These guys tried to sell me a used car. While promising that it was good to go for a highway trip,…read morethey disclosed the window that didn't roll down, moon roof that wouldn't open, and an ever so slight pull to the right. They left out that the check engine light was on, airbag light was on, A/C cut-out after 4 blocks, cracked windshield, trunk struts were dead, rear gate struts were dead (but they left behind a golf club to prop it up), and that the pull to the right ruin a set of tires before we got out of Texas. And worse ... on alerting them of these objectively verifiable problems that collectively make the car a "mechanics special" (beyond economic repair), they asserted that because they had a black man show it to me, I must not have liked it because I must be racist ... talk about gaslighting!

This was a strange one. I heard about this place on a lical board. My trans was on the blink…read more It's in Midlothian, and I usually don't go into Maga country. But I heard they used to be I-35 Transmission in Lancaster, so figured that if they were not owned by people of color, they were at least cool. It was slightly misting rain when I got there. I had my grandson in the back. So, I decided to call inside and maybe someone could step outside. I didn't get sn answer and after some time asked a gentleman waiting outside if they were open. He said he was waiting on a ride, but he could see someone seated inside. So I decided to go inside and there was someone at the desk. I told him my problem, he gave me some numbers from rebuilds to new. I told him I would honover the info and left. Later, as I pondered a direction , I called back to get all financual info ago. I'm 69 years old and didn't retain everything in my mind. He said he was in a car and would call me back. He never called back. The maga thing did run through my mind, but I also thought, maybe they have as much business as they need right now. They didn't seem interested in my money, that's for sure. Maybe they are one of those businesses that look at people and decide they don't want anything. Or maybe fate helped me, because I found a local guy in Duncanville that did want my business, was very professional, and was ready to help. A few days later, my car was rolling again, smooth as silk. He educated me along the way, explained all my options, gave prices, and his professional opinion. And in the end, came in under his price. A man came in who told me he had been coming to the shop for 35 years. Maybe 67 Transmission should send their people there first training, they can use it. And if you thought I was a black nobody who didn't want anything or have anything, my work has appeared in professional publications, and I helped people deal with businesses with bad policies , including my own experiences. Value every potential customer that walks in the door.

Navigating a new State takes some effort but I'm glad Kwik Kar in Midlothian was there to help!…read moreI had to navigate some car concerns and they were honest and helpful in assisting me. They offered appropriate services, didn't scam me when I didn't know what to do and offered sincere assistance. It's hard to find an honest mechanic and I'm grateful I did at Kwik Kar.

The value of a $108.84 oil change! Yes ...OIL CHANGE!! You may be required to also pay for post work Engine cleaning and decreasing . as well as driveway cleanup. Possible Engine loss I brought my 2015 F-150 in for a routine oil change. When I got home, I noticed a fresh 3-4" oil puddle on my driveway. After sliding under the truck to inspect their work, I found a hanging blob of oil on the oil drain plug. When I popped the hood to investigate further, it became clear the technician had an absolute mess of an incident on top of the engine block. Fresh motor oil was actively drenched and pooled all over the valve cover right around the oil fill cap, with dark oil splatters covering the plastic intake plenum and running down the wiring harness near the firewall. It looks like they either completely missed with the oil gun or ran the engine before putting the fill cap back on, and then shut the hood without cleaning any of it up. Now gravity is pulling that spilled oil down the engine block and onto my driveway. On top of the messy work, they also completely omitted my Veteran discount on the invoice this time around. This is the second and final strike for this location. Back in 2023, they failed to replace the plug crush washer on my 2011 Honda Element, which resulted in an active driveway leak. I let that one slide as a one-time mistake, but a pattern of sloppy, rushed work that risks engine damage is something I can no longer look past. If you use this location, make sure you pull your vehicle over, pop your hood, and check under your chassis before you drive off the lot. I will be taking my business to a reputable local independent shop from now on.
