I really liked the service and workers here. Now it is obvious that management is not doing their job anymore. You were supposed to walk in and get greeted - didn't happen! Ask about what service you wanted or about your appointment. After waiting 5 minutes a lady asked me while doing someone else's nails (still no manager or host). Workers standing around doing nothing but don't help the customer! They have always offered a drink. Drink machines not on, water is room temp not cold like it's supposed to be. My toe lady was on her phone the entire time talking or texting and then stole the tip from the nail lady. This is the 2nd time I have caught her doing it!!! I even made a point about it to the manager while he sat on the bench and just smiled and did nothing!!! After the toe lady, made me bleed, didn't listen to what I wanted, and was on the phone - she didn't deserve her tip or the nail ladies but flat out stole it!!! I have been continuing to give this place more chances but I am done! They are not maintaining it, running it the way they should and as other people have mentioned it is not clean!!! read more

This place is a fairly new place in Plano. It is in the same Plaza as Market Street. The decor of the place is real nice. It is very spacious too and the people are friendly. I went here because I had a manicure done at Polished and the color was coming off only after two days! So I found this place after going to Market Street. I just happened to go on a Wednesday. The have happy hours Monday-Wednesday. 10%-20% off all services, and Thursday-Sunday 10% off spa/signature combo and 20% off aroma/heavenly combo. They definately had better colors to choose from and better quality nail polish. I paid a little less than $17 to get a color change on both my hands and my feet. It was great!!! read more

