Excitedly waiting for yummy local ice cream!!
    Kelly A.

We arrived right before the rush ... with only a few cars ahead of us. Within a couple minutes, we were greeted by one if the workers with a pad in hand ready to take our order. After finally getting our kiddos to decide what they wanted (after changing their minds multiple times)....she was able to head in with our order (her patience was amazing...all the while maintaining a smile and kindness). In about 5 minutes we received everything we ordered (talk about prompt)... especially since it was an order from 5 people - each requesting something different. Once we received the food, we all dove in immediately. All I can say is my turtle sundae was delicious and we had quiet from our kiddos ... that is, until they finished their treat! Always love stopping in when we are back in town.

This little ice cream shop could be a a little better than it is. The ice cream selection is your normal selection of items found at a ice cream stand. Nothing really jumps out at me on the menu. The menu board has been updated and is easy to read now. I ordered a turtle pie sundae and was asked what size. There is only one price on the menu board so this confused me a little. Apparently you can order anything on the menu and make it what size you want but there is no way of knowing that before hand or the price you will be charged. After I placed the order for my wife and I I handed my card to the young cashier and I was instructed it's a .50 charge to use a credit card. Not such a big deal but I don't really like being surprised. Once you place your order they close the window before the next person online can order. If a party of 5 orders an item the open and close the window 5 times and call out each order. It was literally like 5 seconds between each item. Looks like high school kids are staffing the place and no management so maybe this is the issue. Could be better with a little training and oversight.

Order the Cookie Monster Flurry. (I recommend a small - even the medium is huge!)

Love this little locally run place, but granted we avoid it when there's a long line. Used to be cash only, but you can use a card now for an extra fee. Highly recommend the Cookie Monster, but order the small - it's still pretty big! Looking forward to trying a few more things next year. For those out of town, this is a seasonal place so it's only open in the warmer months - don't plan on stopping in during the winter!

Upon entering, I approached the main cashier (who had a tattoo on her arm). She appeared visibly annoyed, did not greet me, and did not speak to me during the interaction. When I attempted to be friendly and engage, she remained silent, took my order without acknowledgment, and provided what felt like very poor customer service. While waiting for our food, I noticed a group of young people looking in our direction and making comments that appeared to be directed toward my child, which made us uncomfortable. The dining area also appeared unclean, with noticeable debris on the floor that made it unpleasant to walk through. When our food was brought to the table, the server seemed irritated when we asked to confirm our order. She responded in a dismissive manner, rolled her eyes, and walked away in an unprofessional way. Our order itself was also disappointing. The Blizzards were melted and not prepared properly, appearing rushed and not made to Dairy Queen standards. I was hoping that it would be a nice pleasant evening with both of my children instead it became a hostile place to eat at and clearly we were not welcomed. As I reflect on the fact that we now have a new highway, there will be a lot of people who will be coming to this DQ who are from different nationalities. I hope that they don't have the same atrocious experience as I did at this DQ. It would be a major disappointment considering that this DQ is new and was recently built.

The dining room has three booths that will seat six comfortably or eight children if you happen to be part of a group. The parking lot seems smaller than most fast food establishments with parking for dine in customers on one side of the building only. I counted 17 spaces total plus two handicap. The rest are for employees (8), mobile orders (3), and drive- thru (2). I ordered the Classic Original Cheeseburger single patty with Onion Rings. The cheeseburger was okay. It had their charbroiled flavor making it tastier than regular fast food fare. The onion rings were better and pretty good for a fast food establishment. After my meal I went back to the counter and ordered a small Strawberry Sundae. Both times had quick service despite a lot of training going on. The ice cream was excellent, the strawberries were obviously previously frozen. I already knew that and prefer the strawberry juice. The restroom was clean. It has a vacant/occupied sign built into the door handle so you know without tugging on the handle. I wish they had sprung for motion flush instead of the manual. The restroom was stocked.

Today I ordered the Filet Migon which comes in 3oz medallions, a Baked Potato, and a Salad. I also ordered a side or Mesquite Grilled Shrimp. The granddaughter ordered the Streak Tips, Fries and Mac n Cheese. All of my food was good except the shrimp, not that it was bad or cooked improperly, it was just a bit too spicy for my system. The granddaughter ordered dessert. She chose the Ooey Gooey Brownie and took it home. After we got home, I was in the garage for about 5 minutes and when I walked into the house that dessert was gone. LOL

I have no idea how this place keeps the doors open. Service is ok, they were not busy at all and food and service was fine. Waitress did her best I think. I'm not sure. Drinks didn't taste good. I told my wife it was like I was eating a hungry man from the frozen section. Place needs a whole new face lift. New focused menu. It's in desperate need of saving. Kids didn't even eat the chicken tenders, they said they were so dry. Oh well. Can't say I didn't give them a chance.
