I found out about this office through a referral from a coworker and I only have good things to say about it. It's so helpful that the office is close to where I work and they close at 7:00pm on Monday - Thursday, so I can go after work. Calling in and scheduling was extremely fast and simple and rescheduling was just as easy. The interior of the office is organized very well and feels very spacious. I personally think the inside looks very chic because of how well the minimum amount of furniture and furnishings are used to decorate the rooms, and because of how all of the displays of glasses are organized in such a way that really stand out and give style to the lobby. On my initial visit, I was helped out by Mimi and Dr. Lam who are both very welcoming and pleasant to speak to. Mimi did a great job of walking me through the initial eye exams, having done so while juggling a conversation with me. Dr. Lam was equally wonderful to speak with conversationally and more importantly, very informative about my test results and what they meant. The tests and equipment that were used felt very modern and up-to-date and the exams definitely felt more interesting than like a chore. I also took the time to pick out my first pair of glasses there and both Mimi and Dr. Lam were very patient and accommodating. Mimi helped pick out a couple of frames that she thought suited my tastes and both her and Dr. Lam kindly offered their opinion on which style they thought looked nice. I got to briefly meet the other staff such as Dr. Mai when I went to pick up my glasses and he was just as nice. Overall, this is an office in which you can really tell that the staff and especially the doctors are really passionate about their work and who really care about their staff on an individual basis. After many years of navigating the crowded freeways of Southern California on a motorcycle, I have a message for all of you: GET YOUR EYES CHECKED!!! And do it at Insight vision :) These guys have a great state of the art facility with great equipment and, more importantly, great service. Dr. Mai is phenomenal, as is the rest of the staff. They don't even have that air puffing torture device that makes your eyes water.... now there's a much less irritating way of doing whatever test that thing performs. One of the first things I noticed about this office is how innovative they are in their practice. You can just watch their intro video on their website to get a sense of it. It seems to me that they are adopting new (new to me, at least) technology in their work with their patients. I also love how cozy and welcoming each room in the center is. I started my check-up appointment with Jaime, followed by the eye exam with Dr. Lam. Both were super helpful and willing to answer any questions I came up with. Even though I didn't really NEED to, I decided to look for new glasses after my eye exam. Jaime did all the work - I didn't even have to get out of my seat! I tried on various frames that he brought to me, and ended up ordering a new pair of glasses that I'm now really liking. :) From start to finish, my experience with Insight Vision Center was great! read more

He personally helped select the new styles that fit the contour of my face, and from there I was able to pick a pair that I liked best. Although I had no idea what I was doing or what was going on with all of the tests, he was friendly enough to explain what was going on. He did make sure to wait until after each test was over before he would tell me what he was testing though, so I was not able to cheat... BLAST!!! haha Besides that, the overall layout of the place is very cool, new, and clean. I love this place! I've been near sighted since age 7, and my prescription got progressed every year since then. I also had astigmatism, which make my eye sight even worse. With condition like that, I really don't enjoy seeing eye doctors and looking stupid in front of those chart. I've always looking for a good eye doctor who's not just doing routine eye exam but also a advisor of the health of my eyes. Dr. Mai and Dr.Lam are awesome and very knowledgeable. More importantly, they genuinely care about my eyes! Especially with Dr. Mai, he has similar situation like mine which we both got near sighted in the young age and progressed year by year. He shared his story and made me feel i'm not the only "lucky"one. He repeatedly ensure me that he'll help me see better and I do with the new prescription he gave me. The staff are nice and friendly, they all make me feel welcomed and comfortable. Today i just had my last appointment for this year, I actually feel sad that I won't see these nice people for a while. I recommend this place to everyone I know. I've been with quite a few optometrists across the years, but Dr. Mai has been extremely helpful. He's down to earth, very knowledgeable, and you can plainly tell that patients come first. I've personally been fit with ortho-K and I've been loving my vision. My vision is clear, I don't have to deal with contacts throughout the waking hours, and most importantly, there's no lasers involved like with LASIK! I was in the Irvine area for the OC fair and decided to get my once a 4 years eye exam . Dr. Lam was very friendly and great at explaining all the procedures. Dr. Lam said my eyes were healthy and I did not feel pressured into buying anything. I ended up buying a pair of Ray-Bans. Dr. Lam was able to work with my VSP insurance and I got the glasses for a discounted price. There are a huge selection of frames and whatever they don't have they can order. The facility is new and clean. It is inside of a business park and a bit hard to locate. If you pull into the front entrance of the business park there's a map of the complex, just follow the map to the correct building. Overall great experience, see you in a few years. read more

Came to Insight Vision Center for my overdue eye exam. Scheduling was very easy online. The staff is incredibly welcoming and great. My eye exam was with Dr. Mai who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. It was also fun to pick out a new pair of glasses that looked much better than my old pair. The prescription and extras I ordered came out perfect, (transitions, anti blue light for frequent computer work, etc) and they were able to accept my insurance, so it was all very affordable too. I was recently in California for a wedding and had a problem with my contact lens. Dr. Thanh Mai was recommended by a family member to me and he was able to see me that afternoon. After the routine questions, he gave me an eye test and afterwards, he suggested that I try a different kind of contact lens that should help improve my vision. Unfortunately, I would have to see him in a follow up visit. In the meantime, I ordered a new pair of glasses that I could wear until my next visit to California. At that time, I will have my follow up visit with Dr. Mai regarding the contact lenses. The technicians at the vision center are truly knowledgeable, especially during the preliminary exam and the "picking out the right frame" phase. Fantastic!!! About two weeks ago I had a bit of blurry vision in one of my eyes. A fellow yelper/friend pointed me in the direction of this fantastic office. Whilst working around my busy work schedule, the office was able to accommodate me by scheduling me in the last same day appointment, and even stayed open a bit later than usual to meet my needs. Now that my vision insurance benefits has been renewed, I revisited yesterday for my annual routine eye exam. Dr. Mai was great and explained everything thoroughly. When it came to glasses selection, the staff was able to assist me in finding the perfect fit for my face shape and personality. They worked with me throughout my indesision on the types of glasses, as well as my desire for modern/classic/fun looks. Despite my inner hipster wanting plastic frames, Dr. Mai's staff showed me the value of nose pads on combatting "lash crash" (you know where you're Asian and have no real bridge for your glasses and your eye lashes end up smudging your glasses). I am proud to say that my final glasses frame selection has nose pads (fuction) whilst still maintaining a certain level of hipster fashionable style (purple with fun accents!)!