Finaaaaaally a fantastic Manicure in Texas!!!!!!!!!!! I think this may have been the best manicure of my life!!! And yes, I am a mani/pedi connoisseur! LOL Any who came to this nail salon by chance driving in the Plano area determined to find a decent gel manicure somewhere...I saw Instyle and decided to give it a try. The place is GORGEOUS and spotless!! I was greeted with a smile, choice of beverage (including wine), and seated with Jenny immediately. The manicure was flawless. I explained to Jenny that the last place I went to get a gel manicure had left me disappointed when it started to chip within 2 days and she said she would "deep fry" the polish in lol. After my nails had dried I received an unexpected treat, a very relaxing shoulder, neck, hand, and head massage. It was utter perfeeeeection!!!! The $35 price tag was reasonable for the work, and I only wish I would have had time for a Pedicure which looked absolutely heavenly!!! First off, this place is HUGE. It looks pretty nice on the inside and the seats are comfortable, but 2 of my girlfriends and I came in one afternoon to get mani/pedis. They have a large selection of nail polish, which took us some time to sift through. We finally made our selections but then we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get a spot together! They provided beverages of our choice (we picked water). They offered milk too, which I thought was funny. The staff was friendly but the wait was just unbearable. Even after we had been in our chairs enjoying the chair massage and gabbing away, we noticed that ANOTHER 30 minutes had passed by. My feet were pruney and you could actually see a distinct difference in the color of my skin from where my shins were in the water. The soaked part of my legs were puffy and white! GROSS. My fingers were also complete white raisins. All three of us were sitting in cold water by the time someone started working on us. At this point, I had already gone through 2 entire chair massage programs from start to finish... getting bored at this point. I don't know about my friends but I also started getting cabin fever... you can't be in enclosed spaces for so long breathing in all the fumes. It starts to mess with your head. By the time our fingers and toes were done, the results varied. I enjoyed the way mine looked as did one of my friends. My other GF said it was sloppy and by the time she got home, it was ruined. So she took it all off herself. What a waste! I think the cheapest mani/pedis I've gotten were $30. This was about $35+ and we begrudgingly gave a decent tip. While the quality of the work on my nails was decent, it was NOT worth 3 hours of my times... SERIOUSLY? And my poor friend... she wasted that money just for one afternoon and took it off by the next day. I will say that the quality of work was good but the wait time was too much for me. I will think twice before coming back here... our wait time may have been an anomaly but I'd rather not risk it. First off, let me say that I walked in with pretty high expectations because of the high ratings that other yelpers gave this salon. Let's start with the positives... It is beautiful inside, lots of colors to choose from (polish and gel) and the acrylic job that Linda did on my nails was satisfactory, she even listened when I asked her to cut my nails very short (I barely like any nail to hang over the tip and most people don't listen). Now on to the negatives... Vivian did my Mom's nails. They look nice but she was VERY rough with the drill and cut/hurt my Mom several different times. I was not offered a beverage (as their website says they offer and other yelpers have been offered, as well), and some people mentioned a surprise massage and I did not receive that either. Both of my Mom's polish and mine bubbled. My polish was applied sloppily (the second coat does not cover the whole nail (especially near the cuticles) so you can see the polish is thicker in some spots. FINALLY... My Mom and I went on a Monday when they supposedly offer 10-20%. Well, conveniently so, that offer does not include acrylics. NO WHERE on their website, nor on the building, on the menu, etc... does it say this. It just says "10-20% off services Mon-Wed". That leads me to believe that if someone went in for a gel manicure maybe conveniently the discount doesn't include gel manicures...? I would call that false advertisement. And here we are three days later and one of my nails has chipped. I will be returning to Instyle to get it repaired (I would go somewhere else, but I used one of their (non OPI) polishes so I have to go back there). Maybe this experience will be better. I came in on a Wednesday afternoon to get my nails done for my boyfriend's and my company Christmas parties for the weekend. I had called prior to arriving to make sure they had the nexgen gel nails where you dip your hand into the powder and the cost of this service. I was told yes, and that it would be $35 for 1 color and $40 for two colors. About 20-30 minutes later, I arrived and was given a whole basket of color swatches to choose from. I was rather amazed at the color selection for this "dip nails". I chose my color and was seated quickly as a lady came to do my nails. In front of their salon, there is a bold sign that says nail services are 20% off on Monday-Wednesday during "happy hour", which I was a customer during that time. The service was fine, the lady was a bit chatty, but I did like that she checked to make sure the shape of my nails were "even". At the end, I was satisfied with my service, so I handed her my credit card to pay. But this is where things went downhill and... very fast!! I get my card and a receipt back that needs my signature and I see the total is $40. What? Didn't the guy who answered the phone tell me $35 for one color? And with the happy hour discount, shouldn't it have been a few dollars less? She did not ever tell me a total nor did she ask if I would like to add a tip (there was even a line for it). I really didn't want to make a big scene or a big deal so I added a $5 tip and left pretty ticked off that I was just basically ripped off by this lady. Once I get outside, I see how awful of a job my nails really are. They are not smooth and even across my nail. It's ridgy, bumpy and totally uneven. AWFUL JOB on top of just being shady and ripping me off... Warrants a yelp review for the world to know how shady the business/workers are!!! (And this is the first time I've ever been so upset that I made an account for something to write a review, so that's saying something...) This actually isn't the first time I've been to Instyle. I came here once several months ago for a pedicure... And the nail tech I had gotten was so busy trying to flirt with me my pedicure was mediocre at best. Definitely not what they were charging me for it! Anyway, after all is said and done, this is definitely a nice salon with a good selection of colors. This is the first time I came to this shop. In general, their staff are friendly. I was serviced by Tiffany and Jasmine. Jasmine is a quiet girl with a friendly smile. Tiffany is friendly and talkative. I like Tiffany massage...really relief all my pains!!! If you can afford it, go all the way for whatever you're getting done because the wax, scrubs, extra massages and all are so worth it. InStyle is spacious and clean...you don't get knocked down by nail polish and acrylic nail fumes+++ for that! Pretty disappointing experience...I had a manicure and pedicure here on Saturday, then on Tuesday the polish on one of my nails completely fell off in one big chunk! The top half of the polish on my big toe also chipped off. I would expect my polish to AT LEAST last through the week! This is after I had to point out to my manicurist that she completely missed painting all the way to the edge of my nails. I think the polish falling off was due to her not cleaning all the oil off my nails, but they should know better. read more

