Came to Star Nails on a weekday afternoon and had such a great experience. There's plenty of parking, and it wasn't too busy when I arrived, which made everything feel super relaxed and welcoming. The staff and owners are honestly some of the friendliest people ever...so warm and kind, it really had that mom-and-pop feel that's hard to come by these days. They were patient while I picked a color, made sure everything was clean and hygienic, and worked efficiently without rushing. I really appreciated that they took the time to double check that I liked everything before finishing up. What really stood out was how they treated my friends who came with me. Even though they weren't getting anything done, they were offered drinks and made to feel just as welcome. Little things like that go a long way. Definitely one of those places you leave feeling better than when you walked in. Would absolutely come back. read more

My wife and I were going to get a Mani / Pedi at the usual Nail Salon that we have going to for the last 7 years. we walked in without an appointment. The Manager told us to come back later. I then remembered having a conversation with my doctor's Nurse earlier in the week and she told me about Star Nails. We went in and were greeted politely. The man said "Yes we can take you now." We experienced one of the best mani / pedi services ever. The place is very nice, music was nice and service was over the top. We have now found our Go To nail salon. I was charged for acrylic big toes and only one toe had acrylic on it, and it looks tacky. The actual pedicure was wonderful but what I asked for was not executed and I decided to just get regular paint. I felt they didn't know how to do what I wanted after explaining numerous times. I wasn't going to argue with old lady in there but charging more for not doing what you say was done is insane to me. Don't come here if you want quality results. Poor service all together. Facility sign states open but door is locked. Double checked to verify business hours and they are for sure open but I will not spend my hard earnings here & best believe word of mouth carries & I will definitely make sure my girls do not do any business at this location. I was extremely satisfied with Annie's work, she was polite and always asked if I was happy, or if I needed a drink. She had quite a lot of customers to get to, so she was quick but still so detailed and focused. Although I feel it was over priced, I'm glad she values her work. i had an interesting experience today at star nails. i was handed menu to choose services from and asked for deluxe pedicure like i always do. menu still listed collegen wrap and hot stone massage. the only nail tech in shop proceeded to give me a basic pedicure (no wrap, no stones, shorter massage) so i figured he misunderstood me. as i started to check out he told me price of deluxe and i stated he had done basic without hot stones. he said price was correct and they didn't have hot stones any longer. finally he said ok pay basic price. then he said "I HOPE I DON'T SEE YOU NEXT TIME" he won't! read more

I decided to try out a new salon and choose Star nails. The employees are really short with you. I asked if he could file my nails down and replied no I will do it later. I kept asking if they could use hot water for my pedicure and they still continued with cold water. The lady was going to cut my toenails but I just asked if she could file them and she threw the nails clippers and started speaking in her native language to her coworker. I was shocked got up put my socks and shoes. The other employee spoke rudely and with a tone with my friend. We decided to leave. I would not recommend it. They have no sense of customer service or making you feel welcome. It's not about the money I don't care I will pay whatever it's the Quality of the service. Would not recommend them. read more

I came in today to get a full set and a pedicure. I started off with a pedicure and after my pedicure went to get acrylics. The lady doing my acrylics was crying, I tried to ignore it because I don't know what's going on in her life. After putting on my acrylics and cutting to length she gave me a price point she told me my total for my acrylic nails was going to be $80. I asked why so much and she said for the length, the shape, and the gel nail polish. The gel would've been an extra $20, so I asked her to do regular nail polish instead. She kind of got rude and told me that it wouldn't last as long and I told her that was fine I didn't really care I just don't wanna be charged an extra $20. Cause she put one of the acrylic nails on kind of crooked and I asked her before she started busting it out to fix it and she told me she couldn't because my nail was crooked. She couldn't fix my cricket know if my finger was crooked. Keep in mind the woman was still crying as this is happening. So I asked her if I could just leave I didn't feel comfortable I didn't like her crooked finger comment. I have radial nerve palsy so I mean I can't help the way my hands look. I told her I would pay for my pedicure and for my acrylics but since they weren't fully done and we settled on a price that was half off. So she charged me $63. I handed her my card and right before she put my card in she bumped up the price to $78. I tried to grab my card from her and she yanked it out of my hand. I told her the only way I'm paying that price is if you finish it. But I don't feel comfortable the way we're working right now. I just want my acrylics fixed and I don't want the attitude and you're crying and I just feel awkward. She would not give me my card back until I left. I'm not too sure what was happening with her. Absolutely wonderful! Zach did my NexGen, and it was phenomenal. He is a perfectionist with his craft, and you can tell by his work. My NexGen was "thick" walking in, and I left my with a "natural" set (you know, I can actually pick things up off surfaces ) They were following all guidelines to ensure a safe experience for their customers; limited occupancies, plexiglass between client/technician, and Zach was wearing a face shield himself with mandatory sanitizing before your appointment and after. With all of the COVID precautions in place I didn't feel my service was compromised in the slightest and there wasn't an up charge. I will definitely be back to see Zack and support our Plano businesses! read more

Annie did such a fantastic job on my nails! The shape is perfect, all even in length just how it should be. I'm very picky when it comes to my hands and she nailed it! Her mom did a great job on my toes and the massage almost made me fall asleep it was so relaxing. I got french tip on my toes and nails while sipping on my dr pepper they gave me and they look absolutely stunning.
