It's day 90! I've enjoyed the stats, reviews and photos since I joined yelp and decided to use day 90 to get my reviews to a nice round number with a hot and new business. Insomnia cookies has been open for 7 weeks- their babies! This brings Denton to 3 places that deliver until 3am! I placed the order while I was at work and chose a time slot later so I could get home and be greeted with cookies, milk and ice cream! It's a pretty nifty idea. They are on Fry street on campus and it's very clever that students cramming into the wee hours can get their sugar high without leaving their dorm. Ordering for specific times really opens up their possibilities though- meetings, parties, sending a get well, yummy package to someone who can't leave the house. You're paying for it though. They have a $6 minimum with traditional cookies being $1.50 and deluxe cookies like S'mores being $3. They have ice cream sandwiches on cookies- a cookiewich, starting at $5.50. They do 10 inch cookie cakes serving 8 for $20 and also have brownies and ice cream and of course milk. The milk is Bordens and is sold at a premium for $3.10, though they do have all the flavors. They have deals on cookies starting from a six pack of traditional cookies for $8.25 up to 300 cookies, they're not messing around. The individual prices on items are quite high but dude, you're getting cookies delivered! To be fair to them, their delivery fee is only $1.99. I ordered a pint of cookies and cream, milk and a six pack. Full disclosure, I haven't tried the ice cream yet since it's cold out, I just got it because everyone should have ice cream in the freezer for emergencies. I just wanted to sample their offering so I ordered one each of the double chocolate mint, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter chip, snickerdoodle, sugar and white chocolate macadamia. The cookies arrived warm- score! I found the mint to be very strong but I actually got it for my husband who liked it, I think when it comes to mint you either like it or you don't. It was also a thicker consistency than the other cookies which were soft in the middle with crispy edges, the chocolate mint was a lot more dense. Their oatmeal raisin was super impressive to someone who ranks oatmeal pretty low on the cookie scale- so soft, it pulled apart like nothing and the recipe was very tasty. The peanut butter crisp is probably my favorite, the peanut butter chips were melted in and the peanut butter taste was just right. The sugar cookies are divine, they are the softest of all of the cookies with the perfect dough ratio and melt in your mouth. The snickerdoodle was okay, I've had better snickerdoodles but this wasn't terrible, just flatter than I expect and I couldn't taste much of the cinnamon. The white chocolate macadamia was... another sugar cookie instead of the white chocolate macadamia- awwww, insert sad trombone sound here. Their sugar cookie was delicious so I wasn't bothered by this, I was just wanting to sample as many of the flavors as possible. However, if I was one person in a group that ordered and MY cookie wasn't there, I would be pissed. I don't play around when it comes to my desserts. :) It's unclear to me if they mistakenly put in the sugar cookie or if they ran out and substituted it. Mistakes happen, but if they ran out, the correct thing to do would be to contact me and see if I want a different flavor. Since this is me and I love all things sweet, I was perfectly content with a second sugar, more so than the chocolate mint or snickerdoodle. When they arrived I only had a bite each so I could sample them warm and save the rest for later. Six bites of cookie and a third of strawberry milk may have me bouncing off the walls here, they are pretty rich and I ordered the least sugary options I saw (I know, right??) so beware you don't fall into a diabetic coma. If you go to their location, they open at 9am and they start delivery at 10am. Since parking is sparse in that area, at least during the week, I would say the delivery model is a smart choice. Considering this is a college town, I think they will do just fine. I don't think I will realistically order expensive cookies very often but I was thinking it was too bad I work so far away as it would be perfect for team treats. Definitely something to consider for your next event or if you are pulling an all-nighter and need that sugar rush. 4 stars for now as they are still new, a little pricey and mixed up one of my cookies. Keep in mind when seeing this rating that there isn't another business like this in town to compare how the model is working but they have sweet treats and they are indeed sweet. I place an online order for my UNT daughter and paid for delivery. They didn't deliver the cookies to her, so I called their customer service line. She was very nice and promised that it would be delivered that same day. NOTHING! I called back and she tried calling the Denton location and didn't get anyone to answer the phone so she emailed the manager and stated that the issue would be corrected. NOTHING again!! Again, I called and asked for a refund and the customer service person was again very nice and stated she would refund my money and gave me a $20 gift card. I have never had an issue when I go in person. However every time I order delivery there is ALWAYS issues. I love insomnia because their vegan cookies are actually delicious. So tonight my friends and I ordered a party pack, a drink, and I got my vegan cookies. I called immediately to confirm my order and told them I just wanted to make sure they got the order as I have had issues in the past ordering through uber. They confirmed the order and said there would be no issues. I live literally two streets over from insomnia. We placed the order at 12:00 and my ETA was originally 12:30. The order did not arrive until 1:00 AM. Annoying but I'm not one to care that much about late food. They didn't bring the drink. And instead of calling me and telling me they're out of vegan chocolate chip cookies instead replaced them with completely different non vegan cookies. I would have much rather been refunded or given an option than sent cookies I can't eat. What's even better is they left the check list and checked off everything I ordered even though 2/3rds of the order was completely wrong or missing all together. I personally think TIff's Treats is better, but there's nothing wrong with their cookies, I just like Tiff's more. Their chocolate chunk, as the name says, has chunks. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate chunks, it's very sweet when you get a bit of it. Tiff's uses chips so it's not that intense of a hit. However Insomnia has a really nice crisp around the edges that is fantastic. Their oatmeal raisin was on par with Tiff's. My wife thinks they're not as sweet overall as Tiff's as well. A coworker described their cookies as "very greasy" and they were a bit on the greasy side, but I think so are Tiff's. Overall not a bad cookie if you prefer chocolate chunks over chips. read more

