This was the rudest nail salon I've ever been to. I will never ever go back. I had this money grubbing girl doing my nails constantly trying to get me to pay more for other ads ons and services. I said no thanks. About 5 times. She would not stop. I just wanted to relax and she would not stop yapping & giggling about spending more money. She said " I remember you" which was completely false- I had never been there nor do I even live in the area. Truly. Trust me. Then at the end she was eager to get paid. There is a big sign that says no tips on credit cards. She asked did I want to tip her on the credit card. Seriously?!!! Tip stands for " top in performance". I am a new comer in this area, traveler to Virginia. I was looking for a new location closer to the place I stayed, so I tried this place for a whim. I honestly wish I would have just saved my time and money and gone to my old salon. I called a head of time and booked a pink fill and pedicure. When I got there, they kept me waited about 5 minutes, not bad. My tech was fantastic. She was very friendly, very nice, and sweet even she spoke with an accented; I think her name is Bo. I had picked out a sparkly red polish and she let me knew that it needed an undercoat color instead of just letting have mostly clear with some sparkle on my nails. She was nice, friendly, honesty and thorough. I think, her name is Bo, I highly recommend her Bo. She did a great job on my crazy toes and nails. Absolutely amazing gel manicure! I was worried about getting my nails done too early before my wedding, but they assured me that the gel manicure would last at least two weeks... It's been 17 days now...through the wedding and two-week honeymoon with the only issue being that my nails are growing too fast! Ladies...And Gentlemen!! This place may have been the best pedicure I have ever had!! Tons of massages and I almost drifted off a couple of times. The people are super friendly and great at what they do. The other thing I loved about this place is that everyone spoke in English and their attention was on the client and not carrying on conversations with each other. My best friend accompanied me and had a Mani/Pedi that was equally as amazing. The pedicure chairs offer one of the most blissful massages I have ever had by a machine, and the staff is constantly making sure you are comfortable. They were also super clean and offered pipeless pedicure systems (no cross contamination!!). If If you are looking for a cheap chop shop this is NOT your place, but if you are spa savvy the prices are dirty cheap for the quality!! read more

Can't say I would recommend to a friend. They had really nice decor, nice chairs, and they were friendly, but service was not great. My daughter asked for custom nail art, which the artist happily agreed to do, and it was absolutely awful. She was pressured into shellac. I had a pedicure and was pressured into a manicure and then shellac. Okay, I get it, most places pressure for up charges... But my shellac was really uneven, my mani was not great, and a few days later the shellac is just peeling off in sheets (shellac is supposed to last for two weeks). Not impressed! read more

Pedicure was perfect. However I asked for the SNS powered nail color system and that was a mistake. They do not have a color search for these colors so I ended up with an almost translucent color. The tech dipped my nails twice in the see through color thinking it would get darker, but it didn't. Then another tech recommended layering another color that looked darker. It's still pretty translucent. I've seen these colors on other people and they look fabulous. I don't know if it was the application or if it was the color selection since there is no sample. I'm also concerned about having three layers of the product on my nails. It feels heavy. read more

I never go out of my way to write negative reviews, but my experience here was so infuriating that I had to. Before making an appt I reached out to the salon with a reference photo and asked them if they could replicate the nails. I was told that they could and so I went ahead with the appointment. When I sat in the chair the nail tech took one glance at the photo and never looked at it again which would've been fine had he given me what I was asking for but the nails I ended up with vaguely resembled the reference picture at best. In addition to them not being the design that I had asked for the nails were all wildly different lengths and shapes. I got this set done a little over a day ago and 3 nails are already lifting, one has completely popped off and the acrylic on the thumb nail is splitting from the tip that was put on. On top of this being the possibly the worst quality set of nails I have ever gotten, they are also the most expensive at $90. For that much money I would expect them to last most than a day and a half! read more

I usually call in to get an appointment with the technician that I like the best (it would be Lee right now as Kevin, Ivy and Dina are no longer at this location). The only reason I gave them one star is that they have a nice selection of nail polish. I am visiting from out of town and found them on yelp. They seemed to have good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I showed up when they opened today in hopes that they would not be too busy at opening time. When I walked in and asked if they could do a manicure pedicure they said they could take me right away and asked me to pick out a color. They sat me in a nice chair with soaking bubbles. Seemed great. 45 minutes later and when my foot water was cold they told me it would only be 15 more minutes. Looking around at the other customers and the fact that none of them were near a polish stage, I knew it would take even longer. And if they did come to me, they'd be making a person mid way through manicure wait. I dried my feet and walked out. Bottom line is that they lied when I came in and acted as if they could take me right away. I would not have minded waiting. It just really bothers me when salon owners lie about the wait time to get you in the door. I took my $50 elsewhere. read more

