Vegan Birthday Cake with vanilla ice cream
    Sarah M.

Insomnia cookies got the best cookies I have ever tasted and I have tried many famous cookie places. They got the right amount of crunch around the cookie, soft and chewy in the middle. They served the cookie warm and every bite of the cookie was filled with flavors! My favorite was Vegan birthday cake.

3.5 stars. Decided to give this place a shot. The building is in the heart of South side right by the corner of South 18th. I grew up in the area, so I'm familiar with the traffic and surrounding crowds that frequent the area, including people like the two men who got into a shouting match (almost fist fight) right outside the building. The space inside is quite small, so they can only fit a small number of patrons in at a time. With a few stools inside for seating. The wall paint was bright and the menu board was digital and easy to read. They offer complimentary items like milk and ice cream to go with the cookies. We ordered a few different cookies to sample a variety. We also wanted 12 mini chocolate chip cookies, but they ran out, so they gave us 6 red velvet and 6 chocolate chip. Some cookies were served slightly warm, but not quite, and some were room temperature --but they all were soft and chewy. The cookies were served in a container similar to a pizza box. The cookies were sweet and easy to chew, but above all, we preferred the classic chocolate chip cookie against the others. The cookies are a little pricey for what it's worth, but they can still fulfill your late night sweet tooth craving.

    Spicy Hot Cocoa Cookie

This was my first time at this location. I have had insomnia cookies before though. I kept seeing ads for the seasonal spicy hot cocoa cookie and it was so tempting. I was in the area anyway so stopped in. This location is small. It's also hard to spot unless you are looking just for it. It's not much to look at and there really isn't places to sit. As far as the location it is nowhere near as nice as the other location I have been to. It smells so good as soon as you walk in though. The aroma definitely gets you. Service was fine. I ordered the cookie I wanted and took it to go. The spicy hot cocoa cookie is a rich chocolate cookie and has ancho and chipotle in it, as well as sea salt on top. The combination is delicious. At first you get the rich chocolate with a touch of salt and then the heat creeps in at the end. It is well balanced. You get just a hint of the warmth from the chilis. I would definitely order this again.

This is way better than Crumbl cookies! The vegan & gluten free cookies was just as good especially when they are warm & serve with a scoop of ice cream.

This is the best invention since the wheel! Freshly baked, hot cookies delivered to your door until 1am? Yes, please! We got the 6 pack of deluxe cookies and a pint of vanilla ice cream and it hit the spot! I wish we had an Insomnia Cookies in my hometown! The cookies were hot, gooey, and delicious. The ice cream was the perfect addition! I wish I would've gotten a glass of milk to wash it all down (which they offer!)

Maybe you're thinking: "A cookie is a cookie, right?" Not quite. Insomnia cookies is an absolute godsend. Whether you're hanging out with friends at their apartment in the south side slopes and need a late night snack delivered or you're making your way from one of the bars on Carson to your Uber, Insomnia cookies is the way to go. I'm usually not even that into cookies (is that weird?) but something about a gooey warm cookie you didn't have to bake yourself in the middle of the night just feels right. Plus, you can gift people cookies with uplifting messages such as "sorry your day sucked." I can't think of a better way to fix a bad day.

If you're trying to eat fewer sweets, you'll want to think carefully about whether or not to enter Insomnia Cookies. This little store packs a big punch. And I do mean little. Other than some limited wall seating, there isn't really anything in the way of tables here. The majority of the space is dedicated to the display counter and Insomnia Cookies' treats specifically. But that has more to do with their business model than anything else. Normally, bakeries and stores close in the evening - it makes it a little harder to get a sugar rush, maybe sometimes helps to keep us in check. Not Insomnia Cookies, though. They're open so late that it becomes early again (like 3am early), and as if that's not bad enough, they deliver. (If this sounds like a college student's dream, by the way, you're not wrong. The business was founded by a student in 2003.) Whether you visit a storefront itself or get an order delivered, you'll likely enjoy what you get. From singular cookies (if you have the willpower!), to two cookies paired with milk, to a box of cookies by the half dozen or full dozen, to full blown cookie cakes, this is the place for cookie lovers. As if that wasn't "bad" enough, though, wait - they make ice cream sandwiches! Yep, you can get ice cream served up on two enormous cookies. I've had one. I shared one. We still had leftovers to take home - there was that much ice cream sandwich to go around! Oh, did I mention that the cookies are served warm? I think this covers the most important things about Insomnia Cookies. So you can decide whether or not you trust yourself in their store. Or online. Or in their app. Cookie lovers enjoy - dieters beware!

5 for $10 box mixed cookies

My son and I went here for the first time. The cookies are more affordable than I thought they'd be and the varieties of boxes to try were great options! They weren't accepting cash when we went not sure if only during covid restrictions. We got the 5 cookie variety for $10. They are so warm melt in your mouth! Probably only con is the parking availability around Carson. I can't go back often I will gain too much weight!

I'm glad we stopped in, the ice cream was yummy and I loved how they heated the cookies up first before making the ice cream sandwich. The location is right on Carson so parking may prove to be an issue during busy times. I mean, yes it's delicious but for $8! Not so much...

Oh my goodness. Open from 9am to 3am, you can stop by for some nice warm cookies served with milk or ice cream pretty much any time of day. Or, for a small delivery fee, have it show up at your door until their last call at 2:45 am I can only imagine the evil genius behind this brilliant brilliant concept.

I used to love insomnia cookies, but this one is terrible. The cookies are never warm and never seem fresh.

I can't give this place a high enough rating. 1 billion trillion gagillion out of 5 if possible…read more My brother and I came here saturday morning after a run since it's been on the hitlist for a while. Possibly best decision we made all year. We literally came back and spun the block for round 2 sunday morning to show our dad, the kind staff can attest to this! The first day we went with the brisket sandwich on a plain biscuit, and sausage on an everything. Both were 10/10, and both of us thought we had the better sandwich and made it a competition to prove each other wrong somehow. We both had a bite of each and thought these could quite easily be the best breakfast sandwich we've ever had. They are genuinely that good. Now, onto the even crazier parts (the cinnamon roll). We got a box of pastries of course. The fluffernutter roll, cinnamon roll, chocolate chip cookie, and the zucchini chocolate chip loaf. Best cinni roll we've ever had, hands down Fluffernutter was as good as it sounds, also a 10/10 As a chocolate chip cookie veteran, this one is decent. 6-7/10, I'd stick with getting the rolls personally The little zucchini loaf joint was good too, I've never had anything like that and it was like a good banana bread kinda deal (this probably isn't that helpful but all I know is that it tasted good man) Literally the next morning we ran it back to show Dad. Brother and I had to try the Bacon on plain next, and dad got the sausage. Again, best breakfast sandwich ever. Never had a biscuit this good, it's genuinely ridiculous. Got straight cinni rolls and the sticky bun this time. All hits no misses (that's for the married folks) I shall return with a vengeance
