Probably one of the best local coffee spots in the west suburbs. They have several locations and most are in Hillsboro. They roast their own coffee under the Dapper and Wise brand. It's generally above average and they offer multiple options from different regions. In a sea of amazing options in the Pacific NW, it is firmly above average. The menu is fairly extensive although I wish they had a pour over coffee option. Their cold brew is solid! The pastry and food options are high quality, but many of the pastries are far too oversized. I would only get one if I was planning to split one with a friend. Parking is easy in the lot out front. Bathrooms are clean and don't require a code. And I really love the upstairs space at this location for a nice place to send a few emails and sit on a perch of productivity. Check it out!

I've only been to the Hillsboro location and appreciate the spaciousness of this cafe. The oat milk latte was solid. You can ask for an in-person cup too. It was quite crowded, but I found seats. There are also seats available outside.

Insomnia is a good spot to pick up coffee and baked goods. If you like to study or work in a coffee shop, there's also a second level. It sometimes gets busy, but the line seems to stay moving. I alternate between the Iced Real Caramel Latte (4 stars) and the Iced White Chocolate Mocha (4 stars). I liked the flavors, and they had just right amount of sweetness. I skip the whipped cream. I liked the Honey Biscuit (4 stars), and I get disappointed when it's sold out. I prefer the Chocolate Croissant (4 stars) more than the plain Croissant (3.5 stars). It's a nice coffee shop with 4 star service.

First - good coffee. Had the real caramel latte with hemp milk substitution - I drank it all while chatting with friends. Second- Friendly, efficient staff. Third - solid safe ambiance, a mix of people socializing and others concentrated on their work/school. Seating outside available.

Great coffee, quick service, and delicious pastries. There is plenty of indoor seating with both a downstairs & upstairs seating area. Mornings and weekends can get pretty busy so be ready to wait in line, but it moves relatively quick! The cookies are HUGE and great to share. We got the chocolate chip cookie warmed up which was perfectly rich and gooey. We also ordered the honey biscuit (buttery and delicious) and the cheddar everything bagel with cream cheese. To drink, we got americanos which paired perfectly with our carb-loaded breakfast. Overall if you're looking to indulge in some yummy pasties and good coffee, insomnia has everything you could want. I definitely will come back to try more menu items!

Great ambience, looks bright and welcoming. Coming from Southern California, rarely get to see a 2 level Coffee shop. If your intent is spend a good amount of time sitting in the coffee shop to read a book and do your assignments, this place is awesome for the same. Plenty of baked items that goes well with the coffee and tea that these guys serve. Very clean environment and coffee tasted fresh and aromatic. Will definitely recommend this place.

Aztec Mocha

This was my first time to this particular location. After previewing a couple homes I was in need of some caffeine. I love the blended Aztec Mocha with chocolate whipped cream. It's my go to summer beverage. It's a rather large location compared to the other locations I've visited. This place had a few booth seats and an additional seating area upstairs in this two story cafe'. If I'm working in the area I'll definitely stop back in.

Lots of pastries!

I'd give it a 3.5. Arrived at around 10:30am. Environment: Very nice and fancy! Love the high-ceiling, 2 story building, great lighting, and looked very clean and organized. Staff: very friendly, helpful, and positive! Food: 1. I got their 12oz iced latte with fat free milk (~$4.75). I was a bit scared because some coffee places would make the coffee very bland when they use fat free milk/ low fat milk but the coffee flavor was still very strong and fragrant. Even when the ice melted, it was still good! 2. The reason why I gave it fewer stars is because of the croissant (~ $4.25). When I saw the stack of croissants I thought of my mom and got her one as it looked nicely made! I didn't look inside the bag until I got home (I guess my bad on that part) and when I took it out of the bag, I realized the top part was dark- I would say burnt. It was flakey and buttery but something that burnt shouldn't be sold. The top part did have that bitter flavor and was disappointed about that. The part under the burnt part was really good and the texture was amazing.

Cute shop, lots of pastries, but when I order a 12oz latte for $5.75, and pick it up and it's mostly foam, it's a bit disappointing.

Fun themed drinks and the pastries are pretty good. The staff are fabulous and make an effort to remember you in some fashion. I didn't go for 6 weeks, walked in, and they remembered my drink and the time after my name as well. Their actions to help the community are also commendable. I have always felt welcome here and if they were closer to my apartment, I'd be there every day instead of just most weekends.