*Warning* Do not get the "powder" gels here. I did it 3 times. Each time my nails got worse and worse and worse. By the 3rd set, they were nearly impossible to get off. I went to another salon to have them removed all together - they soaked for an HOUR in straight acetone and they still couldn't get them off without intense drilling and filing... ouch! What was left was so damaged and rough that they couldn't even be painted. Although they looked pretty while they lasted (I opted for the powder gels so I wouldn't need to put my hands in the UV machines), they certainly were not worth the damage and the horrible process to have them removed. Also, with each set the quality looked worse and worse. By the third time they looked terrible before I even left the salon! Hopefully their normal gel or shellac is better or less damaging. read more

Went there for the first time last week for a pedi, mani and eyebrow wax. it was probably just my luck at getting whoever that did my manicure & eyebrow wax - I could tell she wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing. went home and looked in the mirror and saw i still need to pluck my eyebrows. and she applied way too many coats of nail polish on my hands to cover up some smudges which led to the whole manicure falling apart within hours. my pedicure was great though. but i would not go there again. read more

The main reason I tried this place out of the hundreds of other places in plano, was because I had heard they did the dip gel nails. I really wanted to try it before our big trip overseas and boy am I glad I did. As a novice to dip gel, I was extremely fascinated with the entire process. Previously wrote a great review but now changing it. This is the FIRST time ever that my french mani has started d peeling off within hours of getting one. They look absolutely terrible. Never going here again! ---previous review -- Had Ann and Jasmine - very nice and professional. Ann did a great little design on my finger - just what I had requested. I basically got a French mani pedi on a Thursday afternoon. They did push all their fancy services a bit but I opted for the regular. Mani was 13.50, Pedi was 27, French was 10 for both, and the little design on one finger was 3. Total was 53.50. It was a bit more than I wantes to spend but I also don't get French all the time so it was fine. Biggest pro was that they can do mani Pedi at the same time! Con - My only complaint is that the decor is pretty old fashioned - having moved from Chicago, this kind of interior seems pretty norm here. Also, they do that have magazines by the side of the chairs for you to grab. read more

I've been going to Instyle for the past 6 years on and off. They have, most of the time, been super sweet, great service and quality....But the quality went down last year. Then ownership changed. Guys, this place is amazing now!! Vin, the new owner will really work with you. A real "human person". I barely ever make an appointment, and though they're busy, they always seem to be able to squeeze me in. I did make an appointment last time, because I wanted to be able to take my mom for mother's day, and sit next to her and have Thomas do his magic on my nails. Both my mom and I left very satisfied. I think the guy did for me the heavenly pedi. I got the gel nail with Amy because my friend referred her to me. She is nice but I was not satisfied with her work. They looked ok but some missing on the side of some nails when she finished my nail, but they were chipped off and cracked couple days later and wondered why??? I went there on saturday and the salon was really busy. I think because of turning over on clients so fast therefore she didn't focus on doing my nails. But, each time, they have been kind, prompt, accommodating, and overall exceptional in their service and perfect services. Yes, they have a wide menu of services. The first time I went, I was spending a gift certificate. I was very happy with the service I received! Returned today for a pedicure only. Since it is such a rare indulgence for me, I chose the pedi just under the top of the line one in their "menu." I loved the wine (although, served a bit warm for June in TX). The cool neck wrap was wonderful. Mary was my tech and she took longer than the listed 50 minutes. I finally found my go-to nail salon! I got the aromatherapy pedicure, which was wonderful. My tech Lisa gently convinced me to try a gel manicure and I am very satsified so far. I also got my eyebrows waxed and Lisa made sure she knew exactly the shape I wanted before she started, and was very meticulous. I went on a Wednesday, so my nail services were 20% off.
