Crush Red (Red Blend) and Potter's Petite

Well, it's time to confess...my love for the flatbread at Intermission Brewery has reached an obsession. I only want this flatbread, and no other. I can't stop thinking about the peppers and onions! Hearty strips of red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and sweet onions. On the most robust fire roasted tomato sauce I've ever had. Oh, the cheese was melted perfectly, and there was plenty of it. All on top of a crisp flatbread that was seriously just the right thickness. It paired beautifully with the chilled red blend I enjoyed with it. And my husband was thrilled with his flatbread as well. He ordered the Italian sausage variety, with a Potter's Petite Cider - chilled nicely, of course. From the moment we walked into Intermission Brewery, we were made to feel welcome by the bartender. He was also our server, and he was fast and friendly. I didn't catch his name, but he was joking with us, which we appreciated. As for parking, it was simple and straightforward. We parked right next to the entrance. There was a larger group of people at one table when we arrived. I know that Intermission holds meet-ups for groups, which is great. There was also a family with an elementary school age child. They were playing some sort of cards or board game. I thought it was wonderful that this establishment was family friendly. There's such a chill atmosphere, I think people just enjoy themselves here. My husband and I can't wait to go back! Intermission holds a "Date Night" special each and every Friday this summer. Be sure to check out their Facebook page. They keep it updated frequently with events and news.

Hello it's me. Beer & service review ONLY. Let me further say in support ... one cannot fairly say - oh 4 stars for a location that is situated in the middle of a random parking lot in comparison to one that's on "huge tracts of land" (who got that Monty python reference ) with amazing views, and try to do a side-by-side comparison? I judge it on its own merits bc it is where it is and that's that so it would be unfair to expect the impossible.. Onward: I came for two reasons. Returning from a distant location and it was on my travel path. As well, I was aware they had some reduced gluten offerings so this was a bonus in the beer world. The location is literally next to an automotive store. Wee bit challenging to locate. However, once you get in there, it's a nice space with bar seating and tables. There are board games for those who want to play, the service was attentive, and bartender is ready to explain what they have on tap. Unlike some of the offerings in Richmond, proper, it's not super heavy on the IPAs and, (perhaps an unpopular opinion on my part) not everybody wants every draft to be an IPA. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find a more varied beer selection. My only negative comment is going to make me sound like a grouch, but it can get loud (very) when folks bring little kids bc it's small. My overall opinion is that in this kinda beer "desert" this is a nice spot!

Food is delicious, pizza is great! Beer selections even better. Service is excellent, very friendly! Ambiance is like stepping into a modern brewery mixed with movies

We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon before going to an appointment. It is a little hard to get to but there is parking along with some indoor and outdoor seating. There was a decent selection of beers. We did a flight. I liked the red amber beer the best. Definitely worth stopping in for a drink.

Decent selection of beers but was just bummed how much the charge for less than a pint of beer. It's crazy all these breweries hit the consumer so hard. I realize it probably costs a fortune to keep those doors open. I will say over the weekend the kids were able to play in the field out back while the parents got to enjoy so me cold beverages. The inside of the brewery did a nice job separating the tables and the staff did wear masks. I also stop for a least one beer when I find a local brewery. You should too!

I've lived down the street for over a year and hadn't been here until a few weeks ago...I've since been back two other times. Super friendly staff who told me all about their product and members club. I have yet to join but I am strongly considering it! The outside space is large and is dog friendly. Brought my dog last week! I tried their raspberry seltzer's, SUPER flavorful, but my go-to is the Tropic Thunder (ipa) I believe that's what it's called !

It is nice that the brewery scene is expanding out in to this area. Makes it easier for people living in Glen Allen/Ashland to enjoy a craft beer at a brewery without having to go downtown. The atmosphere was not like that of the other breweries around Richmond, but was still a good one. It was not crowded when I went so service was quick and the beer was tasty. They had a variety of options.

My husband and I made it a point to find this new to us brewery last Sunday. It is hidden behind the good year tire store but fairly easy to find. We tried a flight in order to sample several of the beers that they offer and sadly we were underwhelmed. They were all ok beers but not one stood out which we found unfortunate. Of course everyone has their own tastes when it comes to beer but I think they need to pick up their game a bit and offer something more original. The environment was pleasant enough and we appreciated that the chairs had backs which was more comfortable than some breweries offer.

This is my All Time favorite Brewery that I have ever tried! This is the biggest stamp of approval I have by far given any business I have patroned. Primarily when this Queen is accommodated and treated accordingly that alone earns the business 50 snaps and 20 circles, but when you're consistent you deserve more kudos than the rest! Secondly, I'm not into alcoholic beverages, and usually not into beer, however if I drink a beer Guinness stout it is hands down. Intermission created this Milk Stout that since I have tried it, I don't drink anything but it when I'm in the mood for a dark beer. They have currently created these beer slushies that are killer, they got me hooked. Everyone of drinking age must check them out! My biggest fear is they get as popular and inundated as the crowded breweries and lose the allure that captured my adoration. I also love their sense of community and collaborative efforts with other small businesses. They have a picnic area plenty of parking, convenient to all and you can bring your own food, what more can you ask for? This lovely couple who own and operate the establishment are exceptionally kind and accepting! La Doña approves of this message and highly recommends Intermission!

What we were most looking forward to was the wine flights. When we arrived, the person at the entrance was super friendly and asked what we were looking for since there was an event happening that day. He pointed us in the direction of where to order drinks and mentioned that someone would walk us through the wines as we selected them. Each flight includes four different wines, but once we got up to order, we quickly realized we weren't going to get the full tasting experience. Since it was a Friday, flights were served in plastic containers instead of glass. When we asked why, the man helping us said, "Are you kidding me? There's 300 people out there." I assume this meant they didn't have enough glassware for the crowd or couldn't keep up with washing them. They do give you a single glass you can pour your samples into, if you prefer drinking from glass. We were handed a list of wines to choose from, but unless we asked specific questions, we weren't offered any information or recommendations. I don't know much about wine, but I do know I like sweet ones so I chose the four that were marked as sweet. Seating is first come, first served, and there was live music playing, which was a nice touch. That said, we weren't sure where the "300 people" were, as it didn't feel particularly crowded. One downside was the flies that were really annoying, which made it hard to relax and enjoy our drinks. We ended up leaving shortly after finishing our wines. There were a lot of dogs around maybe part of the event, though we weren't sure. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't live up to the hype or the pictures we'd seen. If you're looking for a more traditional wine tasting with glass flights and staff guidance, I'd recommend going on a different day or calling ahead to find out what to expect.

It took over 20 minutes for our waitress to come over and greet us, and that wasn't even to take our drink orders. It was so long that we debated leaving, however we remember how good it was, so decided to stick the wait out. I should've taken the nearly empty restaurant as a sign. That's was my mistake. Might've been one of the longest meals of my life. The staff- who claim to be short staffed (which could very well be, I'm not downplaying that), however they frequently stood in front of the TV watching whatever sports game was on it... interesting. When we tried to get our waitresses attention (multiple times this occurred), we got a nasty side eye and she walked away and ignored us (lovely ). When we did finally get our meals, items of it were cold or incorrect (shoutout my mashed potatoes which were physically hard). With that being said, the wings were good, would recommend those if you're going here. Don't order the tacos on the other hand... elote corn was obviously frozen- gross. Other items of the meal you could tell were previously frozen too. I will say they offered us a complimentary dessert which was nice, I was just really disappointed with this experience overall. In my opinion this restaurant needs to be renovated and menu needs to be cleaned up (and the freshness of the food should be revalued), this place is going downhill and experience reflects that.