There was ample seating to suit every mood (table and chairs, comfy chairs, and comfy sofas with plenty of outlets and side tables). There's a fun and fresh local artist goods shop tucked in the front corner. It's a perfect place to find a gift for yourself or others. The menu is a nerdy dream come true. When we visited a couple of weeks ago in May, the themed drinks were Lord of the Rings and Mario. I had the Gondor, which, if I recall, may have had hazelnut and cinnamon. I DO recall that it was delish. I forgot what drink my daughter ordered, but she enjoyed it as well. I look forward to coming back and trying their London Fog, which is one of my favorite drinks and seems to have significant praise from other reviewers. We didn't get an opportunity to try the food, but look forward to in the future. One refreshing surprise is that this is a no-tip establishment. I don't recall what I paid for the drinks, but I appreciate places that charge what they need to make their business work and to (hopefully) pay their employees a living wage. Brickhaus is rooted in community and belonging, and I am here for it!

I stopped by Deadstock Coffee while visiting the area and immediately loved the concept. As someone who loves coffee but loves sneakers even more, this place felt right up my alley. The shop itself is decorated with basketball and sneaker culture, along with iconic sports moments that make the space feel unique without trying too hard. One thing that caught me off guard was that there wasn't a traditional menu posted. As a first-time visitor, I wasn't sure what coffee options, blends, or milk choices were available. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy, and the employee working was incredibly patient, friendly, and happy to walk me through everything. Customer service like that goes a long way. My drink was excellent, and the sneaker design printed on top of the coffee was such a cool touch. It's one of those little details that makes the experience memorable and fits perfectly with the brand. Whether you're a sneakerhead, a coffee lover, or both, Deadstock Coffee is worth checking out. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in the area.

I ordered a Luther Vandross (Lavender Latte), Breakfast burrito, and burger with fries since it was after 11am. The Lavender latte was really good, I asked for extra sweet and it was perfect. The breakfast burrito was also delicious. I added sausage, Guac, and mushrooms. It would've been a 10/10 if left off the mushrooms. The burger tasted precooked, not a lot of flavor, just ok. The fries were fresh and hot, and seasoned perfectly. Another good experience at this incredible sneaker-themed coffee shop not too far from Nike. Definitely go for the coffee, you'll love it.

It's packed with savory flavor, and the egg has an incredibly light, cloud-like texture that pairs perfectly with the bacon, peppery arugula, and the rest of the ingredients. It's one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. Their lattes are just as impressive. I've tried both the ube coconut latte and the black sesame latte, each made with plant-based milk instead of regular milk. The ube coconut latte was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. The black sesame latte, however, was the standout for me. It had a rich, nutty flavor and is hands-down my favorite of the two. I don't believe it's a regular menu item, so if you happen to see it, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Loro is on the pricier side, which is why I don't visit as often as I'd like, but I genuinely think it's worth it. The quality of the food and drinks makes it feel like a special treat. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the parking. The café is tucked between apartments and other retail spaces, so street parking is your only option. I've had to circle the block several times before finding a spot, making it less convenient if you're driving. Parking aside, this is a charming neighborhood coffee shop that consistently serves flavorful food and thoughtfully crafted drinks. If you're looking to treat yourself to an exceptional breakfast sandwich and a beautifully made latte, Loro Coffee is well worth the visit.

But one bite in and it was clear it hadn't been warmed. When I mentioned it wasn't fresh, the staff defended it saying it was made the night before. Exactly my point -- if it was made the night before, warm it up. Even Starbucks does that. It was dense, cold, and not enjoyable at all. The coffee I ordered extra hot, and it wasn't. Within a few sips it was already lukewarm. That's a basic request that should be easy to get right. The atmosphere is okay visually, but it's packed with laptop workers and there's barely any space to sit and relax. People treat this place like a co-working space and give you stares if your kid makes any noise. It's a coffee shop, not a library or an office. And the tip screen before you even taste anything? The Mocha ($6.50 for 16oz) is way too sugary for my taste, but still tastes good, consider getting water to wash it down. The pastries are brought in daily and made by Jenn. And we tried only the Croissant ($6) and the Spinach & Ricotta Lattice Pastry ($7) but these were much better than the freshly made Avocado Toast ($9.50), even though the avocado was ripe and the toast was good, however it was missing salt or whatever seasoning to make it as good as the other pastries. SERVICE Super fast and super friendly . One thing is having a decoration that calls for inclusion, but having a team that represents it, that's gold.
