The last time I was here was in the mid 80s when I worked close by where back in the day, men wore wool suits and ties and women wore work clothes that required dry cleaning. Back then Inter-City opened at 7 am to the Public and if you brought your items in by a certain time that morning you could get your items the same day. Fast forward to the present and although I no longer work in SSF, I do shop at Costco adjacent to them so I decided to dry cleaning a suit coat and sport coat. Walked in and chatted with the Filipina lady who has been working here from when I would come back in the day. Discounts are given for number of same pieces and she also said since I had brought it in early enough that I could get it the next day. Lo and behold, I got my text message saying it was ready for pick up and both pieces came out really nice. For those reviewers that mentioned stains that did not come out, they used to mark the area back in the day with tape so that the cleaner would see it. There is nothing fancy about this place. It's a dry cleaners. However, this is a very convenient location right off of 101 and across from Costco. The staff is very friendly. Prices here are so much cheaper than any other dry cleaners I have found. They text you when your order is ready. One thing that is difficult is finding their hours. Their hours on Google and Yelp are different. They do not post them online. Also, the phone numbers listed online are for the accounting department. My husband have been coming here for YEARS. So they only know him and not me. Today, I decided to drop off my son's Tux pants and shirt. The lady there was already not feeling friendly the moment I came in as I greeted her "Hi" and with a smile. Long story short, I asked her if I can get it sooner. She's like "I'm not here tomorrow, so it's Thur". What she did next is what got me. She aggressively grabbed the two clothes, threw it in a sack and threw it across the bin. (Like a toddler having tantrums) Making it obvious that she is not happy talking to me. As I was leaving, this guy walks in and she's all smiles. "Hello"..."How are you?". But to me...RUDE! DO NOT GO HERE - I WOULD GIVE THIS ZERO STARS IF I COULD. I had a basically brand-new, very expensive ($800) and sentimental jacket that was taken here to get dry cleaned. It came back wet and the delicate pattern was faded. I reached out and they took several months to respond after trying to place the blame on me. I only received a response after cc-ing in the hotel I had stayed at on multiple emails. Their manager, Jay forced me to go out of my way to send my jacket to him so he could review after not responding for months. He finally agreed that they had ruined my jacket, and sent me a small compensation. When I asked to also have the jacket back because it had extreme sentimental value, he refused and stopped answering my emails and calls. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have been using this dry cleaners for years and I appreciate that they offer bulk discounts and discounts to bigger employers in the area like sfo and Genentech. I get items back timely and it's very reasonably priced. I have had small issues only because women's blouses need extra steps with darts but I will sometimes bring in a men's shirt and be charged the blouse rate just because I present as female when leaving items but it's usually resolved when the items itself is inspected closer. I have been coming here for 12 years. They have excellent service and are very friendly. They have the best prices on the peninsula, hands-down. ($1.85 per garment with starch & press included) They even dry clean my queen size Down Comforter for $22. Being a single guy on the peninsula, they cover all of my dry cleaning needs that I don't have the time or expertise to get done. I have used and loved this cleaner for years, but now the staff have all changed. I took in two comforters and four pillow shams...they lost two shams and said I made a mistake, I only had two. It was clear on the pickup tag - 4 shams. The lady told me that she shook the comforters and only two were brought in. I went here twice: 1). The first time I washed a few white button up shirts and when they gave me my shirts back I realized that one of them still had stains on it. I told them that they missed a few spots on my shirt and they apologized and told me to come back in a few days. I said okay and thought it was probably a mistake and everyone makes mistakes - no biggie. 2). Fast forward a few months later, I came back a second time with a dress and a suede jacket. I originally told them I'd pick it up in a week but I was busy and I didn't pick it up for 10 days. When I got there the lady in front recognized me and said that they didn't wash the jacket because there were no tags on my jacket and I had to sign a waiver to get the jacket dry cleaned. She needed my signature and then they would process my jacket. I asked her why she didn't give me a call within these 10 days to inform me of this situation. And she said sorry she was busy so she forgot. As I'm paying for my dress she told me my jacket would be done the next day and to come pick it up - I told her that my time spent coming back and forth from this place to correct their mistake is wayyy more valuable than $6 that she was going to charge me for my jacket. I told her that this is terrible customer service and all around poor attention to detail. I asked to speak to her manager and she said that her manager is not here so I can either pay for my jacket and pick it up tomorrow or I can leave. Let's be clear, I was livid at this point because not only did they not own up to the mistakes (twice) but they wanted me to pay and spend more time going back and forth for mistakes that they made. I asked her if they made the mistake of not washing my jacket and having me go back and forth, why would I pay for that kind of service?! I asked if they could discount my dress or jacket since I'm spending so much time going back and forth for them to correct their mistakes. They said, "No there's no customer service here." Well, due to her lack of accountable, I walked out with my 2 garments and decided I'm not paying for any of it. I told her she can tell her manager exactly what happened and explain to him/her why they're loosing money due to the lack of accountability and respect of their customer's time. I don't regret not paying for my dress at all. Instead of just coughing up the $6 and actually being apologetic for their poor judgement + wasting my time... now their out double that amount + a customer who would have given them more business. That's the type of people and business you're dealing with. Tip: listen to all the bad reviews on this yelp page - I made the mistake of trying this place out and I was gracious enough to give them a second chance. Very rude, un-accommodating, low morale, low character employees. I tried several times to inquire about setting-up to wash/laundry our company's uniforms, even dropping by, but I get no answer and a quote. Last time I called, an Alex (female) answered. She was very rude and have no answers to my inquiries. She said, they'll call back without asking for my number. While I was giving my name and number, she hangup!!! Some years ago I was researching dry cleaners that was eco-friendly, close by, and affordable. This place hit all the marks. I have taken my dry cleaning here throughout the years and haven't had any issues. Recently they cleaned some mold off my blazer and 2 slacks. I have sworn off humidifiers because of this! Tip: always inspect your clothes there before leaving. If there's still a stain, they will gladly clean it again at no extra charge. This happened to me with a pair of slacks. It still had mold on it in a few areas and they marked the areas with white tape to remove it. read more