This salon is under new ownership. I liked it before and I still like it now. The new owner has a son who mans the 'reception' desk. He is so pleasant and makes you feel more at home than most salons I've been to. Ana (the new owner) does a nice job with eyebrow waxing and I recently trusted her with a fill....something I don't often do since I have a different nail girl I am very loyal to. But my nail girl was out of the country and Ana did a great job in her absence! I loved the end result - it just took her about three times longer to complete than my normal nail girl; which is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. When I get my hands done I usually want to get in and out as quickly as I can without sacrificing quality. (with my typical nail girl this can be done in 30 minutes easily) It was about an hour and half with Ana - although I'll repeat I was pleased with the end result. They need better/new pedicure chairs. In contrast to when I get a fill/manicure....when I get a pedicure I like for the technician to take her time. It's a bit indulgent for me to get a pedicure and so I like it to last a while vs being rushed through. It's been hit or miss on my pedicures here. Never 'bad' though. Either good or very good! I'll continue to go to InStyle Nails Spa for pedicures, waxing and the occasional fill when my usual nail technician is out of town. And I recommend others try them out too! Went here about ten days ago and got a gel manicure. Unfortunately, I didn't get the gentleman's name who did my nails but he was really good. Did exactly what I asked and was friendly and personable. My manicure is still beautiful! Not a single crack and isn't even lifting from cuticle which seems to always happen to me at other places inside of one week!! Very pleased with quality. My only con is that the hand/arm massage was really quite short. Will def try again though. read more

I have gotten a gel manicure on my own nails since it came out and every other place has either done a terrible paint job or has ruined my nails. I wish yelp allowed no stars, one is being generous. My sister in law and I went in for pedicures and manicures (I got a gel, she got SNS). The pedicures were fine although rushed and very rough. My gel manicure turned out looking really nice, but the gentleman doing the manicure was incredibly rough with my hands along the way. I had to pull my hand away and bend my arm in different directions as he twisted my thumb. My sister in law had a very different experience. What seemed like halfway through her manicure, the lady doing her nails left to work on someone else's acrylics. After we had been sitting for a while, I asked if the manicure was done and she said yes. Her SNS nails looked like the were covered in sand and all of her finger tips were died red. When she expressed that she was not happy with the manicure, she was told that normally it was done in a different way, which is why it did not turn out right and that she could come back the next day to get it fixed. She agreed and said she would pay for her pedicure now and the nails the next day and was trying to make an appointment to come back. As we tried to explain further, multiple technicians began yelling at her to sit down to get it fixed or come back the next day but she had to pay now. The technician who helped her also kept changing the total amount due. Ten minutes in to the conversation she paid for her toes and we left. Needless to say, no one deserves to be treated that way and no one should be forced to pay top dollar for a service that was not completed. We will not be back and we do not recommend that anyone try this place for themselves. read more

Today I went here for the third time in the last three years. It looks nice,but looks are deceiving. I had a so so pedi the first time and didn't feel like I ever want to go back there.Then a few years later I had an injury,couldn't drive,so I asked my ride to drop me off there because it was close. I had a very expensive and beautiful powder mani done. Today I wanted a gel color change,my color needed to be soaked off. She filed way to much on my natural nail bed,got distracted and started shortening one of my nails furiously. I was reprimanded more than a few times because my stiff joint on my thumb didn't move like she wanted(wtf). She tried to tell me repeatedly that she couldn't paint my nails nice because I didn't want the mani too.I never have my cuticles cut,hate to have that done and don't need it. After a very long 1.5 hrs there I was done. The cost was $9 more than quoted,not sure what the reason was,she mumbled something when I asked. She put some of the charge on my credit card and said she forgot to add the other charge,to just add that amount plus a tip on the tip line. Very strange business practice that left a sour taste in my mouth. This will be the last time I am ever setting foot in there again! read more
