way. I'm a smoker so I don't like that there's nowhere to grab my drink and smoke outside. If you accidentally take 2 steps out the back door while holding your drink, the bartender will come running and tell you to put it down. I don't blame her though...rules are rules and she's trying not to get in trouble. It also wouldn't take much for the owner to put a rope or something out back for the smokers so they can take their drinks outside with them. But it's not a huge deal to me personally because I don't like the vibe and rarely go there. read more

Nice bartender when I was there, typical low life regulars here also, though the low life behavior is not tolerated here as it is next door. I laughed when a couple guys left the bar and people cheered that they left. Lots of pull tabs, which seem to be a draw here. Food is good and service is good. Tower Tavern. Another one of Downtown Centralia's many dive bars. I consider this one to be the "country western" variety. Not because it bills itself that way, but because that is what comprises most of the clientele and by proxy, the music. This is also the main place in Centralia to find young, dumb 20somethings being loud, obnoxious and violent on a Friday or Saturday night. Having said that, this place has a few saving graces. One is that there is good food specials at least a couple times a week. Someone mentioned taco tuesday, but there is also ridiculously cheap burgers and fries on Saturdays. It also has karaoke a few nights a week, which some people like but I can honestly take it or leave it. And lastly, some of those 20somethings I mentioned before are some of the only young ladies you will find in many of downtown's watering holes on a weekend night. This is a fantastic bar in Centralia. Stopped by on the way back from Portland and had brunch. Probably the best freshly made bloody marys ever with olives asparagus peppers and even a meat stick. Chicken wings were freshly made with great selection of sauces to dip. Highlight was the eggs benedict where she made the hollandaise sauce fresh. Perfectly made. I found what I was looking for at the Tower Tavern. I forgot a whole lot more! The Tower is a great neighborhood bar. As long as it is not my neighborhood!! The bartenders are quick and responsive and always know what to serve you when you aren't sure what you feel like. I usually say, "make me whatever you want, just no Crown Royal or Jagermeister." Regardless of what you get, it will be stiff. Don't worry if you forget a few things from the night before and sleep in until 2:00PM- I call it the Lew Flu. The food passes for pub food, but you don't go to the Tower for food unless it is Taco Tuesday. The drinks are inexpensive and stiff. The entertainment is usually Karaoke or two guys in Romeos and camoflauge fighting. Things to remember at the Tower Taver: 1) Great Taco Tuesday. 2) No quick movements. 3) Keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times. 4)Don't wear a button down dress shirt. 5)Don't stare the ladies directly in the eye. We go to this bar almost every weekend, either for dancing Friday night, karaoke Saturday night, or free pool all day Sunday. I moved here a couple years ago and found this place. Great service, great food, great drinks all at very fair prices...well, except for charging a dollar for using plastic, but whatever, its only a buck. There were three great bartenders: Reena, Michelle and Liz. Fast forward to now and you will find a filthy dump.. Barkeep has the worst attitude I have ever seen. None of the old staff that were so cool are there, now we have an idiot who cant remember to bring the drink you paid for or what food you ordered, and then....April. April is the daughter of the owner. She is a raging bitch who should not be in public contact. She openly insulted my girlfriend after she screwed up our order last time, but this time is too much. Love stopping in these hole in the walls in the center of a tiny town. Had lunch earlier so no food here, but ordered a double vodka and settled in. They have a couple of pool tables here as well a very ancient video game. The bartender was new and very nice. I always love talking & getting to know new people. Nice place to stop in. Worst customer service experience ever. My group was kicked out with no warning by a woman who basically just started swearing at us and being incredibly rude. She said, "It's after 2am. I don't come to your work and sit there after it closes so get out now." It was actually 1:40, and again, we had no prior "heads up" about needing to leave.