They aren't perfect - they did mess up one of my husband's shirts, but the manager spoke to me when I came to pick it up, explained what happened and offered to compensate us immediately. Ok, so it's kinda weird, but I've never had anything dry cleaned till this place. I'll put things back and not buy them if they're dry clean only. But I finally found a peacoat I loved, and it happened to be dry clean only. I work at a hotel nearby, and when I was told I could send my personal things in (get them picked up and returned to me at work... At an employee discount), I figured it couldn't get better or easier than that! I was very wrong. It took several calls to get them to come and pick up some employee uniforms and a guest item which had to be returned the same day.... 1st bad sign. They returned all but my peacoat within the next day... 2nd bad sign. It was a week later, and I asked the staff if it normally takes that long for a peacoat. When they said no, I called them. There was no record of them ever getting it... And of course I didn't have the invoice (my dumb move). So it was a 2 week investigation, spoke with 3 people on their staff... None of which ever apologized or took any type of responsibility at all. I even went down to the place to explain my situation, and called the 2 employees at my hotel who were there with me when it got picked up so they could describe the driver who picked it up, the time it was picked up, the description of the coat and what the weather was like that day. So now I have lost that peacoat and got a $50 check for it... Which is not what the coat cost me to begin with. Sure, they have cheap prices, but I think I'd rather pay more to ensure I get my clothes back. I'm disappointed to say the least, I'll go back to putting cute dry clean only clothes back on the rack so I won't have to deal with something like this again. And lesson learned, keep my copy of invoices!!! read more

