We were quickly greeted by the friendly female hostess who offered us either indoor or outdoor seating. We chose to sit indoors to enjoy our tastings of both whites & reds . Normally I prefer reds however in the summer I enjoy a crisp Sauvangion Blanc or even a nice Rose. If you purchase a bottle your tasting fee is waived which is always a great deal. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned for the Alpine Block party event which included tastings at Stonum Vineyards and two other nearby wineries. This fun filled evening included live music, food trucks, and the Lodi Wine trolley shuttling you back & forth between the wineries. Definitely a good time! I highly recommend Stonum Vineyards & Tasting Room for great wine, friendly service and well coordinated, entertaining events.

First, their reputation has always been very good. They've had some recognition from some reputable wine sources so I had very high expectations for the wine. In, short, the wines were very good. They had a nice selection from rose to the more Lodi styled red wines. I really did enjoy all the wines and the price point seems fair. I guess I was kinda hoping to meet the winemaker, learn more about their vineyards and purpose for growing certain varietals. When you get wine with a story it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I really like this place and I'm hoping to make a stronger connection with the business since I consider myself an advocate for Lodi wines since my hobby is to compare our wines with the best out in the other regions of CA. Pretty heavy competition but so far Lodi is more than able to compete with certain types of wines aka Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Syrah and occasionally Cabernet.

What really sets her apart is her consistency. It's not just one great visit--every time we've been there, she's gone above and beyond with the same positive energy and attention to detail. Because of her, this winery has become our go-to spot. I even celebrated my 50th birthday here, and it was such a memorable experience. All of my guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing Rachelle was--everyone felt taken care of, comfortable, and truly impressed with the service. The winery itself is beautiful, accommodating, and perfect for gatherings, which made the celebration even better. On top of that, the entire team at Calivirgin is fantastic. We ultimately had a good time and Sophia was good to us at the bar. We stood at the main tasting bar to try four wines. The Chardonnay and especially fhe old vine Zinfandel stood out as excellent to us and we ended up getting some bottles. As there weren't many folks doing a tasting on a weekday we got VIP treatment and had a deljghtful conversation, and education about the wines, from the person pouring for us. We really enjoyed our stay and the surroundings made it extra nice. Compared to the hype of Napa and Sonoma this winery and others in the Lodi area are down to earth and affordable in comparison, especially for tastings. This place very much is worth a visit. Sitting outside to sip a bottle must be delightful too.

She was truly so knowledgeable about the wines and super hospitable as well. I appreciated her warm, amiable disposition. It truly made one of the greatest highlights during this visit. I decided to explore around the property. It was beyond gorgeous with beautiful decorations, blooming plants, water fountains + ponds, and so much more. We found out about Van Ruiten while attending the 2026 Lodi Grape Festival. The owner was so friendly and was pouring their new Sparkling Rose and Blanc De Blanc. When we arrived at the winery, they had a good amount of people inside and outside but there was still plenty of seating for either option. The interior is lovely with a beautiful scenic painting on the left wall. They sell cute Knickknacks for your home as well. We ordered a bottle of the sparkling Rose and set out on the patio to enjoy some bubbles under the shade. I love the way they have the vines growing above you in the patio area, it was so beautiful. There was a family having a picnic, so it appears to be perfect for large groups as well. Overall It was a nice experience and will for sure be back again. Would love to see them add a brut to the collection and maybe offer a sparkling wine tasting flight as they only offer a still wine tasting currently.

We brought a mat to relax on and a deck of cards, which turned into some pretty competitive games of Speed. For food, we ordered 2 dozen oysters and a pepperoni pizza with added jalapeños. We specifically mentioned NO pineapple due to my partner's allergy. After finishing our oysters, our pizza was finally ready... and guess what? It had pineapple on it. Thankfully, we checked before taking it back to our area. The staff remade it correctly, and about 30 minutes later we got the jalapeño pizza we originally ordered. It was absolutely delicious! One more little hiccup: after opening my tab, the staff member forgot to return my ID. I didn't realize it until I was already back in Elk Grove, so I had to make the trip back to pick it up. We had booked our wedding for next summer, but had to cancel due to our losing faith in the management. We did not expect a full refund, but because it was over a year away, we felt it would show good business to at least refund half of our deposit. To this day we haven't received so much as a phone call from owners, or management.
