I confess, I almost always order the Gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream sauce. I add shrimp and mushrooms. Little pillows of heaven. Awesome. Next time I am going to order another dish as my husband's choices have been stellar too. And don't skip dessert. The cannelloni is delicious and the gelato amazing too. You can even pick 2 flavors. Service is friendly and fun.

I loved the prosciutto topped with Gorgonzola and fig - it's the best combination. Ian was our server he was awesome, thankfully we were able to get a table today, the last time we went on a whim they were slammed so I highly recommend you make reservations. Our reservation was at 4:30 around 5 they dimmed the lights - setting the vibes, I love that. Great experience!

I was in search of a delicious and refreshing treat with my boys one afternoon up in Duluth. There is paid parking along the street but I opted to park in a neighborhood and walk a couple blocks for free. As I was walking, I ran into The Portland Malt Shoppe. I also tried this place and have a review posted (spoiler: it wasn't a good review...) Starting on the sidewalk you follow a trail of ice cream cones! Adorable! Tucked away behind the boat club is a small pink stand that is selling big and delicious flavors! The service was extremely friendly and fast! I wanted to try a few flavors so we got honey lavender, mango lime sorbet, and vanilla. Each flavor was absolutely delicious and the textures were perfect! My favorite was the Mango lime sorbet! Very refreshing! The views here are soooo pretty! Be careful where you sit, many of the tables and chairs are reserved for the boat club members only. There were some benches and you can walk down the stairs to the boardwalk area to find more benches as well! I will absolutely be returning to this hidden gem the next time I am in Duluth! Definitely worth the stop!

I paid $6.30 for one scoop and did not eat it. I don't think I'm that picky when it comes to ice cream. I'm trying to come up with how to describe it and the word chalky comes to mind - or styrofoam (what styrofoam might taste like if it was easy to chew). It's not that it's simple or less sweet - those things I can like and appreciate. It's just not good and has a strange texture. Crazy!

The beer selection was a little smaller than we expected, but there was still a nice variety of styles, so everyone in our group found something they enjoyed. They also have a full bar with specialty cocktails. The food menu was surprisingly large with lots of unique and fun options to try. The only small downside was that the Brussels sprouts were still a little undercooked for our taste, but everything else was excellent and more than made up for it. Excellent brisket, fish n chips, and build your own burger! The garlic aioli and IPA mustard sauces were definitely memorable. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, craft beer, and a fun atmosphere located right on the pier. We'd definitely come back!

We got on the waiting list and were told it'd be about a 30 minute wait. By golly, we know from the time stamps on the texts that it was 32 minutes total. We were seated outside, and service was fast and smooth from that point. We had the pretzel sticks appetizer, which was fantastic. Very soft, hot pretzels, and the queso was thick and loaded with flavor. My husband had the Canal Park red lager and really enjoyed it. My main dish was the birria tacos, which were quite good but could have used more cheese. Salsa and chips were fine, too. My husband had jalapeño popper burger with fries, and really liked it. Checkout was fast and pleasant.

The service was…read morefantastic--our server was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with explaining portion sizes for sharing. This is an upscale tapas menu, expect small plates and a surprising mix of delightful, seasonal flavors. We enjoyed the trio of dips, our favorite was the muhammara--roasted pepper and walnut with citrus and pomegranate seeds. We added on an extra pita to soak up every bite. Next was the dolma, a delicious combo of flavors and twist on the traditional. The kale salad was perfectly dressed and grilled peach added just the right sweet contrast. The Lake Trout with couscous was outstanding but my favorite part of the plate was the chermoula--a tangy, herby olive oil concoction that I must replicate. The chef came by to talk to us and answer our questions. We each enjoyed a signature cocktail, I highly recommend the Limonada 75, an Italian take on the French 75 with limoncello. We wrapped up our experience sharing the Olive Oil Cake with a rhubarb compote and generous dollop of fresh whipped cream. We will absolutely be back, we have to try the halloumi, which was unavailable, and the pasta at the table next to us looked tasty. There was also plenty of variety for a vegetarian/pescatarian to choose from. Alto Pino is expensive, but worth it. A dinner shared between three people including sharing 4 small plates, dessert, drink, and 20%+ tip came out to about $70 each. You are also paying for the experience of tasting something new and unlike anything else offered in Duluth. Reservations were easy to make online, you should make yours today! PS I'd love to see their twist on traditional Spanish tapas like patatas bravas or pan con tomate on the menu!
