I was a former long-time patient of a practice that Integrated Aesthetic Dentistry acquired and I came in to see them for a routine tooth cleaning (the appointment was actually with my previous Dr). In addition to the cleaning, they gave me thorough visual evaluation, and x-rays and although I found the cost to be relatively high, but I recognized that this covered more than just a cleaning, so I proceeded with paying. Subsequently, they recommended a second visit for a deeper cleaning, which was performed not by a dentist, but by their dental hygienist. To my astonishment, the invoice for this visit was twice the amount of my initial visit -- and at quadruple what is a reasonable charge. I would not have gone had I been informed that the fee would be $1,100... for a cleaning. I would not have agreed to this treatment as I only discovered this after the hygienist was finished and I was billed. I never experienced this issue my preivous dentists, in the 15-20+ years that I was their patient. I never needed to inquire about the charges before service was performed as their charges were always reasonable . Deeply concerned about the billing, I attempted to reach out to their office to discuss the matter numerous times. I left messages via phone calls (three times) and text messages (three times) without receiving any response. Effective communication is crucial in any professional relationship, especially in health care. The lack of response to my multiple attempts to discuss my concerns about the exorbitant invoice reflects a lack of courtesy and responsiveness that I find disheartening. It also concerns me that should I require emergency service I would be unable to receive it. As a conscientious consumer, I could not justify continuing with a dental service that not only grossly overcharges its patients but also fails to address their concerns in a timely and respectful manner. This used to be my general dentist. But about a year ago I had throbbing pain in my head and I was concerned because I had a trip to Chicago coming. They did x-rays on my teeth and the dentist said all looks fine and I should have no trouble I got on the plane about time I got to Chicago. I was an incredible pain Which followed for the next three days until I was able to get painkillers from friends. I would never ever go back to this dentist. read more

I went to this dentist for several years, but it has become a money making enterprise. They do not tell you prior to service how much it will cost and when I cancelled upon finding out the price, I was charged a cancellation fee. They should be upfront about what they charge. I became an IAD patient by being a former patient of Dr. Greg Monterosso. IAD inherited Dr. Monterosso's practice. As soon as IAD took over Dr. Monterosso's practice, things changed, and not for the better. IAD decided to no longer accept CareCredit. I remember having this discussion with them over a year ago. At the time, they claimed they were "considering" it. Here we are, in July 2020, and they are still "considering" it. Still not accepting CareCredit. But their billing department helpfully let me know that they could re-direct me to a lender of their choice. I don't know what their reasons for no longer accepting CareCredit might be. CareCredit seems to be widely accepted. Dr. Monterosso certainly accepted it. Oh, and while at it: IAD now requires a signed pre-payment commitment for treatment. If you don't agree and commit to pre-pay, you can't get treatment, regardless of your insurance. Their justification: COVID-19. Greed. That's all there is to it. read more

I searched for this dentist with the engage app and the information listed was not correct. The dentist who was listed was actually not a part of that practice. I ended up getting my x-rays and a cleaning there anyway (for sure a mia culpa). I was first greeted by a kind person who would end up taking my x-rays and was greeted by Dr. Heindel who was absolutely lovely and took great care of my teeth. She informed me of what was necessary, and I kindly thanked her for her assistance. If you find that you have her in your network, do not hesitate to go to her, as she is top notch. Now, you're probably wondering why this rating is so low. Turns out that this dentist was not in network and I was not only charged for what is a standard free cleaning, but upon switching for an in network dentist, I was charged to retrieve my own dental records. The attitude I was met with when speaking with the office manager regarding the wording on the document releasing my records was questionable/confusing came with a snarky "Okay Karen." Now of course I am not unaware of the connotation, but I do not believe it was warranted in this circumstance. While it is true that a person could potentially have a bad day or a rough service interaction, it should be possible to engage with someone while in the service field without assuming that someone is trying to get over and perhaps may be seeking understanding. The interaction left me feeling like I was not a former patient but more like a $25 write off. If this was not bad enough- I wished both of the young ladies a great day despite the interaction and not an ounce of eye contact from the person I was speaking with was delivered upon exit. So in conclusion, to see Dr. Heindel and be taken care of in terms of dentistry was a pleasure; however at the front desk-prepare to be misunderstood if there's a bad day looming-Oh, and MAKE SURE THAT THE DENTIST IS IN NETWORK! read more

Mike and Caroline are exceptional, from the way they treat you, explain everything to their treatment. And even now, when my insurance doesn't cover them, I still go here. Best - dentists - ever. Dr. Barsoum and her team are knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I've already had two visits and from beginning to end the experience was pleasant. I was seen on time, the office is well kept, the best part receptionist gave me a print-out clearly stating my future co-pay amounts for every future visit. So no surprises, I love it! Dr. Barsoum's actual work?? Flawless! She is so skillful. I had a cavity in my front canine (so bad it almost needed a root canal) , the filling was so well done even when I show my tooth to people they cannot tell any work has been done. Dr. Caroline Barsoum is the best!!! I started seeing her almost two years ago, and upon my initial visit I hadn't been to the dentist in a very long time. I was terrified of visiting the dentist, due to a terrible previous experience. Dr. Barsoum treated me with respect, and was very patient and understanding. I also love that she really takes her time to explain to you what your options are, and what in her professional opinion is best, but absolutely never pressures you in to any unnecessary procedures. Both Dr. Barsoum and her staff are extremely pleasant and really seem to work hard to make each dental experience a positive one. Dr. Barsoum is by far the most thorough, gentle, understanding, patient dentist I have ever had...and my grandfather was my dentist for years! I am a very nervous dental patient, and she made me feel immediately at ease in the dental chair. I had to get a cavity filled, and it was the most well-executed and least painful experience that I have ever had. I also got my teeth whitened, and was thrilled with the results. Dr. Cafferella is a very good bedside manner, unfortunately nothing that he does or did for my treatment plan was ever in writing. So when he would add new information in his explanation of the treatment I was having. I grew concerned since it was not discussed prior. I have never been to a doctor where they did not document the treatment plan for the patient. This practice was the first. Some of the staff are nice and there are 1 or 2 that are quite rough and without proper professional etiquette. The worst part of the experience is the staff has been condescending, unprofessional, and the treatment plan was never put in writing (medical records, and treatment plan). After weeks of calling for this info, and receiving no response from the staff or dentist. I knew it was time to go, unfortunately the unprofessionalism continued when I asked for my medical records because they delayed beyond the HIPPA guidance. In the end go to a practice where the doctor is not only nice, but he is diligent in his care, transparent in his procedure, keeps great notes (med hx, and treatment plan) and his staff is respectful and follows HIPPA. This practice missed the mark and it was unfortunate, considering their prices arent cheap. Matter fact the only thing they do put in writing is how much you have to pay. I have been with this office before and after their recent renovation. At no point did I feel they really cared about me, rather they were very interested in selling me something every time I went in (Teeth whitening, invisalign, sonicare toothbrush, fluoride treatments). They don't offer the personal services of a small office or the sophistication of a large practice. read more