You know something is good about this place when you wait for the magic spinning rack of clothes whizzes by and there are tons of police officer uniforms here. If the folks in blue/brown/grey stand by this place, then gosh darn it, so am I. The trick here is the more you bring in, the per piece charge goes down. How sweet is that? It's open early, but closes at 6:30, so better race on over to get your gear after work. It's open on Saturdays as well, but locked down on Sunday. The staff here is super efficient and can get your clothes back to you in a matter of 5 days, or at least that's how long it takes them to get the food stains outta my pants. ;-) Easy on and off the freeway, and weird parking situation in front. But if you're lucky you'll find shirtless cops picking up their gear. read more

I could not find a more cost effective cleaners if my life depended on it. I usually end up bringing in 2 bags full of clothing and rarely spend over $75.00. That may seem expensive to you but at my old cleaners, I would never walk out for under $120.00 and never did I dare take 2 bags! They are fast, professional, courteous, and my clothes always come back clean (and they dont smell like they have from other cleaners I know). My only problem is that my cat loves to sleep on my dry cleaning clothes bag, and if I forget to close the bedroom door, I end up with white fur on some of my clothes and they usually don't make an extra effort to help me out on that end. They have had me sign a waiver also on tops or jeans that I had beading or rhinestones on and there has never been an issue. Nothing has come back missing anything! The parking is a little weird - you kinda have to make your own spot and stay out of the way of everyone else. read more

I've been bringing the majority of my dry cleaning here for years and you can't beat the price! It seems the more I bring, the cheaper it gets! Seriously! They really stick to their volume discount. I bring my all my pants and most of my sweaters, but have yet to bring delicate items. For instance, I had these sweaters with pearl buttons and they asked me to sign a waiver, so I brought them somewhere else. I know they service the local hotels, because I've seen rolls of various hotel plastic bags. I find this very comforting. Fantastic! My wife went in yesterday to see about having a handbag cleaned. It was canvas with leather trim and she had spilled coffee on it a few years back. The gentleman who helped her took a look at it and offered to steam clean it right then AND at no cost. He took it back, cleaned it, and now it looks good as new. She is overjoyed. I've been having a hard time looking for a good dry cleaner. I work a couple blocks from this place and decided to try it since it seems convenient. I dry cleaned 4 pairs of pants for $10!!!! I went to a place that changed me double that before. They are very fast too. They can have it ready for you the next day or two. I asked how much a peacoat would be to dry clean and she said $8!! I am a real cleaners snob, and if I am not 110% satisfied, I pack my ditties and head down the road. Having recently moved to the area, I went on the hunt and found these good folks on Yelp. I gave them a try and was more than pleased. My clothes were cleaned as advertised, starched to perfection and ironed with crisp lines where they should be, and no lines where they shouldn't. Some of my shirts are French cuffs which are not easy to manage - but they did! Then, to top it all off, on my second (yes, Mildred my second) visit, when I walked through the door, they greeted me by name! PRICELESS! This place is awesomely awesome. It is located in South San Francisco by SFO. They get done in one day as long as you drop off your items before 12:00pm. They'll have it ready by 5:30pm the same day. Prices are really good especially if you dry clean all the time. A real money saver. The service is good. If you have special request just make sure to tell and show them what you mean. Just received a phone call from the manager Jay who claimed that I gave them the coat in this condition and will not do anything about it. He ended up putting the blame on me and said i should come pick it up since it wasn't him or any of his employees fault. I am absolutely furious this was a brand new coat and now they're telling me there are pieces of lint on it and a used napkin in the coat and the tears were already there. Mind you, these are no normal tears only a machine couldve done this. I WILL NEVER BE GOING HERE AGAIN. DONT BRING ANYTHING OF SENTIMENTAL VALUE TO THIS CLEANER! If I had given them the coat in this condition why wouldn't they note it on the invoice prior? Makes zero sense! BEWARE AND STAY AWAY! Another reviewer below had a similar incident. She gave them her coat to dry clean and they said they never received it. Poor girl had to prove she did give them her coat and they denied ever receiving it. I'm giving Inter-City two stars for their prices & discounts, but I was very disappointed in the quality of cleaning and service after my first visit there. I took in 2 suits, 7 ties, and a suit jacket. It wasn't until I got home and took the plastic off that I saw a red & yellow cardboard sign around three of the ties noting that there were stains they couldn't get out. I would have thought that's something they would have pointed out at the time I picked up and paid for the garments, instead of letting me be surprised once I got home. The second strike against them was one of the suit jackets, a lighter gray color, had several stains still visible on it, with no note. Thirdly, none of the suits looked pressed very well. They were kind of limp. I have a cleaner on Ocean Avenue in SF that is excellent and inexpensive, but the location is not very convenient. But it looks like I will be going back to them. They have never not been able to get stains out in all the years I've been going there. See my other reviews for more on them. I'm sorry I had to write this review, I was really hoping I could replace my old cleaner with this one since it's on my way to work and the price seemed right. But now I will have to pay to have some of the garments cleaned twice. If the other cleaner can't get the suit stains out either, I will update this review to that effect. read more

