I actually looked on Yelp to figure out where to get a facial since I recently moved here and I chose Intermezzo since they had 20% off for first time clients. Holly was amazing it was relaxing and blissful and not to get to disgusting but was able to take care of all those blackheads and whiteheads. I went to see Lauren at Intermezzo because I got a hair cut a fews days before at another salon that I hated! I'm going to a wedding and want to look my best! Lauren totally got it right! She listened when I talked about what I wanted and my hair maintenance & styling (very little beyond a blow dryer!) She cut my hair dry which I had never had done before, but it totally made since when she explained it would help her to see how my hair falls. And the salon is SO CUTE! Here is my personal run down: Yani (eyelashes extensions): Yani is amazing, I had a full set of eyelash extensions applied prior to my wedding and were well worth the time and money. The application process is long, but Yani is so sweet and meticulous, I knew they would turn out perfect, she exceeded my expectations. I also hired Lauren (stylist) Jami (stylist), and Holly (makeup artist) for on sight hair and makeup for myself and bridal party. All 3 ladies were awesome. My makeup and hair were perfect and my bridesmaids looked phenomenal. All 3 were fun, friendly and easy to work with. If your getting married, hire these ladies to come on sight. It will make your day smoother and you and your bridesmaids will look gorgeous! read more

Intermezzo is incredible! I have been getting my lashes done for 3+ years...and have had lots of great experiences and lots of nightmares. Cherry at Intermezzo is BY FAR the best lash girl that there is. Everytime I go see her I walk out with the flutteriest lashes you have ever seen! And everytime I go in for a scheduled fill, she barely has to add anything, because her lashes stay on FORVER!! If you have ever had your lashes done, you know how important that is. And she is just so fun and nice. And the rest of the staff is so friendly. And the salon is adorable. I would give 500 stars if I could!! read more

Jamie is awesome! I have seen her several times for highlights and cuts and I've been thrilled with the results each time. She specializes in curly hair cuts, which was one of the reasons I chose her. Jamie is both talented and super friendly and I can't recommend her highly enough. Also, she's not pushy about buying salon products like some other stylists I've seen at other salons. She'll make suggestions about what products would work best in your hair, but that's as far as she goes. I totally appreciate not feeling like I HAVE to buy a product from the salon. I've been going to the same person for years but couldn't get him to try a new cut or color...mostly I always looked the same walkiing out. Jayme had a few ideas for a new cut. She did a great job. My hair is so much lighter (both in weight and color). Yay! I didn't get to have any spa treatments but I so want to go back. The people are friendly. Oh! One more great thing: There was NO pushing me to buy their products. Such a relief because I can't afford $70 a bottle shampoo (yes, that's what it cost me once. Live and learn!. Since my last review, Shawn has given me several adorable haircuts and several rounds of amazing highlights. This week, I wanted to put dark purple highlights in my hair, and we weren't sure how to pull that off with a dye that would stay longer than a Manic Panic would, until we consulted Lauryn. She had just done purple highlights earlier this week and was able to tell Shawn exactly what dye and color to use, and was confident it would work after seeing my hair in its natural state, even before we bleached it to ensure color saturation. Lauryn made sure to come back after the highlights were done to see if it worked, and it did. I love my new purple highlights, and I love knowing that the staff at Intermezzo will consult each other and make every effort to make a client's vision for their hair come true. As a sidenote, while I was there I overheard Lauryn set up consultations for other "crazy" colors, so it seems she is the one to see if you are thinking of going a little wild. :) read more

I got my hair cut here a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it. I have intensely curly hair and needed to cut at least half of it off, so I did a LOT of research before finally deciding to check out Intermezzo. My stylist was Lauryn Grinnell who was absolutely fabulous! She did a good job consulting with me before, and asked thoughtful questions to make sure I was comfortable (without being overly chatty, which I appreciate so much!) My curly hair looks great and I've received a lot of compliments since then. Thanks Lauryn! The salon itself is really cute too. I suppose it sort of looks like a little French boho chic cottage, if that makes sense. It's very clean, and not noisy at all. The wax rooms upstairs look really nice too. Plus the wash and cut was reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back! read more

Peggy is the best in town ask anyone who has used her services I have been going to see Peggy for about ten years at Madison Skin and laser so when i found her on top of Queen Anne I was thrilled because it is so much easier. Parking is a breeze and there is a Top Pot right across the street. I had a cool treatment with Peggy. My skin feels great! I have rosacea so my skin is very sensitive but the treatment really worked for me. Intermezzo is very cute and did i already mention the parking was free on the street right in front. Leslie Soukup has been my stylist for about a year and a half. Leslie met me when I was trying to grow out a very short haircut. My naturally curly hair can be really hard to manage and even harder during a time of growing it out. My initial cut and color with Leslie was great and continues to be great as my hair has been growing out. She has suggested Keratin treatment which I had my last appointment. I loved the treatment, found it to make my hair much easier to manage without losing the body or some of the curls. I highly recommend Leslie to anyone who wants great looking hair and perfect color. read more

I had been going to Marni since 2005 until I moved out of state in 2010 and I miss her undeniable talent SO much!!! She not only listens to what you're requesting, it's almost as though she is psychic as I often felt she did things to my hair that I hadn't verbalized but meant to. Now that I'm living on the east coast, I am struggling to find a stylist who is anywhere comparable to Marni! When I come home for visits, I plan to stop in for appointments as often as possible!! The salon is cute and clean, and has a very relaxing atmosphere. Derrick was able to take me the same day I called, and didn't leave me waiting at all once I got there. He does a great job of taking care of you, including the extra effort he put in to a head massage as he washed my hair. I told him I usually wear my hair naturally curly and he shaped the cut accordingly. My layers now carry a great weight for my curls, even as I wash and style it on my own. As a college student getting my hair done is the most pampering I'm able to afford and Derrick made it worth it. The conversation was pleasant and not forced, leaving time for me to close my eyes and just enjoy the attention. As I left he gave me a sample of product he'd matched to my hair's style. I will definitely be coming back after this fall quarter to pamper the hairs I haven't pulled out over finals. read more

I have to say that the reason for visiting the salon to begin with was to see Lauren. It makes me sad to only give one star but I will never go back to Intermezzo again. I had been going for over two years and I loved this place. I would even drive 30 miles from my house just to get a hair cut. I had really long hair and I wanted to trim it up with layers and bangs, instead I got side burns, uneven bangs, and hair above my shoulders. Now I know this sounds odd but I kid you not, this is one of the worse haircuts and I cried for 2 days after I got it. When my husband and friends saw the cut they too couldn't believe how terrible it was and that I had to pay $75 for it. I should have just gone into Hair Clips. I would have gotten the same crappy cut and had only paid $12 for it. I will never return again and sadly never tell anyone to go here. Truly makes me sad. read more

I LOVE this place and the incredibly talented and fun to chat with Lauryn! The atmosphere is super chic & clean and the personalities in the salon/spa are absolutely friendly to the max! I have seen Lauryn for all my hair cuts for over a year now and there has never been a cut I did not LOVE! Intermezzo allows you to schedule appointments online which is great and if you like to make appointments the regular way (by phone) the front desk is always friendly and professional. Its so wonderful to come in for an appointment, be greeted warmly, be offered to take your jacket, begin your appointment on time, AND be offered a beverage which comes with a little treat! Just recently I reccomended Intermezzo (Lauryn) to my male coworker for a MAJOR hair makeover and Lauryn did AMAZING yet again! He was super happy with his new do and will be coming again.
