I am never a fan of giving low reviews but my experience with Insomnia was one to ensure I never order from them again This store is less than a mile away. I ordered directly from their app for cookies to be delivered at 1:30 pm. I receive a text that my order is out for delivery at 1pm. By 1:40 pm, I call bc I have yet to receive my cookies. I'm told that they are out delivering my cookies. By 2 pm, I receive an email that my cookies aren't deliverable and to call. Once I call, I'm told that the driver called me multiple times to try to deliver the cookies. However I have zero missed or new incoming calls. So they ask if I want it redelivered now or later date when they have an actual Insomnia driver vs a Postmates driver. I say later at 7:30pm. Well, 7pm roll around and I call to make sure my order will be delivered still. I called at least 4 times with zero answer. Then at 7:20 pm I get an email that says my order was delivered but I never got any cookies. This time I have to reach out to insomnia on Twitter bc again, I cannot get anyone to answer the phone. They tell me the driver tried to call and deliver but was unable to reach me. Odd bc I received zero calls. Needless to say by this point, I just asked for a refund. This was so much hassle, very poor customer service and awful application experience. The company should really ensure their app works correctly bc the track order function never worked. And they should also check phone lines bc calls aren't going through. Do they have good cookies? Yes. Ive had it in the past at a friends. But after this experience, it's very unlikely i'll give them any of my business. read more

Pros: These are some delicious cookies! And for the night owls, this place is open at wee hours of the night/morning. Cons: While these are delicious, and chewy and freshly baked cookies, and while they do earn 4 stars for that, I can't justify paying $8.00 for 6 cookies. I.just.cant. I mean, don't get me wrong, they were delicious. But way overpriced. I had the sugar, oatmeal raisin and white chocolate macadamia nut. My date had the other three. My only regret is not having visited Insomnia Cookies sooner. What's better than fresh, warm cookies? They have large/super cookies and regular sized cookies. I was tempted by the super cookies, but I practiced "some" self control and ordered four regular sized cookies to share with my husband. I ordered snicker doodle, peanut butter, chocolate chip, and M&M. They were all delicious within their own right, crispy on the edges and soft (almost gooey) on the inside - perfection. Parking can be a bit of an issue given the location in the heart of Five Points, but I was fortunate to be able to hop out and run in to make the to-go purchase while my husband circled the block. They'll tell you the cookies will arrive in an hour, but it took much longer for us to get our order. I struggled to find a number for customer service (you cannot contact the local store that is actually baking your cookies). I work late at night and have these cookies delivered to me at work on an almost weekly basis. They are some of the best cookies I've had with the white chocolate macadamia nut, m&m cookie and double chocolate mint being my favorites. Though I have never tried the ice cream sandwich cookies, they definitely look amazing by their yelp pictures. For taste, selection, and convenient hours, I give 4.5 stars. My most recent dining experience, however, was unfortunately a miss. I had come in with three friends and after they paid and received their cookies I was next in line. Something happened when the cashier was told he needed to help another worker in the back with something. I had to just wait there and didn't get a chance to order till my friends were halfway done eating before I got a chance to order. My experience at Insomnia was pretty good! I went pretty late on a weeknight with my boyfriend for dessert. We got a half dozen cookies with a mix of chocolate chip, red velvet, and double chocolate. They were all delicious and served warm! Our cookies were served in a recyclable cardboard box lined with parchment, so I would say that the packaging was pretty sustainable. The employees were all very kind, and I really appreciate that they enforced COVID-19 safety protocols. Only 5 people were allowed in the building at a time, and they reminded other patrons to wear masks properly too. The employees I saw all had their masks on properly too.
