We rented two units here to store a truck and a specialized trailer used for wildfire response. We…read morechose this facility because it was marketed as secure. At some point over the last couple of months, someone was able to access the property and steal our truck and trailer, undetected. Both were eventually recovered by police, but the trailer was completely ransacked. Everything of value was taken, including the generator. The equipment they couldn't remove was destroyed in the process. What's just as concerning is what happened after. When we asked for access to the security footage, we were told we would need a court order to see it. No cooperation, no urgency, not even a "I'm sorry this happened to you". Just a wall of defensiveness. They keep calling to cancel our spaces. They just want us gone so they can pretend they don't have a serious problem at the core of their business. It's not secure! While filing the police report, the officer told us this storage facility is notorious for theft. If you're storing anything you actually care about, I would seriously think twice.

They gave me half…read moreoff my first month and then my rent went to regular price fine yes I agree to that sounds good. A few months later I get on disability due to a slip and fall. Me being a good customer trying to hold my end of the deal up. I send my boyfriend over there to make a payment for me because I had not received my disability check. He does so next month comes and he comes to my house and says hey your storage place charged me $257. I said what no way why you paid it last month right? Yes I did. He says well what did they charge you $129 ok let me call and see what the problem is I call over there. Low and behold the woman was extremely rude yelling in my ear, sir. You gotta put your pin code in. I said go ahead and finish up that customer. I'll call back. She says no no I'm done helping him she continue to scream to him from the telephone in my ear and then when I says OK are you sure you don't want me to call back no ma'am give me your unit number. I said I don't have my unit number. I don't even know what it is to be honest with you. I just put my stuff in there and I don't even go there often. OK give me your name. Can you break it down to me and let me know why the storage unit went from 129 to 257 and how come nobody called me and let me know. And why did you go ahead and charge his card again that was really embarrassing for me. I just asked him to do it that one time until my check came, and then they were taking it out again without even asking I was so embarrassed and then to be doubled in price. I freaked out. I said oh shit what the hell why would it go up that much? She said ma'am we sent you an email stating the prices were gonna be raised I said the prices we're gonna be raised and doubled and I said I don't have access to my email man can you send me something along the lines of a text or in the mail? Oh no, that will cost three dollars extra. Well You don't have a problem sending me it if I am a little late. If the payment does not come out of my account that same day, they text you three or four times that day and the next day no five day grace period. No nothing they bug you till they get the damn payment, that's why I sent him the first time their money hungry they bug you on the day. Your payment is due if your payment does not come out of your account automatically and then they double your rent with just a freaking email and then the lady says oh no no no I'm not gonna listen to this and then hangs up on me girl I just listen to you yelling in my ear for two minutes to another customer that's not professional. I offered to hang up and call back so you could finish helping the man and then you wanna get on me cause I'm freaking out saying oh shit what the hell you tell me somebody on disability how they can just have their whole life in a storage unit and then just get an email saying that your rents getting doubled. How in the heck am I supposed to go over there? Get my stuff out with a broken back and now move it to a new place. I can't afford to pay movers to do that for me now I am stuck paying this payment I will never ever ever ever ever ever. Use them again. Refer anybody to them or go back to them again it is the worst experience I have ever had in my life.

Diana, the manager, is incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. The units are clean with tall ceilings, there's great accessibility (including handicap parking), and you can drive right up to the roll-up doors to unload. Highly recommend! Now for the full breakdown: A+ Service and Facility -- Highly Recommend! I can't say enough good things about US Storage Centers in Harbor City -- especially Diana, the manager. She's friendly, patient, and goes the extra mile to make things easy and stress-free. Diana physically walked me through each unit I was interested in so I could see the actual space -- incredibly helpful! If I ever find the unit too big or too small, I can switch to a different size when I need to, so I'm not locked into a space that doesn't work for me. The facility itself is pristine -- spotless elevators, hallways, and storage units, no bugs, and regular pest control. Occupants can use the office bathroom during office hours, and there's a porta-potty outside for after-hours use. There are no trash cans in the storage areas (which I understand!), so I recommend bringing your own trash container if you need to sort through things. (But puh‑LEASE be a good neighbor and don't leave perishable items behind!) Security is solid -- each customer gets their own gate code, and the perimeter -- which to this civilian seems military grade -- is no joke! They are strict about occupants being out 15 minutes before closing to avoid a gate unlock fee, which is totally fair. (Pro Tip: set yourself an alarm!) The whole place feels extremely safe, even if accessing alone. Storage access is excellent, including for those with mobility differences: you can drive right up to either the individual drive-up units or the building that contains the smaller interior units, which also has a very tall roll-up door for easy unloading. (But again, let's be good neighbors and park there only long enough to unload, then move to another spot so others can do the same -- it's a shared space, not a private driveway.) There are designated handicap parking spaces right next to the roll-up door and directly in front of the office. That means the world to me -- my dad uses a Veloped Trek all-terrain walker (he even used it to walk marathons at age 73!), and those spaces made it a cinch for him to help me unload things. If you're curious, the type he uses:" is the Veloped Trek -- available online or through Trionic USA in Glendale, CA. The roll-up doors to the building and units make it simple to store tall items, and the ceilings inside the storage units are at least 8 feet high -- plenty of vertical space to stack and organize. Heavy-duty dollies (like the ones at home improvement stores) are also available -- just ask during office hours and leave your ID to borrow the key. This location doesn't offer climate-controlled units, but Diana manages other locations and will guide you if that's what you need. The contract is month-to-month, prorated if you move in mid‑month, and you can sign up for paperless communication plus add an emergency contact. I stumbled upon this place on a day I was overwhelmed (needing to empty my truck so I could help my parents the next day), and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. I walked out with peace of mind -- and a place to store all my extra stuff! Huge thanks to US Storage Centers -- and especially to Diana, who sets the gold standard for customer service! We were customers here for three and a half years which in the long run didn't matter to them at all. We rented an 5x10 unit from early 2021 to late 2024. At the beginning we were being charged $150 per month but by the end it was over $330 per month for the SAME unit (that we took great care of). Without getting too ranty, they constantly raised our rent and even fully charged us for our last month (Dec.'24) even though we had checked out by the 3rd day of that month. I attempted to contact the site manager, district manager, and customer service about the last months rent but was ghosted after many, many phone calls. They passed the buck between the three and NO ONE really helped us out. Here's the skinny, it gets extremely hot inside the building during the summer and very cold in the winter. The cold isn't too bad but in the peak of summer we couldn't even go in, it was that hot! The office is always closed and if you need something you MUST make an appointment via email. Extremely frustrating when you have a quick question or just want to pop in for supplies. If we didn't live two blocks away we wouldn't of stayed for as long as we did but in the end they really didn't appreciate our business at all. I've also attached photos so you can see the rate increases over the time we were regrettably there. I could go on but thinking about our time there brings back bad feelings and I'm trying to just forget it ever happened. Stay away or stay only for a month or two if you must because there is nothing worth staying longer than that.
