So I'm still unable to get that offer with the app. I did go to the store only to find out that the individual working that day had no idea what the special offer is. If I could give 0/5 stars I would. I've given Insomnia at this particular location many chances and I am just over it. As much as I try to be understanding, the workers there are rude and inattentive. Whether it be trying to place an order through the phone or in person, all my experiences have not been great. No one answers the phone when I try and place an online order and when I arrive at the store, they are short and rude. I've also been in the store while waiting for my order and witnessed them simply ignore the phone ringing. We were staying in boulder for the night and after a long day of hiking we were really craving some ice cream. There were a bunch of chain restaurants and typical ice cream places you find all over the place but insomnia cookies sounded like it would be a fun/unique place to visit. It's clearly in a college town and the establishment is super small but always packed. Love that it doesn't close till 3am. I've driven by this place many times and thought I had to try it! Well, after tonight's poor experience I don't think I'll return. For starters it took forever because the man behind the counter was extremely distracted and kept asking us to hold on and would go in the back and talk on his cell phone. When we walked in, the worker was in the back on a personal call and didn't come up to the front until two other customers entered after us. She was incredibly short with us and not personable at all, making me feel stupid for asking a question. I love insomnia, primarily for when I am feeling weak at 1am and give in to my sugar cravings. They also have some pretty good deals and the fact that they have ice cream is awesome. All of the delivery guys I have interacted with have been great. That being said, the three stars is for: 1) cookie consistency: sometimes they are warm and perfect and absolutely bomb. Other times they are a bit cold, stale, and just meh. I know a lot of this has to do with timing for when they come out of the oven, so I doubt it's really fixable. 2) there is/was a lady working the counter that was probably one of the rudest workers I have ever met. To preface, I am pretty easy going and never expect nor demand much. That being said, I asked her for another container and she pretty much verbally attacked me. I typically order cookie cakes from Great American Cookies, which I consider great, so that is my level of expectation. I ordered the small cookie cake, double chocolate chip. The icing picture in the middle was made of fondant (I'm guessing?) and was not entirely edible so I peeled that off and ate the icing beneath it. The pizza-style box it came in became extremely greasy after only one day. Also, the cookie cake started having that stale taste after only two days despite being kept closed and in a pantry. They have horrible service at this particular establishment. My family and I were so excited when we saw an advertisement about gluten and vegan options, because we have many allergies in our family. Upon entering the establishment, a worker eventually wandered in from the back.... chewing on something like a twist tie? We asked him about the dairy and gluten free options available, to which he replied "We do not recommend any of our products to those with allergies." We were quite confused after seeing the advertisement, and my sister proceeded to ask "what about your vegan and gluten free cookie?" To which his lazy reply was "oh ya.. well except for that", all while grossly chewing on the twist tie thing. He was very rude, quite disgusting and not accommodating at all. Completely unprofessional. If you are going to advertise allergy friendly products, then your staff should be at least familiar with answering allergy related questions. I am devastated. All I wanted was some warm gluten-free chocolate chip cookies on my rainy Friday night. I ordered these delectable treats only to be throughly disappointed and might I even say, heartbroken. After waiting over 45 minutes for my sweet sweet treats to be delivered to my apartment, which is a 4 minute drive from the place itself, I decided to check my order status. Much to my surprise, the text read delivered, but I still stood, empty handed in the pouring rain outside. I could have just cried, my poor cookies were out there, somewhere, just out of reach, scared, cold and alone. I was not reassured that my order was on its way and grew increasingly anxious over the unknown location of my cookie friends.
