I used to love this place. Whenever there was a gathering at work I would order a dozen of the warmest softest cookies from this place, along with a couple of brownies. Warm cookies, all the time! $1.35 for a warm cookie is the perfect sugar fix! Just like the other Insomnia Cookie shops I have been too the cookies are always served nice and warm. Today I tried the double chocolate mint for the first time and it was awesome. The edges were crispy and the rest was delicious gooey-ness. A couple times I found the cookies to be a little less gooey, as if they had been sitting in the warmer for too long. T hey offer a great variety of flavors such as M&M, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, white macadamia and others. The deluxe cookies are bigger, so a bit more money, but worth every penny. The s'mores deluxe is one of my favorites. In addition to milk, they have plenty of other beverages. I have to try the brownie next! read more

Hot cookies delivered late night? It's one of those, "why didn't I think of that" concepts. Cookies for college students, der. I stumbled upon this location after wandering around looking for dinner on my first night in town. I returned every day for a cookie. I even introduced one of the people I was working with to this place and we took afternoon cookie breaks. The cookies here are great, I especially liked the coconut pecan cookie which I ate about three of in the span of two days. The chocolate chunk is solid, but the double chocolate chunk was a bit too much for me. Sadly, not all Insomnia cookies are created equal. A few weeks later, I went to the State College, PA location and the cookies were far inferior and their cookies were cold in comparison. I am a very loyal insomnia lover and the past several times I have come to this insomnia it has been nothing but disappointing. There can only be 6 people in the store and we proceed to get kicked out at the beginning and then when we are waiting for our food but nobody else has to leave. My favorite is the double chocolate mint cookies, but the sugar and the chocolate chunk cookies are classics as well. Also, their 6/$6 and 12/$12 deals are great for after-bar munchies, especially since they close after the bars close. THESE COOKIES ARE DRUGGED. Just kidding, I got a six pack of two chocolate chunks, double chocolate mint, two oatmeal raisins and a peanut butter chip. I ate the chocolate chunk and double chocolate mint and my belly feels bloated and painfully full. Having said that, the cookies were warm and sweet, but had that machine-made texture to it. The double chocolate mint tasted borderline like toothpaste but the chocolate helped balance it out. Do not eat these cookies if you are on a low cal diet! I ordered two dozen cookies online for my son who is a student at Syracuse for his birthday. I was able to preorder, pick the date and time. The cookies were a big hit! We received a text when they went out for delivery. A little bit later I called the shop because we had a short window before he was leaving and the cookies had not arrived. The young man who answered was very friendly and helpful. He checked with the driver who had several deliveries. He would be dropping them off shortly. I let him know to call my son when they arrived because the building he was located in was pretty big. A short time later, my son texted that he had received the cookies and was sharing them in the office. Everyone loved them. After about five hours, called again and was told they tried to deliver but no one answered...they never called so I am positive that was a lie they told. Called again saying I still wanted the cookies AND double checked the phone number and address to make sure everything was correct, and it was. They said it was out for redelivery...waited over an hour...never got them. Either way I only live about ten minutes away walking distance so it should not take that long to arrive. This place usually has coupons and deals, so make sure you check before you head here. All In All, great cookies when warm. Be careful when you opt for delivery, because they may take 1 hour to get to you and the cookies are already slightly luke warm and slightly stale. Definitely have milked handy with you so you don't have to pay extra. I like to choose the smaller cookies over the large sized ones. The reason for that is because small cookies means more room for variety as opposed to eating the same cookies for a longer period of time. I enjoy anything chocolate so the double chocolate one hits the spot for me. Also definitely props to the butterscotch and original chocolate chip for taking honorable mentions. The prices are definitely that of Premium cookies, so don't expect Wegmans or other supermarket prices. read more

I love the cookies - the service, not so much. Twice now it's happened that I have ordered online in advance - far in advance (days ahead), but have received my cookie cake much later than the delivery time I had set. Most recently I ordered a cookie cake two days before I wanted it delivered at 9pm. When it came to 9pm on the day of the delivery I waited 25 minutes past 9 before calling to check on my order. When I called I was told that they had just taken it out of the oven! They still had to let it cool and frost it before they could send it out for delivery. I finally got my order and hour later. What was the point of ordering online in advance? It wasn't a busy Saturday or Friday night either - it was a Tuesday! Even if it was a busy night, they knew they had this order to be delivered at 9, I can understand ten or fifteen-minute delay, but this is ridiculous. This was not the first time it had happened either - a similar incident happened months before which I had let go but it's annoying when they waste my time again. Standing in here wishing I didn't come in :) Was told to hang on while the cashier counted the drawer - no problem, I wanted to look at the menu anyway. But uh, then I was pretty much blown off. And then one of the co-workers started dropping F bombs. apparently I look like a pretty chill person because after they realized I'm in here they've just continued cussing at each other, complaining about their jobs, whining about wanting to go home, talking about how sick they are while dealing with food. I had to wait a few minutes for them to bake what I asked for because they didn't have it prepared, which wouldn't have been a problem if I didn't have to stand there and listen to some of the most miserable, rude, unprofessional employees of my life. I kind of hope they're all fired and put under new ownership to be honest. Cookie is pretty good, although it's plastered to the bag since they gave it to me straight from the oven.