First of all I love these cookies, they are so amazing and yummy. But I'm leaving 2 stars because who ever the brunette girl is with the glasses is the most incompetent worker around. She botched 2 of my orders and didn't even apologize. I told her that she gave me something I didn't ask for and she just stared at me. They didn't have very many icecream choices, but they were all very rich like salted caramel, cookies and cream and the one I ultimately chose a dark chocolate almond flavor. It was great. We also tried the triple chocolate chip, regular chip and snickerdoodle. This is basically a Tiff's Treats with great icecream and stays open late. It's hard to overstate what a disaster this location is. I placed a pickup order, then called to confirm they received it because it's a 25 minute drive from my house and I didn't want to risk it not being ready. The kid answered, flustered, but confirmed they received it and it would be ready at 8. I drive up there and the store is a mess - no division for walk-ins and pick-ups so tons of delivery drivers needlessly waiting alongside me. Finally about 25 minutes into our wait, the self-important guy running the cashier frantically tells everyone they are out of basically every cookie. So I ask, can we just get pickup orders and go? He chooses then - not when I called in, or arrived - but 50 minutes into this experience - to tell me my order, which I already paid for, just won't be fulfilled. Zero apologies or even confirmation of a refund, which I will obviously pursue myself, but c'mon. The amount of time this kid wasted for every student and delivery driver in line, with zero apologies, is pretty abhorent. On top of that, I had to call customer service today, and they were awesome, but he had never even submitted my $40 order for a refund after sending me away empty handed. I hate writing bad reviews because I normally enjoy Insomnia, but after our order took 1.5 hours to arrive (cold), the cookies were stuffed in bags. One cookie was too stale to eat, and two were beyond raw and got goo all over the other cookies!! When we called, the girl was quite short with us. This was my first time visiting Insomnia Cookies and I'm sure it's going to be my last. The customer service was horrible. I ordered a small vanilla ice cream cup & after two bites I realized it tasted funny and I didn't want it anymore. I told the cashier that the ice cream didn't taste right & he took it back & threw it in the trash, then he stated he was still going to charge me for it. So I asked if i could exchange that one for a different flavor seeing that he had already thrown it away & he say if you get another one I'll have to charge you for that one too. So basically I paid $5 for a cup of ice cream that ended up in the trash. I've never been to a place who didn't replace something if you didn't like it or offer you a refund. What I like the most about this place is that it delivers, and you can order online without calling! The website is simple to navigate, and they don't take long to deliver (~20 mins). I ordered a pint of chocolate ice cream ($7.25) to go with my s'mores deluxe cookie ($3). The ice cream came and it was still frozen. It went well with my yummy cookie, which came in a nice looking box with the moon-cookie logo. The cookie was warm and right when I scooped some ice cream on it, it melted. AHHH MAHHHH GAWDDDDD this place is the bomb! Like literally put individual bombs in their ice cream and cookies! My girlfriend and I ordered uber eats but we did get to experience their food. Man it was just great. The texture of the cookies was so perfect it just melted in your mouth, the ice cream just explodes with flavor as it melts in your mouth. Once you combine both the Insomnia cookies and Insomnia icecream....... BOOOMMMM thats when you think about life and your like "woah where am I". This place taste so good but they do need to work on packaging. Late night cookie delivery? Yes, please! If you're dropping in during the late evening hours however, parking is tricky to find, given the number of bars in the neighborhood. Which is okay, since devouring these little sugar-bombs on-the-go might blunt some of the excess calories. We found parking a couple blocks away and walked to the shop to check out the menu. The slightly larger "deluxe" cookies are the better tasting options over the traditional. During our visit, we partook of the S'mores (yumx1), Triple Chocolate Chunk (yumx2), and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup (yumx3) cookies as well as some traditional cookies. All were served warm and soft-baked in the Insomnia signature box. On a cold night, a box of cookies can be an irresistible lap warmer! Be sure to ask after their specials, though a proffered giveaway tee shirt was absent in our takeout order. Top 3 worst customer service experiences I have had. Long story short, I placed an order for two cookie cakes that were said to be ready at 1:15pm on Saturday. Birthday party started at noon. Went to go pick up the cakes, and they were not ready. They said I could wait an hour and a half or come back at 5pm. And miss the party? Think outside the box, Insomnia, if you can't follow through on an order (I know, it happens) make sure that customer doesn't leave without a solution to the problem. Instead of saying "that is outside of our delivery zone" when asked if you could deliver, make an exception since it was your mistake my order wasn't ready when promised. I would have even paid for the delivery. Maybe offer another product that wouldn't take as long to make, or maybe a store credit for a future purchase. I've ordered delivery here a bunch before, but tonight I really pushed the boundaries of the 3:00am closing time. I'm off tonight, but typically I work nights so my sleep schedule is pretty strange. I got a late night cookie craving and decided to order some cookies. I receive a phone call a few minutes later from a shockingly upbeat, incredibly friendly female employee. They were out of 2 of the Cookies I ordered, and offered me incredible options for compensation. I don't think I got a name, but if I did I don't remember it. She called from a California area code if that narrows it down. She's a customer service ace, and I hope this results in some sort of recognition or acknowledgement from her bosses. Based on the cookies that I ate I can say that the white chocolate macadamia cookies are really soft and buttery. The m and m cookies were like any other homemade cookies I've tried.
