It has that nostalgic charm that makes you want to take your time and dig around for hidden gems. The worker inside was super friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated being able to browse at my own pace. Prices were fair, and the selection included everything from well-known classics to more obscure finds you don't see too often. The store is owned by The Record Man next door, which focuses more on vinyl records, so it's a nice combo if you're into all kinds of physical media. There's a small parking lot between the two shops which makes it convenient to check out both in one stop. I ended up finding a few cool items to add to my collection and will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area treasure hunting.

All records in here are just $5, which made buying here an absolute treat. I walked out with 4 LPs for the price of a lunch. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly. They went in the back to look for Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode when I asked, and brought out CDs even though they did not have the vinyls. It turns out they are attached to the neighboring Record Man store, and they suggested I look there for LPs. I would definitely come back and highly recommend!

People want to come to United States because of something they saw in the movies . Hollywood has become the way America gets portrayed to the world and its usually fantasy. Technological advances has made it easier to access the movies personally and it doesn't require people to enter a movie theater. You can watch movies on your phone .Today the newer generation ( Generation Z) are embracing older physical ways to watch movies on DVD and Blu-rays. There is a place in San Francisco where you can still rent movies on DVD's . It's located in Noe Valley and it's called Video Wave. On a Summer stroll on 24th street in Noe Valley I landed in Video Waves. Inside you will find all types of curated DVD's from classics movies and newer movies. It feels like you stepped back in time when physical media dominated the market. Even though you can stream movies today you don't own it physically. You can grab seasons of the series Silicon Valley on DVD in Noe Valley. You can also watch the Star Wars series and other fan favorites. Although the Sony Play Station stopped making physical video games the DVD is making a comeback because the new generation demands it. So catch the DVD wave at Video Wave in SF. After waiting 2 weeks, I finally called the store myself and was told they had sold out, but they'd let me know if they got a restock. The very next week they called and suddenly said they had it in stock, but I had to come pick it up that same day or they wouldn't hold it for me anymore. After rushing to the store, they then told me I still had a balance due because the price of the item had increased by 33%. How does that make any sense? If a customer already prepaid in full during the preorder, the agreed price should be locked in. Raising the price at pickup after taking someone's money weeks earlier is ridiculous and feels extremely dishonest. Between the lack of communication, selling out my preorder, and then trying to charge me more afterward, this was one of the worst retail experiences I've had. Would not recommend preordering anything from GameStop, especially TCG as the prices are pretty much market price and not MSRP compared to other retailers

Only place in SF I know of that has Topps at MSRP. Honestly, a Mega is like $.25 a card. If you like Baseball even a little, why not?

I myself was on a bowling team named the Orient Express, and I wish I still had my red team shirt with the dragon on the back. But I digress as this has been an independent record store since 1997, an offshoot of the Berkeley store on Telegraph. Digital downloads be damned, this shop is focused on physical media...CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes, Blu-rays, and of course, vinyl. Even before picking up spares at Park Bowl, I recall that moment in my youth when I made the monumental decision to switch my record purchases from vinyl to CDs. Nowadays, vinyl is making a comeback among a younger generation looking for a higher quality, more realistic sound quality. I saw these Gen Z audiophiles flipping through the long LP bins in search of the elusive underground classic their stereophonic friends could appreciate and envy. Personally I could find nuggets of my own. Albums like The Very Best of Spike Jones (Photo 10) and The Complete 2,000 Year Old Man (Photo 5) resonated with me. I was happy to see individual LPs consolidated into boxed sets like the Linda Ronstadt retrospective. Beyond the music is the expansive DVD collection of movie titles both classic and obscure. There's also books and collectible merchandise like pop-culture lunch boxes and celebrity prayer candles. I'm not sure I need a candle that deifies Aubrey Plaza, but it's good to know where I can get one. RELATED - Exploring the Haight?
