Brought in a pair of hand-made leather boots for new heels. Not a cheap repair but well worth it. The shop is a one-man show, and the contents and 'organization' of the interior are as eccentric as he is! Piles of luggage, shoes, vintage leather jackets, even musical instruments spill out over the shelves and bins, with better merchandise squirreled away in a side room that only the owner can access. I almost bought a used clarinet with many extras and a beautiful case for $30. You'll be hard-pressed to leave with just your perfectly-repaired shoes. read more

5 stars for Sammy he is now going to be my go to guy if I need to shorten any more of my handbag straps. I had a Chanel bag that I wanted to shorten the strap on but I was afraid nobody would be able to do it and still make it look as it did originally, but Sammy was willing to work with me (literally) he let me stay and watch him to make sure he did it correctly and didn't damage my bag. I am very happy with how my bag looks now. It looks like nothing was ever done, but my strap is shorter as I wanted! Also there is convenient parking across the street from his shop which is another plus for me. I will definitely go to Sammy again. read more

This guy is a true craftsman. He did a great job repairing an Italian leather purse and my favorite heels. Quality work.

New customer with 2 pairs of shoes in bad need of attention: one pair slip-on $$$$ thin leather italian boots, the other Fluevog dress shoes with chipped heel. Both needed new outer bottom soles; the boots needed heel sole as well. Sammy insisted on at least a deposit, if not full payment in advance. That is not what I'm used to, but I had cash so I paid up-front, and told him I was not in a hurry. Got a call in 10 days, shoes & boots were ready. I picked them up, and was very impressed. New soles seamlessly attached; chipped heel smoothed down and repaired; both polished to a nice finish, in a way to minimize places where the leather was actually cut/torn. Like most shoe repair places, it is not super fancy inside, but Sammy did an excellent job at a price comparable to getting them done elsewhere (prev. work, another place in Allston). read more

Customer service 0 He doesn't care what the customer's needs are, just making money for a extremely poor job. I took my shoes there and pick them up on the same condition and he claimed it look better, what a joke! It was very insulting the fact that I tried explaining that he did not do his job but he kept raising his voice and been all defensive. Not worth the try...don't bother. I brought three pairs of boots (very worn, my faves) to this guy to have the heel tips fixed, and not only was it affordable ($10 each) and fast (3 days turnaround time) they came out looking excellent -- much better than expected actually. Well worth the trip! Also, there is plenty of metered parking out front and around the corner if you're driving to drop off/pick up. read more