I've been coming here for a few years on and off but my most recent experience has been all but pleasant. When I showed up for my item as agreed (1 week), the attendant could not find it and I stood there for 20 minutes as she looked through the entire rack one by one. I received a call a few days later that they had my item but when I showed up, it was incorrect. I had to drive to the location 3 separate times in a span of 2 weeks to retrieve a single item. As consolation, the single item was free but the trips alone cost more than that. read more

While i love their prices, everything that I have brought with stains on them have come back exactly the same, even when I pointed them out and they have noted them down. After 3 different tries, I am giving up! Funny thing, seems to come out when I wash it at home. Seems to be better suited for bulk volume of plain dry clean. Heard about this place through an ex coworker. Prices are very reasonable and get the job done although recently they temporarily misplaced my trench coats and couldn't find them. I stood there for 10 minutes going through the revolving rack and no luck. Luckily, they found my coats the next day which was good news. I never dry clean my clothes anywhere else. Too bad they don't do leather or fur. They do down with just a light wash so I don't know how effective that is or how clean it would be. I love my shirts with light starch. Don't ask for medium, it's really stiff and if you do, it will hurt the whole day because it chafes around the collar. It's kind of far from home, but they are industrial strength which really makes my clothes scream sexy. read more

They lost my suit pants and included a pair of pants with my stuff that was not mine which I returned and photographed. The Mgr Jay was horrible. He claims that they never make mistakes even though I had received pants that did not belong to me which I returned. After two weeks he asked to bring in the jacket to the suit. Why he waited so long speaks to his lack of understand and owneship of his errors. He never returned my call when he promised to. The suit cost me $700 which I wore once. THEY LOST MY CLOTHES TWICE WITHIN FEW MONTHS! 1- Lost my dress shirt about 6 months ago. They kept asking for more time to look for the shirt, but after three weeks I had enough and asked for reimbursement. The manager, Mark, never contacted me to apologize for the incident. 2- This past weekend, I found out that they gave away my wife's dress to someone else after I realized I got the wrong dress. The employee couldn't even find on the spot who got it and showed me a large trash bag of receipts they will have to go through one by one to try to match the customer's serial # they stapled to our receipt by mistake. The ticket with a customer's serial # is raffle looking ticket and not even electronic so they were looking for a needle in a haystack. 3- To my surprise, they were able to locate the customer and the dress was brought back to the store. But still no word on the dress shirt they lost 6 months ago. 4- The big discounts they offer seem to come with a price; that is losing your items frequently. I will not go back there but I suspect it will not matter to Inter-City Cleaners because they serve the hotels in the area and airport employees. My business to them is peanuts. 5- TO INDIVIDUALS, however, I do not recommend the place if you care about not losing your clothes not only once but twice. It is unfortunate because the employees at the desk seem decent people but losing clothes more than once is too foolish to go back again. read more
